Good morning one and all. The wind is building up now. I don't think I will be going out to Canasta today, in fact we are all being advised to stay inside.

2°C this morning - a 9°C difference than yesterday - really weird weather. It was a windy but sunny day yesterday so I did some digging over and attacked a hidden bramble which I think I successfully removed. It seems to have stemmed from some raspberry canes (established) - is that possible? It had very long thin ... branches and definitely bramble leaves. I dubiously left the raspberry canes - we'll see in the spring.

Market this morning for fresh eggs and a pit stop at a friend's with her sourdough starter which I have been "mothering" during her absence.

Patience for all the workers today - last day of the week (for some)!!

 

I really hope @Liriodendron and @Badly_Maintained are safe in this wild weather. It is gradually building up in strength here but there have been some scary pictures on the Beeb from areas in Ireland.

 

@AuntyRach, I'm with you in finding recent news difficult. The latest because it is so close to where I live and my Bestie's Mum and two of our First Friday lunchers actually live in that town.

 

Morning. A very disturbed night. Off to the chiropodist soon, but planned a route that doesn't go through a wood.
Wind is dreadful, but I think many have it far worse.

Very windy here but not too bad compared with elsewhere. I hope no one has damage.

Weekly SM shop today.

 

Windy here but not as bad as Storm Daragh, strong gusts rather than anything else but glorious sunshine.

Morning everybody, it's a bit windy this morning and we had one big gust in the early hours which woke both of us up but apart from that, it's fine. We've even got sunshine and the gauge shows 9.4c but it doesn't feel like it outside. Did think of getting OH out to prune the apple trees but as I'd have to supervise, thought better of it.

Instead, I'm planning to empty a bookcase in the living room and get OH to move it out as I suspect we've got severe damp behind it. Do hope not but need to check.

Hope everyone stays safe and properties don't sustain any damage.

 

9C and a bit of sun. I was woken a couple of times in the night by gusts of wind ( outside!) but it all looks calm here this morning. No signs of any extra branches or twigs down, and the bins and the dodgy conifer in a pot are all still upright. Forecast now is for ice overnight. Probably will have a day at home, although OH is always tempted by a drive to the coast for high tide. Sadly I will have to do some housework. I can manage to keep the dishwasher loaded, but I seem to have accumulated rather a lot of wash by hand stuff that will need dealing with. Very boring.
Hope @AuntyRach got to work safely. Those working hours would do me in!
