    Evening everyone.

Just read back on the pages of chats on here. I won’t be able to do 12 hour shifts now I’m on Gardener’s Corner, because there’s too much to catch up on!

Take it easy folks - I’ll check in tomorrow evening.

Hello everyone. I’m finding it confusing trying to get back in to the site each morning. So, here I go again. its12.15 pm on Tuesday 26 March here in NSW.

No clouds in the sky, it was foggy all night and temp on veranda is currently 25.4 and 19.7 in here.

I had to laugh when I looked at the calendar on the kitchen wall and noticed that Hubby has an appointment to see his Oncologist next Friday. Der! Thats Good Friday. I was informed that whoever wrote that on the calendar, was wrong.
Have I told you that he has Prostate Cancer? Can’t remember.

I’ll try to move on and see if I can find where to read back the last week. See you later.

Hi @PatE, a lot to catch up on, on GC! I was away for the weekend, and took ages to read back through. Hope you get your hubbys appointment sorted out! And that all is going well for him.
Easter seems to have crept up so quickly, caused me a moments panic when I realised it is the end of this week. Not that I have anything that needs doing. No visitors this year, and won’t be buying a proper Easter egg as we seem to already have enough chocolate in the house (although I did buy some Ikea mini eggs with hazelnut filling!) I will grab some hot cross buns, though, and I must remember to pick up my prescription before Friday.
The best bit of the bank holiday will be that I get an extra day to fill the green waste bins!

Sounds a good plan, Ergates. I’ve remembered to make an appointment with the Vet for Pixel for her annual checkup. Another week away.

              Good morning all :coffee1:
7C here in Norfolk, overcast and dry … so far … although the app says we may get some drizzle.
Looks like you’re finding your way about here @PatE :) … if it was foggy I don’t suppose you saw the moon eclipse? It was cloudy here too and anyway I was asleep.
Think I’d better make some bread today …

Morning @Dovefromabove and @PatE and anyone to follow.

Hotcross Buns @Ergates thanks for the reminder....hope I'm up to it.

Feeling a lot better, the cough is very annoying, and constant, so sleep is limited, I did manage 4 straight hours last night, so I feel better for that. Hopefully more improvement today, keep taking the tablets as they say.

Misty out, not sure of the forecast, I suppose from the sofa it won't make much difference.

                Have a good day all.

Good morning all. I'm enjoying a hot cross bun at the moment whilst I contemplate my shopping list for today. At the quiz last night I discovered I had been appointed Quiz Master which is a task we all take turns doing. I enjoy this as it reminds me of my teaching days. My team lost 40-63 but we always have a great time so not too dispiriting.
Here's one of the questions for the petrol heads amongst you:
The Zonda, Huayra and Utopia are models manufactured by which supercar manufacturer, founded in 1992? I had never even heard of those cars - never mind the maker which is a firm called Pagani.

Morning Early Risers, and those not so early. Overcast here near the capital of the Fens, it's a bit parky out still.

We've got the dinkiest garden pond imaginable, I rebuilt it last autumn from having a pond liner to a formed pond. The initial dwarf bullrush I planted turned out to be not so dwarf, which triggered the redesign. It's purpose is mainly as a bird watering hole and to attract a few insects. Anyway it's looking a bit murky presently, to help fix the murkiness a dinky solar water fountain was ordered, and it arrived yesterday. This morning I've been rummaging through my fabric stash for something to make a filter bag for the pump, and found some sexy black tulle which will be made into a little filter bag to hold the dinky pump. That'll save me £6 or £7 for such a bag from Amazon.

Had a little walk round the garden while my coffee was cooling, I see there's still no sign of Victoria Rhubarb that's rooted up against an EN facing fence (it's always slow to wake up). To be fair on the rhubarb we've not had an awful lot of warmth from the sun yet.

Have a safe and happy day all you people in gardener's corner x

                        Morning all.

It's raining. The walking club is doing a 5km walk today followed by lunch in a restaurant. When I'm in France I usually do the walk, it's not too taxing and the countryside in this area is pretty, undulating hills, fields, woods and little stone built villages.

I told the club leader that my back had been bad and she said to join them for lunch and bring OH. Other members do that when they aren't up to the walk. We are an elderly bunch! I hope the rain stops before the walk.

I've never heard of those cars either @Ladybird4.

I have hot cross buns in the freezer from England. They don't sell them in France.

Glad you”ll still get your Hot cross buns @Busy-Lizzie …I have been enjoying them with a cup of tea for weeks now. My waistline will be glad when the season is over.

Feeling better today after a weird couple of days when my head was swimming so much I couldn’t make it down the stairs - felt achey too so think it was a bug of some sort.

Out to the greenhouse to sow more seeds this morning, and prick some others out too.

Then up to London this evening for dinner with the Chicklets. They are both living in West London atm (not together) which makes evenings out with the both of them easy peasy.

I’m a bit of a traditionalist about such things and wouldn’t think of eating a Hot Cross Bun before Good Friday or after Easter Sunday. If I want a sweet bun at other times I’d make them without the cross or buy Teacakes or similar. I know folk probably think I’m a bit odd … but it keeps the meaning of the tradition real … bakers weren’t supposed to work on Good Friday, but the cross on the buns showed they’d been blessed by the priest so it was okay. I’m not a churchgoer so it’s not a religious thing for me … I just like the meanings behind traditions. I think it’s important for folk to understand why we do what we do.
A reason for avoiding them at times other than Easter also helps with the calorie intake
Have a lovely time with the Chicklets @Chicky … glad you’re feeling better.
