    Evening everyone.

Sincere condolences to @Goldenlily26 - falling asleep for the last time at home is how most of us would want it. Take extra care of yourself at this sad time.

Yes @Ladybird4. For most long journeys she definitely is not as good a map reader as I am so I tend to go with a list of places and roads and a map as backup but, when going to towns I don't know well she's invaluable for finding the right street leaving me to concentrate on other traffic.

We mostly have the sound off as we have her set to English (OH's French and hearing not up to it otherwise) and the automated voice is hopeless at French pronunciation to the point where we can't even guess at what she was trying to say - other than turn right etc - or we fall about laughing which isn't good for driving either.

I’ve been outside nearly all day! Tree pruning before nesting season. So much done, but more to do. Coffee and warm-up now before a nice hot shower and some food.

        Take care all.

@AuntyRach, I managed to get a huge clematis cut back and I pulled out all the dead stems of last year's sweetpeas and managed to get all of that into my green bin just before it was emptied. It was lovely being outside even though it rained for a little while this afternoon. House is reasonably 'disguised' as tidy, ready for the plumber's visit tomorrow.

So sorry to hear about the sudden loss of your sister @Goldenlily26, you are certainly having more than a fair share of difficulties just now and I feel for you. Hope the memories of your sister are good ones and help you to process the bereavement.

I'm so sorry to read about your sister @Goldenlily26, what a shock it must have been for you. I'm glad you have your family but you must be feeling very empty without your sister.

I had meant to do some gardening this morning before going to the pub, but I didn't. It was lovely and sunny but cold, which makes my eyes watery. Also I don't have anywhere to put garden rubbish until the bin is emptied tomorrow. We also have 3 big cylindrical bags to take to the tip tomorrow.

We had scampi, chips and peas for lunch in the pub then I did HW in the afternoon. Cleaned the dining room and sitting room as we have friends coming for Sunday lunch.

I never had a sister (or brother) as Mum married late in life. I am envious of the bond you had @Goldenlily26, but I'm sure it endures beyond grief.
My activity tracker has been 'bound' with the phone app (who thinks of this terminology?) and is happily talking to it. We have been out looking at a new forest trail which would be suitable for the dogs. I seem to have done a puny number of steps.
                  I'm sure it's lying!
Tomorrow's job is to plant horseradish roots in potato sacks.

I used to be astounded by some of my readings @Penny_Forthem and then discovered that the movements I made whilst knitting shot the readings up. T'was a bit of a let down really. My phone is paired with my car and they communicate with one another - without my express permission.

I think I may be in the minority here, but I love the Apprentice. Having had my own business, after being an English teacher, I sure am amazed at the idiocy of some of them.

May I also add my sympathy and condolences to @Goldenlily26 and her family and to her sister's immediate family, for her sister's passing. Although possibly expected, it must have been a real shock to all concerned. Please take care of yourself and try to take comfort from the fact that it happened in her own home just as she wished. My thoughts are with you at this sad time.

Good morning one and all. Can't believe it is 5 years since the first rumblings of Covid hit the world. Time seems to fly past.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Apprentice last night - the usual young hopefuls who remind me so much of my classes when I was at work. The team, in which my favourite to be fired was a member, won, so there will be another week to watch her rude interruptions and bullying tactics. Knowing my experiences, she will probably end up being the one Sir Alan ends up giving the £250,000 prize to. Hey ho. Here's for next week. I did enjoy the wonderful views of Austria where the first activity was situated. It reminded me of a holiday I had with my sis and her family in Söll.

                                Good morning all.

                                Looks gloomy outside.
We are going to the tip to empty garden waste then on to Waitrose for the weekly shop. We don't go there often because it's the furthest SM from us but the re-cycling centre is on the way. I'm hoping Waitrose will give me some ideas for a light first course for Sunday lunch as we have friends coming.
