Blimey, that must have been scary stuff! Being on blood thinners is itself a proper pain in the rump - I've just nicked my thumb whilst attempting to repair our microwave, and manged to get claret all over the place before getting to some kitchen roll. Definitely ruined a pair of jogging bottoms, that is for sure.

Yup, least little thing and it’s like a house cleaners nightmare. I stopped letting hubby use white towels! Had to get the emergency doc out one night when the neighbors cat jumped on his leg, blood everywhere and took hours to stop it completely. Traveling is a nightmare too as a lot of companies won’t insure anyone on blood thinners. Even coming over to the UK next week we have to sign him up as a “temporary resident “ so he can have his blood tests done every week.

Spray the towel with peroxide (the kind you'd pour over a cut) and let it bubble. If the blood doesn't disappear, do it again. It will eventually take every drop out and does not harm to the fabric. I have used it on silk with no issues.

And it works on grape stains too ;)

Does that work with coloured fabrics too?

Yes, it is definitely recommended for coloured fabrics, even ones that only identify as such. It will not lose it's dye as you would with bleach. You may take that as a 100% true.

You are a star, thank you! Transpires that I dripped on a rug and on a blanket whilst I was hunting for the plasters (not recommended to cut oneself whilst home alone!) so there are bits needing cleaned.

        Evening folks.
I’ve had a hard, tiring week and was thinking I am too tired to read or post much tonight but then I read @Fat Controller ’s post…

I just wanted to take my hat off to you for your determination to be as fit and mobile as you can be, despite the horrendous ordeal you have been through. Fabulous to hear the progress you’ve made.

Deepest respect to all those who have overcome adversity - either their own or that of a close loved one. Been there.

Yes I think many of us have been through the mill either with our own ill health , or parents or children. Human beings are tough aren’t they? I think we have to be.
@Fat Controller sounds like you are tougher than most and still battling on. Thanks for sharing your story.

                        Good morning all.

I had a bad time when my husband died in 1998, he was 53, I was 47. We lived in France, I still do. We had 4 children at school and uni. Some years later my parents died, but a lot of us have been through that. My lovely brother died, 21, cancer, I was 23.

The last few years have been good as I have 2nd OH.
He lives in Norfolk, can be a bit complicated, travelling.

It should be a fine day and I have gardening to do. Also the weekly market is on this morning so we may go and have a look.

It was Daughter 1's birthday yesterday so tomorrow we are going to stay the weekend with her and her family, 3 boys, teenagers. She lives near Poitiers.
