Yawn Yawn Wakey Wakey 2025

Good afternoon all. I managed to get some washing done today after replacing all the shifted stuff. The sun shone for a while and there was a bit of a breeze. I batch made some chicken tikka masala yesterday and today I got it all divided into portions and stashed in the freezer. That will help me when I cannot think what I want to eat - as longer as I remember to defrost it. How did your lunch go @Busy-Lizzie? I hope that @Ante1 enjoyed his pub lunch too.

 

Afternoon folks, had a busy day out in the garden again, really enjoying it but my back aches a bit now I must admit. Looking forward to a glass of wine at 6pm. Fortunately we had another lovely day of sunshine although a tad on the chilly side. I was well wrapped up in four layers with my thermal gloves on!
OH tried out his new manual aerator thingy on the front lawn, hard work so is going to do a couple of strips per day. We've got some sharp sand to trickle down into the holes hopefully.
I found to my great joy, three clumps of last year's tulips coming up in our 'orchard' area. I'd forgotten about planting those and the squirrels don't seem to have found the bulbs. Really hope they will flower. I've got snowdrops, daffodils, fritillaries, Irises Ret. and crocuses in there as well and am going to try sowing a wild flower seed mix later in March.

Have a good evening everybody, we're looking forward to a traditional roast lamb Sunday dinner. All this gardening and fresh air has given us an appetite.

The choir festival sounds fun @Liriodendron, glad you enjoyed it.

 

@Penny_Forthem, there is something very cheering watching dogs thoroughly enjoying themselves on a walk. I used to love the way our springer spaniel jumped up and down in the long grass and he would always check to see we were still with him by glancing back over his shoulder. I haven't heard anything from @Tui34 and I sincerely hope that all is fine where she is. It is almost a week now. Was she going away for a short break I wonder? We haven't heard from @PatE or @Badly_Maintained either.

 

Evening folks. As I’m off tomorrow, I have rebelled against my usual Sunday evening routine of roast dinner, uniform ironing and hair-washing. How liberating! However, now you’ve mentioned lamb dinner @lizzie27 - I have FOMO!

I hope everyone is doing ok - particularly those who haven’t posted for a while.

 

My lunch guests left about 35 mins ago. It went well, everything was eaten except one helping of apple and blackberry crumble. I did another pud too, blueberry compote topped with lemon cream - that was all eaten as well. The pheasants were tender and moist. I will make a pie or a casserole with the legs and carcass.

It's been a lovely sunny day. ☀️ I was indoors for most of it but I have enjoyed the day.

 

I love a rebel @AuntyRach. I have always considered myself one but maybe I'm just kidding myself. Nowhere in the book of life does it say that one should conform and act one's age. As every day passes I have not been that age before so I have no idea how to act!

 

Your meal sounds mouthwateringly marvellous @Busy-Lizzie and its lovely you have enough left over to create another meal. So pleased you had a super day. Have you heard how the poorly couple are? They don't know what they missed!

Our freezing fog became just fog this pm but the sun failed to break thru. Very dull and quiet. I have been busy transferring all my documents and selected photos to the new PC and doing some patchwork homework, including baking a sugar free carrot and ginger cake for tomorrow's workshop.

Dinner almost ready - lamb, roast sweet potato "chips", carrots and broccoli.

It is so mis that OH has lit a fire in the dining room which gives on to the kitchen so it's a bit hot in there, what with the oven and all. Cosmos doesn't know so is curled up in a tight ball on a sofa instead of sprawled on his chair in front of the fire.

Great that you and the dogs have had a workout @Penny_Forthem . Hope you feel better @Ergates.

I have been in touch with Tui, she is fine except she has no internet, a nice young man is coming tomorrow to fix it, she thanks you all for your concern.

Hello folks! A busy day here, squeezing in lunch between church this morning, and the gala concert of the Ennis choral festival this afternoon. Our daughter was singing in one of the invited choirs, which was lovely.

Bother. We have no lights in the kitchen or lounge, which are on the same circuit. Somewhere there must be a short circuit... I'll try to get hold of the electrician tomorrow.
