It was a decent crossing despite blowing a hoolie and lashing with rain (standard for IoW) and we went straight to corisbrook castle where I almost got blown off the battlements!
    Rain has stopped, it's glorious!

Similar weather here @Ergates, we had hail and thunder. Clouds running fast at the moment, not nice to be in the garden so I did some sewing.

Not the done thing to talk to strangers here @redstar. For a start you have to make a choice on which language to use, but I have become quite good at spotting people's nationalities :) based on age, looks and what they wear. A shop assistant here speaks a minimum of 4 languages.

I have heard a funny ad on the radio about Marmite @Tui34. "People wanted to smuggle Marmite to NY for expats' Marmite fix".

Back from our trip to Suffolk which included a gallery visit to discuss OH’s exhibition in the summer. We also visited an award winning farm shop and have come back laden with lamb, poultry, sausages, pies, veg, salad, bread, cakes and hot cross buns.

The weather was fine on our journey south, then the temperature dropped from 11C to 6C in a matter of moments, the wind blew so strongly I could hardly open the car door, and the rain came down like stair rods. On our journey home we got as far as Yoxford and the sun came out, the skies turned blue and the temperature rose again.

“Out of office” activated until Monday :hapydancsmil: (I don’t work in an actual office, but the sentiment stands).

I will need to an emergency SM run tomorrow for decaf teabags. I thought I had a box in the ‘pandemic’ cupboard (still call it that. It’s basically just a cupboard now), but horror of horrors… no. Oo and a spare pair of ‘nude’ tights (wedding on Saturday) as I only have one pair and as every tights-wearing person knows, the ladder gods make no exemption for it being your last pair when you have an important function to attend!

Take care all, particularly those with worries or ailments.

Good evening my friends. Well last night was a bit of a surprise, woke up this morning to quite a load of the white stuff covering the roof, the yard and all the fields. After about half an hour down came the rain and it all washed away. Rather a shame as it well and truly covered all the mud and everything looked so wonderfully 'clean' and tidy for a while.
Over the day the barometer has been dropping steadily (dramatically) so I'm now wondering what the weather has in store for us next?
Stay safe and warm everyone, whatever life or the weather throws at you.

Certainly did not over spend. Went out of curiosity and to use the 5 dollar coupon they sent. Most things there are priced higher than my regular store, and somethings I truly do not need in my life. Even their butter was higher than my regular store. Anyway, I came away knowing what items are there, and spent only $25.00. Will be back to my regular store again, and gratefully.

Reminds me of my dear father, he was born in 1905, was a grocery boy, and he spoke 8 languages. Living in Cleveland, Ohio, was a melting pot of lots of East European folks. Wish I had been smart enough to try to speak one of them, very few words I know. I can still see him today, on a Sunday, he made a huge amount of potato pancakes. We kids loved them. And coming home from work, he seemed to have a little toy in his pocket for my brother and myself. He passed on when I was 21 years old.

                    Morning (very early) all.

I just can't sleep, the constant coughing is driving me mad. I've been downstairs and made myself a hot blackcurrant juice to sooth the throat, but it's actually deep in my chest that's hurting, getting very fed up with it now, it's been a week of this.

I went to CdeG yesterday to make cakes and try and 'work', lasted about 3 hours and had to go upstairs and have a lie down, there's one tiny single bed in the attic for emergencies, I thought I'd just have 40 winks, 2 hours later woke up with no idea where I was. Came home and slept most of the rest of the afternoon. Despite all that I'm still tired, it's not proper sleep when I keep coughing. I suppose it means the medicine is working, it's certainly shifting stuff....just must be a lot of it. Forgive me if that's TMI.

It's raining here too, and seems to be here for a while yet.

Right, I'm going to try and get back to sleep, see you all in the morning.

It was a most puzzling day at the Food Bank yesterday. We were expecting to be rushed off our feet but we only had three clients - two of whom were large families. I hope that this is a positive as we usually deal with at least 12. I never fail to be moved by the generosity of the British public - and the local Tesco store - who provide us with so much food and other essentials. We were able to give every child (53) in the neighbouring primary school an egg each and all the other eggs and chocolate treats, after discussion with the necessary authorities, were delivered to the children's ward of the local hospital. The quiet day did give us a chance to get all of our stock cupboards sorted.

@Loofah, I read that they had to close Corisbrooke castle yesterday at 13:00 - what on earth did you do? Only joking! Apparently it was that bad weather you mentioned that caused the closure. They probably didn't want people being blown off the battlements.

Good morning Dove and all to come. Bright sunshine now, but there's thundery showers expected at some point. I'll have to keep an eye on my washing.
                              Nothing much else planned.
I will have my usual fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, I have coffee available and on the go.
                              Have a lovely day everyone.
