Yawn Yawn Wakey Wakey 2024

Good afternoon all.
Later posting today as we had unexpected visitors.
Had a good catch up and they didn’t want any lunch as they were on their way to other friends for lunch.
Rain stopped play this afternoon so only indoor jobs done!

 

Good afternoon,
The sun is shining at the moment, but it’s been a day of sunshine and showers with a bit of a breeze. At least it stayed dry for my walk to and from the hairdresser this morning.
I’ve spent the early afternoon cleaning downstairs, I’m sure the dust breeds behind my back .
Feet up now until it’s time to prepare dinner. We’re being traditional and having fish this evening.

 

I think @Jazmine will be pleased with the football result.

Supper here is baked buttered trout with lemon, roasted asparagus, watercress and a homemade potato salad with tarragon.

 

That sounds yummy @Dovefromabove. We are having Sea Bass with spinach, runner beans, parsley sauce and potatoes that are rather like hash browns. OH has poached some figs with rose water and cardamon added to the syrup. The figs were in the freezer, from my fig tree.

@Anna42 I much prefer summer time. I hate the dark evenings.

 

A good win for Norwich but apparently it wasn't a particularly good game. Have a lovely evening everyone. We just had pizza - treated by my son- and watched a film together. Family time. Have a lovely evening everyone.

 

@Anna42, I do have to say that I agree about the twice yearly changing of the clocks and I was having a chat with my brother today - saying the same thing. He did point out to me that it had been a hot topic of conversation before he retired. He was a Local Authority Education Officer and one thing I never even thought about was that it had quite a bit to do with schools and the times that the students would be leaving home/school.

 

@Anna42 I find the leap forward in spring far more disruptive then the fall back in autumn.

A local FB group has posted a reminder about the clock change with a subtle message:

"One hour less rain this weekend." Who says the French don't have a sense of humour?

 

I got that message too on Facebook @Obelix-Vendée.

 

@Obelix-Vendée and @Busy-Lizzie, perhaps they got it from the same place I did (my message on Page 89). I got it as a WhatsApp message and it made me smile.

 

@Blue arbour. Your day, weatherwise, sounds very like mine has been. I, like @Brenda, was compelled to do some indoor stuff. Unfortunately I had run out of anaesthetic so the work was definitely done under sufferance!

We’ve had a mixed bag of weather today. I’ve pottered about, had some hot cross buns and been organising things ahead of a trip to a Wedding tomorrow.

Morning all. Actually it’s almost lunch time here, but hubby has just left with a load for the tip, so might wait a while. We just had a visit from a neighbour with a huge armful of Silver Beet. Looks like Hubby will be thinking about various recipes.

A coolish sunny day again with no prospect of rain until next week. I’ll be out with the hose again I suppose.
