    Good morning all.

It looks cold and foggy outside. I will sort photos on my laptop to put into my Photobox album.

I was wondering, @Ladybird4, how you will do the HW if you are under the influence of a general anaesthetic!

Ah ha @Busy-Lizzie, you caught me out there. You see IF I have a general anaesthetic then how can I POSSIBLY do the dreaded HW. Answer - I don't but I wake up thinking I have DONE it! Q.E.D.

Morning folks. I’m ’afternoons’ today so just pottering about until then. I could do HW… but it’s a working day so no. It’s a bit chilly but I’ll have a cuppa outside now so I can see a bit of light before I go in. I think I can see blossom buds on my big red cherry tree - that’s aways the first of my trees to bloom.

        Have a decent day folks.

Morning all, cold but sunny at the moment so think I'll join OH on our usual morning walk - must get more exercise - like Ante.
Cherry crumble with icecream sounds absolutely divine @Penny_Forthem.

I'm a bit grumpy today as I think the Polymyalgia is returning. I stopped taking the steroids just before Xmas as instructed after 18 months but am suddenly very stiff with painful joints. Trying to get hold of my GP so see what he advises as I'm self medicating with left over steroids.

I'm less grumpy though when after weighing myself today I saw I'm very nearly back to my pre Xmas weight - however did that happen after eating Xmas chocs most evenings and after a few days away!

I have an aromatherapy facial booked for this afternoon - OH's Xmas presie to me. Can't wait as it's absolute bliss. It includes a neck and shoulder massage as well which hopefully will ease my shoulders.

Lovely story about the ponies @Anna42 . We watch the cows and now sheep in the fields on the hill opposite and occasionally they will suddenly go berserk and rush about. One starts to break into a trot then they all follow and stampede down the hill.

Have a good day folks. Hope your afternoon work is not too busy @AuntyRach.

I'm having a lazy morning. No art this afternoon, as hub has a meds review, so I'm taxi.
I've organised the lovely chap who cuts our grass, to come and do some digging and small, but heavy, jobs for me.
2 hours for £50 sounds OK and he's a hard worker.
Our neighbour commented yesterday that she could hear a high pitched, intermittent whining noise. As we had the bedroom window open last night, I heard it too. Most puzzling.
Any news on how Liam is settling in to uni life @Busy-Lizzie?
Well done on the weight @lizzie27. I really need to knuckle down. Cherry crumble and ice cream was very tasty, but not recommended for weight loss!

A late good morning to you all,

Yet another damp, chilly grey day. I do wish the sun would return - I think we all need something to lift our spirits a bit. I do anyway - January seems to go on and on and the world feels in turmoil right now. Oh well, onwards and upwards, as they say.

Popping out for lunch today, so that should cheer me up a bit.

I hope your Polymyalgia is not returning @lizzie27 and that you can get to see your doctor. Your aromatherapy facial this afternoon sounds good, though and I hope it relaxes you.

Fngers crossed that your opposing quiz team next week are not as unpleasant and unfriendly as they sound @Ladybird4. I don’t see the point in such behaviour. Aren’t these quizzes meant to be fun? Still, as in everything, there are always some who take things ultra seriously. Kill them with kindness .

Thanks for asking @Penny_Forthem. Liam is fine but he thinks he will end up speaking English with an Indian accent. His 3 flatmates are from India and the kitchen smells of curry. That's OK as he likes curry.

I'm sorry about your Polymyalgia @lizzie27

Just arrived back from Anglesey. We had a lovely break with lots of delicious food, roaring fires and windy walks along the beach. We were quite lucky with the weather and even had some sunshine, just warm enough to sit for half an hour on the prom Sunday afternoon. We also had some your atmospheric dragon’s breath @Anna42

Bodnant reopened Sunday and we visited yesterday, managing to miss the rain showers it was a very mild, still day. The whole garden is beautiful but the winter garden was glowing with colour and the scent from the Daphnes was wonderful. They had some beautiful Witch Hazels in flower, but I always find their scent very elusive, in fact I can rarely smell anything from them at all.

