Good morning. Bright and sunny here but freezing with a heavy overnight frost. I'm on my second coffee (normally only one a day) as I woke up feeling not too bright and have patch group this pm. All I've done so far is whisk up the Philadelphia to ice my ginger carrot cake. Now to get used to my new keyboard which has its @ and other things in a different place.

I hope you get your leccy problem sorted @Liriodendron.

I hope @Tui34 gets her 'net back soon. We spent weeks tethered to OH's phone when an Orange engineer disconnected us while solving the neighbour's problem. They did give us free data to do it tho. Same performance when they took us off the ADSL circuit before connecting the new fibre optic system. Very frustrating.

Enjoy your day everyone, especially those like @AuntyRach and @Ante1 who are off work. best wsihes to all needing hugs and comforting.

Hello everyone, What a treat to see the sun! it is very cold though! We had to do a lot of tethering also @Obelix-Vendée when we were with Orange because people were stealing the copper wires!
We are now fibre optic and with a different company.
I have a dr's appointment this afternoon as I can't resolve this dizziness problem without some added imput!
      Catch up later.

I am waiting for my Tesco delivery, the washing machine is on, dog has been taken to his day care date, kids are coming for supper - it must be Monday!
I am going to watch a programme on BBC 2 tonight, about the Balkans, including @Ante1's home, Croatia. Not into Silent Witness.
Glad @Tui34 is OK, and @PatE

Been to the dentist. Basically, emergency treatment, but long term, nothing they can do.
Told it would "help if I had all my teeth removed, and had dentures".

            Good afternoon.

It’s bright, sunny and chilly here today. There was a slight mist when I opened the curtains.

That sounds a rather drastic solution @Fourmerkland.

Monday, some dusting of snow overnight. the ground hog saw its shadow.
Meeting up with someone on Tuesday to sell a book to them. Still the continued goal to get rid of stuff I don't need anymore. More therapy for my wrist on Tuesday. Burns dinner nice, a good break for winter.
Love seeing the sliver of the moon and Jupiter and Saturn. take care all.

Ouch @Fourmerkland that doesn’t sound good. Thing much (of interest) happening here today as I’m working.

Just taking a quick lunch break to enjoy some homemade soup with an episode of Garden Rescue. Typically because I am working the sun is out and the sky is blue..sigh…..

Hope the caffeine does the trick @Obelix-Vendée. Carrot cake is one of my favourites.

                  Good morning all.

Sending sympathy to @Fourmerkland, that sounds rather drastic.

@Liriodendron and all who knew her on GW, I have had a response from Pat too. I sent her a message on 11th January on the Jigsaw site then a more recent one. She says she's OK, just getting older.

It's cold and cloudy. I'm going to make a pie for tonight and soup with the boiled up pheasant remains.

                    Good Day all.

I had a bit of cramp in my leg yesterday and then a very painful episode before bed and again this morning. The muscle is very sore now and feels like it could cramp any moment. Another ailment to add to the list - joy!

On a positive note, the weather isn’t too bad so I’ll try to do some pottering outside this afternoon.

I hope everyone is having a good day and weather, work, travel, jobs and bodies are being kind to all.

                      Afternoon everyone.

A bit dull today, but I have admin to do for the cottage, so an indoor day is fine. It's actually a bank holiday here in Ireland (St Bridget's day, apparently - I'm not Catholic so not well up on these saints. There's a lough Bridget close to here, though, which is very pretty. I'll see if I can find a photo...)

                      20210604_125606.jpg

Of course, it being a bank holiday I can't get hold of the electrician. Never mind. We have plenty of lamps to provide alternative sources of light.

I have one calf which cramps easily, @AuntyRach . I suspect mine is related to the sciatica I had a year ago; hope yours resolves itself quickly. And hopefully @Obelix-Vendée will be feeling bright and breezy by now.

Re Pat E: I think she's well into her eighties, so perhaps it's not surprising she's feeling her age. Her posts and pictures have been very interesting, especially for those of us who will never experience her lifestyle, or her part of the world. She'll be missed if she doesn't feel up to posting here any more.

That doesn't sound good @AuntyRach, I'm presuming you've obviously discounted a possible blood clot? I'm just a bit cautious after having been diagnosed with a DVT of unknown cause back in 2023, wouldn't like another one.

Thanks to all who've messaged re Pat E, it's nice to know she's ok, also ditto @Tui34.

I've not done much today except for our usual walk to fetch the paper. My back was twinging after yesterday's gardening efforts, I knew I shouldn't have tried to pull the garden cart full of clay lumps uphill on the path but I'm so stubborn and convinced I can still do those kind of things. Just a slow meander around the back garden in the sunshine and finding more tulips/crocus popping through, hastily cloched against squirrel attacks.

Looking forward to seeing my daughter tomorrow - she wants me to show her how to prune roses.

There is no way I'm having all my teeth out, and replacing with dentures. At least, not yet.
I'll try to discuss it more with the London hospital. They tend to be more upbeat.
Local NHS dentist is friendly, but not keen to continue seeing me too often. He probably has private patients to see, and they pay more.

Good afternoon all. No quiz League match for me tonight so I'm looking forward to a TV quiz night and Silent Witness. I do hope that you managed to shake off the doldrums this morning and that your patch club went well @Obelix-Vendée. Did you manage to find out more about your dizzy spells @floralies? @Fourmerkland that certainly sounds a drastic plan. If you have some teeth still relatively healthy and attached having them all whipped out seems draconian! Only you will know the answer to that puzzle. Super picture @Liriodendron, thank you for sharing it. My brother lives in a St. Bride's Close - which is another version of Bridget. Enjoy your Sunday lunch Mark 2 @Busy-Lizzie. I managed to get some gardening done today, well to be correct I did a load of weeding but it was just nice to potter outside.
