Our Show car got first page (two page lay out) coverage in a Car Magazine. Just got Magazine in the mail. No that is not me. She's a friend Sasha met at the park when we were doing Photo shots of the car. The black box next to the lady is the story. Street Sceen.jpg street sceen model.jpg

That's a dream of a car @redstar, my favourite colour for a car too. I'm sure the car gives you loads of fun. A great hobby.

Nice for you to say that. Showing a Show Car is not truly loads of fun. its just mostly work. Setting it up, traveling distances, polishing it etc. Unloading it properly. Getting it ready for Judging. Watching people don't lean over it to far. Watching women with purses, people with buckles, people with kids. We take turns sitting with the car, baby sitting. A scratch can cost thousands to fix. People walking with baby carriages to near the car. The color, BTW, was a custom blend, not on the market. Thanks, the color is one of the major attractions, also the 18 inch back wheels, hubcaps etc. and the engine cover. It is the only roadster in USA. Oh, yes, additional stress, can't be out if its going to rain. So its what they call a Trailer Queen. I do get a lot of fun out of it by people watching. One cute story----I am sitting in my chair behind it, (husband went somewhere). 3 guys come by, about in their 40's . They look at the car, then they ask me "Is it your car", I say yes, Then one says " are you single". LOL. Had to think on that for a second.

              Cheeky boys :heehee:

You've pricked my conscience terribly, dare I confess .

It must be 45 years ago (can't believe it's that long) we had a day out at a car rally. My daughter was about 4 at the time, and it was a really hot day. I'm afraid while walking around the beautiful cars on show she managed to drop her 'ball' of ice-cream out of the cone. Sod's law she was standing right next to a gleaming Ferrari, I nearly died. The ice cream slid very slowly all the way down the side of the car. There was no point in us trying to clean it up, we'd have made more mess. Fortunately or rather unfortunately there was no one around to tell.... All these years I've carried that guilt, please don't judge me :love30:

One of the reasons we babysit her, each of us taking turns. I am not opposed to saying no to a child if the parent seems to not "notice". But a Ferrari with factory paint much cheaper to fix. Anyway, some of our shows are inside, with stanchions and roped around, a distance of 3 feet from the car. People truly respect that, so we can both go off walking about. And its in the indoor shows she is left overnight with security guards about. Out door shows, each day about 4PM we start the job of getting her ready to drive to her trailer, and lock her inside. Next day same routine, get inside the trailer, back her out, and drive to a spot in the fairway. Take what we can on my lap as we drive to a spot.

Here you go----now you can see the whole thing. We get filmed often, interviewed. Did win top awards at a few shows.

I loved Pottery Barn, @redstar! But could buy very little as we didn’t have enough luggage allowance to bring much home.
Today, when I wasn’t basking in the sunshine, I have been rained on, and beaten by hailstones. However, I have enjoyed the football, ( younger grandson scored three goals and his team won 4-1) Then I watched older grandson putting in an excellent contribution in a hockey match, with team members and opponents four years older than him ( most of the first team were away on tour) He did really well indeed.
Tomorrow there will be a rugby match in the morning, then I’ll be heading back home.
Feel as if I’ve been away for weeks.
Hope no one loses any body parts before the end of the weekend. Take care out there!

WOW! @redstar What a beautiful car. So much thought and hard work must have gone into producing her to such a wonderful standard. Thank you for showing us the video, I really enjoyed it.

Good morning to one and all. I had more or less sleepless night. After lovely day yesterday, around 1am storm arrived with very high wind, rain, thunders and hail. Up in the hills, where my cottage is, it's still snowing. Foolishly I took out yesterday some seedlings (broccoli, leeks and kohlrabi), and they are all smashed. Weather should improve today. Well, I'm going to make cup of tea.

                            Hello all,

Been a hectic week as ever for me, but sadly today I got knocked off my feet with a nasty chest infection. Slept most of the day, feeling a bit better now, but still very tired. Thought at least it gave me a chance to browse on here.

I'm hoping I'll feel better tomorrow because I've organised cooking a traditional English Sunday Lunch for my French chap, his son and myself and Charlie. He's no idea what a Yorkshire Pudding is and I think my steamed Syrup Sponge and custard will be a very new experience. I've gone to great lengths to get Sunday off work and I'm very upset about being ill now. I'll be in bed very early tonight to try and sleep it off. Fingers crossed.

Charlie has had a super week too, he went to a National Running Championship, met with some Olympic competitors, participated in a big procession of athletes. Managed a PB in his race and I was able to watch it live on TV, even managed to spot him along the 315 other competitors.

Apologies, I wrote this all yesterday and failed to post, update, feeling slightly better.

Hope all of you are ok.
