I hope everyone is cosy and warm this evening. I’ve put a cover on the windscreen ready for the chilly morning (out at 06:30).

Time for chicken dinner then a bit of TV - new series of Traitors if you like that?

I have had a very nice start to the new year - lots of lovely phone calls from family and friends. It has started to rain again now after a midday break though. I will do a flower count tomorrow as I do know I have a lot of native primroses in bloom. I am looking forward to the new Vera which starts tonight @AuntyRach. I have never watched Traitors but people I know who have, all rave about it. Signing out now. Enjoy your evenings and I'll catch up with you all tomorrow.

Have a good journey back to the UK @Busy-Lizzie. Tulips need a cold spell before growing so a cold kitchen won't hurt. I did mean however that you could just pot them up in the warmth of your kitchen then put them outside!

I once did that on the dining room table (protected with newspapers!) to sow runner beans because it was too wet outside!
Fortunately we have a laminate floor so any dropped compost was easily swept up.

Brrrrr! Good morning all it is seriously frosty this morning after all that rain yesterday. I am pleased that I am not going to Bestie's today - she texted me to say she was busy with her granddaughter and asked could we leave today's 'meet up' until next week.

                          Good morning everyone!!

We have sun!! Yaaay! It has been dismal and grey for the past week! Hostage today as expecting a delivery between 9 and 1pm. However, the chaps will give me 15minutes warning. (You hope).

I think maybe @Ante1 may not realise that there is a new thread.

                          Keep warm. Stay safe folks.

Good morning and happy new year everyone. Blessings be on all our horticultural endeavours as well as families and friends.

I'm feeling half baked today after being woken by strong winds at 5am and not getting back to sleep. Good job we have nothing planned today other than pottering. It's calmed down now but is tipping down. Minstrel and Cosmos are taking it in turns to sit at the window watching it in disgruntlement.

Have a good journey @Busy-Lizzie and anyone else having to travel. Stay safe.

Only 3C here this morning, but the sun is out and it’s glorious! I have dragged OH out of bed for breakfast at our usual venue, and a walk to follow. OH is inclined to moan about the cold, but we have decent coats to keep us warm, and I am currently wearing a vest, jumper and knitted cardigan thingy, and I’m very cosy! My secret weapon for winter is knee high socks, current favourites are a bamboo mix, nice and soft and very good at keeping the cold out.
Hope all those back at work don’t have their commutes disrupted. We will probably lie low until the schools go back next week.

It's a sparkly morning and we are heading for the Thai supermarket on the Wirral and popping to see a friend in Heswall.
Watched Rogue Heroes last night. Dad's brother was part of the invasion of Sicily - though not, I think, part of the SAS. I have a small piece of Roman tiled floor that he brought back as a 'souvenir'. Part of me thinks it should be returned to its original site, but I wouldn't know where to start - plus, he wouldn't have been the only one doing such a thing.
Anyway, back to my list for the Thai SM...
                                Stay warm today...
