We are just back from our meal. I had a beef daub with dauphinoise potatoes and I'd give it 10/10. Chef knows his way round a good daub!
However, I do think the new tenants missed a trick. We asked ages ago if they were open today, and booked it. Nothing has been nothing to promote the one off opening, except a short notice yesterday on their FB page. There were few diners, they'd run out of logs for the fire and we were cold (I ate dinner in my coat!) and, much to my cousin's disgust, they'd run out of clementine trifle.
It's their first year, and they are doing so much right, but at the moment...could do better.
@Ergates, I enjoyed the book. Can you remember what channel the film was on, please?

@Ergates we saw The Marlow Murder Club a few weeks ago when we were in Norfolk. Enjoyed it.
@Penny_Forthem we saw it on UKTV Play which is now called U.

I'm glad you had such a good time @Ladybird4.

A very good morning one and all and the happiest of Christmas Eves. Special thoughts going out to @Badly_Maintained as I suspect this will be a difficult time for him and his Mum.Anyone else feeling in need of a hug consider it done!
Handy brother and I are going to the GC for our Christmas lunch today then after that I intend to veg. out - knitting as I veg. of course. Its drizzly mizzly here at the moment but according to the weather forecast it won't be a bad day.

              Good morning folks!!

Cold here and fortunately the wind has abated - for now. I hope it doesn't get up again - so tiring. Got up early to bake my sourdough bread to make the most of night rates.

Thank you for the photos @Ante1 - great view you have from your balcony. Glad you didn't get blown off. Bon appetit @Ladybird4 for your Christmas lunch today.

It seems that Father Christmas has left the North Pole and is in the Southern Hemisphere on delivery duties!! He should pass by our northern climes on his way home tonight!!

                  Good Morning this Christmas Eve.

It’s misty and mild here so at least no snow, rain or wind to contend with.

Impressive result with the wheat pots @Ante1.

Have a safe and pleasant day all.

Judging by your winter wheat @Ante1, it seems as though next season's growing will be a huge success.

Morning everyone, quite misty moist here to start but much warmer.
I've just descaled the coffee machine, as it will be rather overworked in the next 48 hrs. I will be prepping the sprouts later. Hope all your plans and events go well see you on the other side.

Safe journey, @Busy-Lizzie. That wheat looks very impressive, @Ante1. Nicely timed for Christmas!
Just been to the garden centre to get extra bird food. I also treated myself to two pairs of socks! Don’t think anyone will be buying me any for Christmas, and I’m quite particular about the style and colour! Maybe I should wrap them and put them under the tree for myself!
We did get stuck briefly in a queue of traffic outside the supermarket, but luckily it cleared fairly quickly. I was certainly feeling a bit smug that I got everything done yesterday, and despite being a worrier and inclined to last minute panics, couldn’t actually think of anything I forgot to get.
I’m going to spend the afternoon getting a trifle put together, then maybe indulge in some reading!
Very mild here, overcast but dry. I brought the bins and recycling up from the kerb, and must have spooked a deer at the top of the garden. Great deal of crashing around in the shrubbery, and just caught sight of it racing down the path. Lots of places around here for them to spend the day. They wander through the garden quite often, judging by the droppings on the lawn. Love to have them here.
Happy Christmas to anyone not popping in tomorrow.
