    Hi everyone,
Still having good and bad days, cannot yet face all of the dog walkers and pooches that use the Village Green and knew Rob.
I have been working my way through appointments to go to and be made.
Have changed dentists, an assessment in 3 weeks time with a different one.
Went to the physio for a second visit. She gave me a weaker band to use in the exercises, said I should talk to someone about the pain I experience, asked at the Drs. and have an appointment in 3 weeks time.
I have also changed hairdressers, am trying one in a weeks time much nearer where I live and £20.00 cheaper. I finally decided £43.00 was excessive for a shampoo, cut and blow dry.
I spent several hours finding, amending and collating an Allotment Rental Agreement for my club who have been asked by a couple to rent a spare piece of ground for them to use as an allotment. It now has to go to the committee and trustees for their approval before being submitted to the tenants for their acceptance or otherwise.
I did some more batch cooking and have a Pavlova drying out in the dehumidifier for 8 hrs.? I hope it works! I had 4 egg whites to use up.
I went to a GC with my daughter and son in law to buy some farm yard manure but they were out of stock. I topped up my veg. seed store and my daughter topped up her sweet pea seed store. I priced their Corylopsis and Chimonanthus. Wow! £35.00 and £70.00 respectively. They were well grown, healthy specimens but too much for me.
I have also had a visit to a chiropodist, I have to go every 5/6 weeks as a replacement knee and ankle stops me from being able to reach my foot well enough to cut my toe nails etc.
I am taking each day as it comes, almost got some washing dry yesterday despite there being hardly any sun.
There are so many jobs need doing inside and out in the garden I am spoilt for choice. I usually end up not doing any of them!

G'day everyone. It' is very cold and grey again today but not as cold and grey as yesterday. It never got above freezing in La Rochelle and there was a naughty wind blowing but it is still and calm here. We walked all round the pedestrian area by the port but did not find anything to suit Possum who is still looking for a good winter coat. I'll end up making her one.

Lunch was fab and the restaurant very busy. It's a tourist destination so quite a few places were closed but, just off the waterfront by the two towers is an evolving scene of modern French and ethnic influenced eateries. It has certainly evolved since we first moved here and there were several more we passed on the way to ours that have peaked our interest.

Finished our visit with a raid on an Asian SM so got home late afternoon and tired so no progress on painting the sewing room but this morning I did the last coat on 2 picture frames and the body of a chest of drawers. This pm will be a coat of paint on the new skirting boards and a second coat on the door and window sill. I've timed this well as there's definitely no gardening in view for at least another week or two and we're expecting visitors next week..

Very expressive picture @Penny_Forthem. Glad you enjoyed your visit @lizzie27. Good luck with your painting @Ante1. I like a wild sea too @Tui34 but no longer want to be out on it in a sailing boat.

      Enjoy your day everyone.

        Hello all.

It sounds as though you had a good few days @lizzie27, apart from the driving.

I'm glad you enjoyed lunch @Obelix-Vendée, the menu looked great. Have you been to the aquarium? We thought it was quite impressive. OH bought me a coat for Christmas from Armand Thierry. Did you look there? I expect there are sales and Spring things will be coming in soon.

We went to Screwfix to pick up some things that OH had ordered. One was a wedge for log splitting. The wedge is now stuck in the first log that OH has tried to split. He thought he could do it with a club hammer but he needs a sledgehammer, hasn't got one here.

We went to the aquarium years ago @Busy-Lizzie and really enjoyed it. Probably time for another visit. She didn't like anything in Armand Thierry or Galéries Lafayette or a host of other individual boutique shops in Nantes and La Rochelle. We did find one I really liked on her in Toscane before Xmas but she felt it was only OK and, at 300€, it needed to be fab.

It's not easy finding something for her height and she has broad, swimmer's shoulders, not that she's been swimming this last year or so cos the club and pool are at Luçon and she works at Dompierre-sur-Yon so it's a trek too far.

Painting and varnishing done for the day. It's her birthday tomorrow and she'd like a cake for us and some biscuits for her work colleagues. Apparently they don't trust British cakes so biscuits for them. That's me busy for the rest of the afternoon then.

It's so cold here we've lit the log fire again today.

10:45 AM here. Sounds like most been busy with tasks, and upcoming events. more snow just started to come down here. filled suet and bird feeders.
doing laundry, whoopie. packing, bill paying, tidy up house etc. exercise for wrist. and misc. stuff to deal with. or not, might settle a little with some Netflix later and a cup of tea.
Husband napping now. Take care all.

We have been up to the Clwydians with the dogs - still pockets of snow around. We're all tired now.
We made a detour on the way home to see one of the 'Banksy' paintings - the cow. Might not be a proper one, but it looks great.
I wonder why the French don't trust our cakes @Obelix-Vendée. I'm sure you could show them a sponge or two.
I needed mace for a new batch of garam masala. Can't find it at Tesco, Morrisons or Waitrose. Most odd.

Evening. Feels Baltic tonight. Chicken dinner and an extra fleece should help. The teddy bear sheets and pillow cases are excellent on the bed on cold nights (plus leccy blanket) = game-changing.

                Keep warm and cosy folks.

Evening all. Still very cold. I finished with painting, but next time will wait for @Songbird. Regarding the sea, I respect it but last fourteen years I didn't set my foot in. As a kid, I could swim for hours, and far from shore, but now I feel very uncomfortable. Time for dinner and my tea.

Good evening all. Goodness @lizzie27, you have been busy the last few days. I can completely agree with you about the roads around Manchester Airport. Nightmarish! I think you deserve a couple of days to rest and recuperate. @AuntyRach, I bet you had to down your cuppa quickly before it got cold!

                      Good evening everyone,

It’s been cold and grey here today, no sunshine about at all and not rising above 2 degrees C.
I went to church this morning but since then have stayed indoors. Dinner very soon, a beef stew that has been simmering in the slow pot. Just waiting for the potatoes to cook for mashing.

We watched an old film this afternoon- The Bishop’s Wife with David Niven. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve seen it before, of course, but not for a long time.

I love your picture @Penny_Forthem. You are very talented.

                      Enjoy your trip @redstar.

Evening all. Cake baked, biscuits made, an apple and cinnamon pie made and ready to bake when the chicken comes out of the oven. Busy busy and the kitchen definitely needed my kitchen boy to get back from his golf meeting. Before he left he piled a load of damp wood on the fire and I've had that to deal with too. Doh!

@Penny_Forthem Sensible French people love my cakes. At the gardening club I am known as Madame Gâteau. The patch ladies always want the recipe. The people Possum works with are mostly young and surprisingly unadventurous about food. She's gone to company events with buffet lunches catered by Michelin star chefs and been the only one to try all the different nibbles and dishes on offer..

Good to see you @Goldenlily and I do understand. I can't yet bring myself to go on local walkies I did with the dogs.

Our weather forecast has changed. I was planning a bit of a gardening blitz next weekend once my sewing room is back in place but, as of Friday, we're expecting strong winds and rain again.
                              humph!
