This Silent Witness story is quite disturbing, and I love a good murder as much as the next crime thriller fan.

          Night all. Keep cosy.

Glad to see that you are all managing to stay busy clearing up after the Christmas activities, or getting out and about again in spite of the weather. The snow here cleared away within a day or two but since then we seem to get yet another light covering over night which then freezes, icing over completely to give a very dangerous surface to any roads or footpaths. Hoping for a decent day tomorrow as we are expecting a trailer load of those very large bales of hay to feed the ponies for the next few weeks and the 2 mile winding narrow lane up to us from the village below can prove a bit slippery!

Good to hear the news about @Rowlands Castle please give him our best wishes when you next speak to him. I was also wondering about @Badly_Maintained, I hope he is ok.

Please take it easy @AuntyRach and give your back the time to recover properly.

Just looked out of the window and once again I spy those fluffy white bits falling quietly to the ground! Keeping my fingers crossed for my hay delivery tomorrow.

Good morning everyone. Its -1°C outside so I'm sure there will be some icy surfaces in the area. I hope that your hay delivery goes without incident @Anna42. I will pass on your good wishes to Rowland's Castle and if anyone would like his email address to drop him a line I can ask him and pass it on. I've already given it to some people here but like to ask his permission first.

Is it pet food delivery day today @Ante1? @AuntyRach, I thought that Silent Witness was a very tough watch - thoroughly enjoyed it though. It has always been one of my favourite programmes and Rowlands Castle told me on Monday that he was also looking forward to this new series.
I do hope that we hear something from @Badly_Maintained too and that all is well with him.

                  Goodmorning to everyone!

Mild but humid - everything is wet but the sun is coming up and the sky is orange and blue!!

How is the back today @AuntyRach ? And with all aches and twinges - onwards and upwards!!

                  Have an enjoyable day all.

                    Morning folks.

Silent Witness is a great programme but this one was quite upsetting and they are meddling in police work too much for my liking.

My back is still painful, but the pain has moved and is a bit different. I wanted to try to get back to work tomorrow but not sure I can. Thank you for the good wishes - sounds like many can relate.

A cold start to the day and it won’t be above 3 today so the frost and ice will stay put unless the sun peeps out. Take care anyone out and about.

                      Morning all.

It looks cold and bleak outside, a frost but not a pretty white one.

We had a good day in Cambridge. We had lunch in The Anchor by the river and saw the punts, but no one was punting in January! The sun shone but it was only 4C. Liam wanted to see the colleges but they were charging £16 just to walk around the grounds and visit the chapels, so we just peered through the entrance gates. Then I suggested seeing Jesus College where my father went. It was free there, lots of lovely buildings, lawns, flowers beds and snowdrops in flower.

Today will probably be another hibernation day.

Good morning all. I'm typing in wrist warmers and multiple layers of clothing, because our heat pump developed a fault in the middle of last night and is not providing any heat. (Not so helpful when it was minus 4!) The house is cooling only slowly, being well insulated, and I've got the convector & fan heaters down from the loft, so I'll be able to keep warm. Waiting for the plumber to ring back - I expect they're inundated with calls...

My OH is in Cambridge at the moment, visiting old friends, @Busy-Lizzie . I doubt if you'd have noticed a little red car with Irish numberplates... glad you had a good time. We lived in a village just outside Cambridge for a few years after we married, and I worked in the University Library, which was a memorable experience.

Hope you all keep warm today!

Such pretty pictures @Busy-Lizzie! Thank you for sharing. I am so envious of that gorgeous blue sky! Oh my goodness @Liriodendron, that is the last thing that you need in this cold weather. I hope you get it all sorted out soon.

Thanks @Ladybird4 . The plumber has been here for nearly an hour, but thinks the problem is a sensor, which they don't carry as spares. It's almost certainly still under warranty (7 years, he thinks) so at least we shouldn't have to pay for the part, but it might need supplying and fitting by LG. I'll find the thick duvet, and should be warm enough tonight with 2 hot water bottles...

I came back from physio and running errands to find OH had turned off the heating! He was warm enough in his jumper It's just gone back on.

Very wet out there and blowing a hoolie so quiet indoor jobs this pm. I'm going to try making kimchi, have a picture to frame and paperwork to sort out and there's always something to sew.

Haven't seen Silent Witness yet as we've been busy but it's recorded. Maybe this evening.

Hugs, fortitude and sympathy to all who have injuries, ailments or bereavement to process.