Plas Cadnant is on the list for our next visit as it’s closed over winter. We did visit Erddigg in the way, fabulous formal walled garden and Plas Newydd on Anglesey, more grounds than gardens but lovely view of the Menai Straits.

Have had a quick scan back at all the chatter. Hope you’ve all enjoyed your birthday teas, crumbles, quizzes and frolicking ponies. Well done to all those decorating, sorting out admin and contracts and garden jobs.

Commiserations @lizzie27 on your aching joints. My SIL has developed polymyalgia over the last couple of years and I’ve seen how painful it can be.

                    Good afternoon all!

We had dense fog this morning, but it has now dispersed and left a lovely sunny afternoon. I might get some more of the rugosa rose hedge pruned, but I've also promised OH that I'll help him clean the car - there's something unpleasant on the windscreen, a bit oily, I think, and he hasn't managed to shift it.

Hope you're all managing to spend a nice afternoon, and pushing the news to the back of your mind for a bit...

Good evening all. @Ladybird4 thank you for sending my a plane, but I doubt it will handle with my height and even more weight. :)
It was an easy day, and I only needed to go to the bank after school. My pound banknotes arrived and I collected them. I'll have and early dinner and after read and watch tv.

I did enjoy my facial this afternoon, a whole hour wrapped in blankets on a heated massage table, very cosy!
Came home smelling of geranium - good for rebalancing your skin apparently. I take all such claims with a pinch of salt of course but my face does feel beautifully soft.

I tried to circumvent the dreaded 8 am surgery bunfight by dropping in a letter to my GP at the surgery asking for a text or call back. It didn't work as the receptionist telephoned later to say I had to ring tomorrow morning. I'll have to set the alarm clock and sit there with a stop watch!

I'm glad you had a good time in Anglesey, @Butterfly6.

It was 6C here but no sun, just cold and grey.

I think everyone has been busier than me. I will go square eyed. Chosen photos for my album from my computer, done Wordle, Quordle, Octordle, The Blossom Game and the Times Quiz. Looked up places to visit when daughters come in April. Watched Father Brown on TV.

I had a lazy morning reading but only because OH drove off to golf with the glue gun and glue I need to fix the new skirting boards in place. He didn't get home till 5pm by which time it was too late to start so I've contented myself with some pottering.

This pm I had a run out to the north of La Roche to collect 7 bags of professional compost for when I get sowing and pricking out and potting on. A colleague in Asphodèle gets a couple of pallets a year from a contact with a nursery. It's consistent in quality and texture so is worth it.

It's been much warmer today and there was a brief bit of sun but rain and winds are coming soon.

Glad you enjoyed your facial @lizzie27. I used to go in Belgium and have my eyebrows threaded too but haven't since we moved here. I did look into having a special hair treatment when I go for my 2 year haircut next month but decided I'd rather buy the stuff and do it myself and spend the difference on plants or patchwork fabrics. I do not enjoy going to the hairdresser and can save time and sow or sew while the mask is on at home.

I hope everyone is well. Have a lovely evening.

@Ante1 , are you planning a plane trip soon? Lovely:biggrin: Hope wherever you are going you have a wonderful time. Hope you get the painting finished by then!
@lizzie27 , that is similar to here re the doctors re being ready early in the morning except that we can’t even telephone them for an appointment now. We have to use an e consult form , on-line, and have to be ready to get in there on the dot, sharp, at 8.30am as , by 9.00am, all the available e consults are used up! Good luck. I have every sympathy with your condition, very painful.

Sow or sew, love it, @Obelix-Vendée! How daft of the receptionist, @lizzie27, you would think they would have booked you an appointment while they had taken the trouble to ring you! Our surgery seems somewhat better organised. It is possible to book things like regular blood tests, or nurse appointments for long term conditions on line. However, I’ve found it easier to ring the surgery around 5/ 5.30 pm. Rarely am I further down the queue than third place, and they will book the appointments I need over the phone. Very grateful that they seem to be fairly efficient.
Did I miss something, @Ante1? Are you planning a trip to the UK?
