Good morning all. Still dark, but I can see and hear, that it's an awful start of the day. Currently is -1℃ and very high wind. Pets are fed, and I can have my tea before going out. Hope the weather is better up there. Fourteen days more till my small trip.

Good morning @Ante1. I'm guessing that this is a Saturday you will not be needed to go in to teach with such bad weather? May be wrong there though. Cricket is having his breakfast now. It seems to be dry outside.

Morning @Ladybird4. You are correct, no school today. I know it's winter, but such bad weather almost ten days in a row is very unusual. Hope it will settle soon.

-1°C here too @Ante1 We got up to 11°C yesterday afternoon - unlike you, the wind has dropped making the days quite pleasant. When there's wind, it feels 5°C less, doesn't it. Brrr!!

Enjoy your Saturday for those who are lucky enough not to work weekends.

We’re off to Beaumaris, Anglesey, for a few days as a treat for OH’s birthday. The weather looks sunny so fingers crossed. We were hoping to visit Bodnant Gardens on the drive in but it’s closed due to a water mains problem. We might try Erddigg Hall instead.

Hope you wrapped up warm on your cycle ride this morning @Tui34. Its just dreary grey and chilly here. Might be forced to do some HW. Eeek what am I saying! I think I need to lie down in a dark room with a wet cloth on my head!
@Butterfly6, have a wonderful stop over. Shame about Bodnant but I did see on the Beeb this morning the water problems in and around Conwy. Supposed to be sorted out by tomorrow so could you call in on your way back? I love Bodnant and often used to take my Mum there. I have had Eucryphias growing in my garden having been introduced to them at Bodnant. Wonderful scent when they are in flower. I'm always in awe of the wonderful cedar tree (hope its still standing after the various storms we have had recently) but decided that would be too big a memory plant to put in my small piece of heaven on earth.

We had an absolutely outstanding tapas evening. The place was packed with happy people, so there was a great atmosphere. I chose garlic mushrooms (not your standard white field ones, but ceps and enoki - big meaty pieces), hake in a beautiful light sauce and paella, which came in quite a large portion, with plenty of seafood, chicken and chorizo. All four of us could not fault a thing and the waiting staff did a superb job.
Enjoy Beaumaris and the beautiful isle of Anglesey, @Butterfly6. Shame about Bodnant. I was going to suggest Conwy water gardens as an alternative, but of course, they're shut, too. Plas Cadnant in Menai Bridge is also worth a visit and they may be open for their snowdrop trail.
Enjoy your lunch out today @Obelix-Vendée
Hope the day is kind to you everyone, wherever you are.

                      Hello all.

I hope you have a lovely time @Butterfly6

That Tapas menu looked mouth watering @Penny_Forthem. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hope @Obelix-Vendée enjoys her meal too, another delicious looking menu.

Did anyone watch Monty's British Gardens last night? I am enjoying it but it's a bit frustrating, very short garden visits and there is quite a lot of history but not enough about plants. There is a glorious garden, Holehird near Windermere, but he chose Hilltop instead. Hilltop is interesting but not a patch on Holehird from the garden point of view.

@Ladybird4 are you going to lie down in a dark room with a wet cloth on your head before or after the HW? I think the HW would be more fun! ;) :heehee:

I watched it @Busy-Lizzie. I just want to see the gardens and try to identify the plants shown and, as I said last week, I don't really listen to Monty. I enjoyed the programme and I though that Wildflower Alley was inspirational.
I will be lying down in the dark room with the wet cloth on my head simply for just THINKING about doing HW. :ideaIPB:

Love your attitude to HW, @Ladybird4! Never seems much point doing it when it needs doing again the next day. I tend to let it build up a bit and get rid of several days worth in one go!
Wasted the morning sitting around reading, but threw some clothes on and headed out to the garden. Spent 90 minutes out there, and consigned a load of twigs and branches to the green bins. Also pulled up a load of ivy. There is a lot to be said for tackling some tasks during the winter when it’s easier to see what’s what. In a few weeks, the place will start looking like Jurassic Park. A friend is sending me contact details for one of her gardeners, and I’m planning to find out if she will come and do some sessions for me. Fingers crossed, please! It seems to take me months if not years to progress a plan, and getting help in the garden has been on my new year resolution lists for about five years!

I forgot to mention Breezy Knees garden in my last post about Monty. We went there a few years ago. It was beautiful, one of my favourite gardens, so many flowers.

Afternoon all. I had an easy day with just few things to do. Outside is still quite rough. and it was like that whole day. Tomorrow should be better. My pets are also whole day inside. I ordered some sees, and more or less it will be all for next season. I stole next pictures from my friend, who is crazy enough to walk around.

Oh my goodness @Ante1. The sea in the first picture looks really stormy - but beautiful. I don't think anyone should be out in that weather. What seeds did you order - ornamentals for your garden or this year's veggie crops. I was looking at some of my seeds today and I don't need to buy any more.
