Hello all, my dizziness/ vertigo has worsened with the exercises so will not do them anymore as they are making me feel quite ill! I had some medication some years ago so will go to the pharmacy and get some, I seem to recall it worked well. Yes @Busy-Lizzie it is my left ear and osteoarthritis in my neck causing the problems!
I think this winter is getting me down also, probably like everyone else! Roll on spring! :spinning:

      Good morning all.

@Ladybird4, Christine Walkden, the one we know of and love, hasn't died, although someone on Facebook thought she had, wrong Christine!

Wet and windy today. Another indoor day, though it was good to get outside yesterday, between showers.

Hello everyone, we're back home after a very enjoyable weekend with my son and his family.
Also enjoyed a long walk on the Saturday along the beach front watching some big waves crash in, it was quite blowy. Sunday though, was quite horrid, torrential rain and very high winds. DIL very kindly took me off to Dunelm in the afternoon to have a mooch in the dry and I indulged in a bit of retail therapy.

Didn't have a very good night last night - too much broccoli! so woke up late and had only just got out the shower at 10.30 ish when a friend arrived unexpectedly. She often drops in after dropping a patient at the local hospital and it's always nice to see her. Then a delivery chappie turned up with the birdseed I'd ordered and the boiler man is coming later to service the boiler.
I'd also forgotten to do my supermarket order for Thursday but managed to bag my usual slot just now. It's all go here today. No gardening though as it's still cold and wet, unfortunately.

Hope your day is not quite as chaotic as mine is!

An even blowier night last night so feeling a bit groggy today. No way we can be outdoors so i'm on big fridge cleaning, bread baking and general cleaning and preps for cousin and her OH who should arrive this evening for a 2 day visit. I'm doing a curry for dinner as they've been in the Alps skiing for a month and won't have had one for ages.

Hope you can get some good meds @floralies. Pleased you enjoyed your weekend @lizzie27.
have fun with your study reorganisation @Ladybird4.

I wish us all a bit of sunshine and a safe afternoon while these storms blow thru.

Drizzly and dull here again this morning. We popped into the local town to collect a regular prescription. The main town car park is attached to a supermarket, so it seemed churlish not to go in for a look round, and I needed some of their own brand tea bags. Came home with lots of goodies, including fresh rolls from their bakery. These loyalty cards are all very helpful until I get tempted by special offers, which I certainly did today! Having just eaten a very nice pastry with my coffee, dinner has been demoted to soup with crusty rolls.
I popped out amidst the squalls yesterday to pick up the twigs on the drive. Plenty more there today. However, I’m pleased to see the snowdrops coming up in the front garden. I transplanted them from a big patch on the side lawn a few years ago, and they seem very happy. More there each year.
Poor @floralies, hope you can get some medication to help with the dizziness, really horrid.

Good afternoon everyone, wet and windy here too , though the rain is on/off.
We've had our retail therapy, our favourite GC, for some seeds and principally for seed potatoes. They sell them loose and prepackaged. The loose are great as you pay a fixed price and fill a bag. It allows you to mix and match to your own requirements. I always take some kitchen paper to separate the varieties. Then came home the alternative way to go to the hypermarket at London Colney, so food shopping done too. Late lunch at home, it's tempting to eat out but the GC, revamped their cafe in lockdown and TBH, it's not as good less choice etc, still OK but not as tempting as before in our view.

I could very well have read the incorrect obit too @Bluejayway and @AnniD. If so then that is fantastic news she is still with us.
@Penny_Forthem I had a look at the link you posted and I have already seen 2 hanging basket brackets that I would like.

Sorry to read that your vertigo has worsened @floralies. That must be a terrible affliction to try and cope with. @lizzie27 I'm exhausted just reading about your hectic few days! @Obelix-Vendée I cannot believe how much junk I had accumulated in my study. I have a lot of archaic electrical 'stuff' which will need a drive to the tip as it cannot be put in my normal domestic waste bin.

I have some news from @Liriodendron. They have the power back but no Internet. Unfortunately the freezer defrosted but at least they are warm and have hot water.

Afternoon all. We had thunder storm and rain, luckily only short episode. I simply love Christine's Garden, even it was made almost 20 years ago. I also have her book about how they make a show. Pets have their dinner, and now is my turn.

                          Evening everyone.

Vertigo sounds really horrible @floralies - there is definitely medication to try.

Sounds like people have had productive days. I’ve had a bit of a nothing day but a nice pause between work shifts. I have made a stew for tonight though and there should be leftovers for tomorrow.

                          Another Christine fan here.

Have a relaxing evening folks (unless you want to be all energetic and busy of course).

I went to art, but there was no heating in the room - it was c.c...cold! None of us stayed more than 2 hours. I have just about got warm now.
I was going to pop into Lidl on the way home, but the heavens opened and I really didn't fancy getting wet, as well as cold.
Yes, there are some interesting things there @Ladybird4.
Tomorrow will be a compromise, between starting to get the greenhouse spring ready and going out, so that hub can get out of the house. I'm lucky in that I can drive, but he doesn't, so is dependent upon my taxi skills!
We have booked the lunar new year 'Chinese banquet' at the local in the evening, with DiL's parents. At least it's walking distance.

Mention of London Colney took me back to the early 70s, @Allotment Boy! We lived in Hatfield and I used to drive along the A414 to work in Hemel Hempstead.
We can put small electrical / electronic items into one of our recycling bins, @Ladybird4 We also have a collection of archaic stuff that needs to go, just can’t get OH to part with them!
