Morning all. Broken sleep so a bit bleary, but time to dress and venture out… might just top my cuppa up first…

Have a good Monday everyone - catch you all later.

Good morning @AuntyRach and all arriving soon. A solemn memorial day today. Impossible to believe such horrors could have occurred. In certain circumstances it seems that mankind has still not learned anything.

Good morning @AuntyRach, @Ladybird4 and all to follow. Sorry to hear that you had a broken night @AuntyRach.
What to say, it's another Monday. Sunny, warm and windy outside. It's time to finish my tea and start a day. Have a nice day and see you all later.

On a lighter note I have to get my paltry BGBW results sent off today. I feel that, overall, these results will be very skewed because of the inclement weather. I hope all those living down south will stay safe from storm Herminia. It is not sounding too good.

I wonder if Storm Herminia has already been through here, or whether we have more to come?
I woke around 5am to the sound of thunder. Quite a big and noisy storm with lightning, then a heavy downpour. It’s now 9.50am and sunny, but less than half an hour ago, it was as dark as twilight and we had more heavy rain.
No plans to go out today. OH ‘s tickly throat is now accompanied by a hacking cough and a runny nose. He says he doesn’t feel too bad considering, but I shall encourage him to have a restful day and do some hobbies. Shame, he was hoping to finish off the bathroom painting today, but I think he’d better take it easy.
A lot of flooding on nearby roads, and ice just south of Exeter. Hope everyone copes ok today.

                Good morning all.

Our church has pews @lizzie27 with long blue cushions. I don't think they will be changed, there is beautiful old carving and it's listed Grade 1. I put a photo of it on the photo competition thread. There is a kitchen area and 2 loos, thank goodness. The heating was better but it seems to be on the blink.

It rained in the night, sun has just been out but dark clouds are coming, so it will be a photo sorting for album, online, and HW sort of day.

Hello all, we seem to be escaping the very worst of the weather at the moment, a lot of cloud, some sun and plenty of rain.
I'm struggling a bit at the moment with balance and dizziness which comes and goes from time to time, when I lie down is the worst, so i thought I would do the exercises! Well I nearly fell off the bed when I went to one side, I had to get upright quickly. You are supposed to work through the dizziness and carry on!! I will try again later but make sure OH is there to stop me falling. I need to get this sorted before our trip to the UK at the end of February!
Keep safe everyone in the wind and rain, catch up later.

We seem to have got off pretty lightly from Herminia, fingers crossed.
Family coming for supper tonight - Harissa chicken and orzo bake.
Unfortunately, Tesco have subbed my chosen dessert, but as I don't want to go out and buy another, or make one, it'll have to do.
Dizziness is never pleasant @floralies. Hope you get it sorted asap.

Afternoon all. So sorry to hear about your OH's symptoms @Ergates and I can totally empathise as that is how my wretched bug started (on December 10th) and I am still coughing for England. I have taken advantage of the stiff breeze to get more washing done. I'll be checking on it in a moment. League quizzing tonight - away match against the most disliked team in the league (they cheat!) but they are better than us so I am expecting a drubbing.
@floralies I feel so sympathetic reading about your dizziness. It is a most disconcerting feeling. You stay safe too and keep your OH close in case you feel you may totter again.
@Penny_Forthem, once more your meal sounds delicious. Its unfortunate that your dessert didn't materialise but I'm sure the main course will fill everyone up. Chicken is such a wonderful meat to cook with as it is so incredibly versatile.

I'm sorry you are having dizzy spells @floralies. Could it be something to do with your ears?

My day wasn't as I thought it would be this morning. The rain stopped and it was quite mild outside. I've finished cutting back the honeysuckle and the ivy and pruning the Albertine rose that was mostly buried underneath. I haven't finished tying in the rose as it started to rain again.

Another wood delivery arrived this afternoon so, as the rain had stopped, we stacked it in the car port.

Good evening all. It was another regular Monday without any surprises. Another warm and grey day. I already made plans for my trip, but must make one change. One of our friends put the bug in my ear, and luckily I have time to visit British library. I'll have my dinner now, something light, cup of tea, and then sofa and tv. I found Christin's garden and will watch it. It was always my favorite.

'Evening all. Very stormy night so not a good sleep and had to be up and out by 9am to get to Les Sables where I had 11 ladies booked in to learn stained glass patchwork. Interesting 42km trip negotiating fallen trees and branches.

2 turned up on time but one had forgotten her machine. Two sent messages saying they were ill and couldn't come. A third turned up late without her machine and with the wrong kind of fabric so had to go home. Good start.

For the afternoon session, one is in a wheelchair after breaking her heel in a fall so can't do it yet, one just wanted the instructions to follow at home and another had been to the dentist but didn't think to tell me. That leaves 5 who either have the flu or were frightened of the weather.

We had a violent storm in the afternoon with lots of banging and blowing and hailstones and there's more of that due later this evening. Herminia is having a fine time here. Lots of flooding, trees down, roofs lifted, polytunnels shredded, dunes being re-organised...........

I hope you can get yourself sorted in time for your trip @floralies.

Have a safe and cosy evening everyone.
