I started the chicken casserole off in the slow cooker earlier and it's tasting very good. However, hub is not feeling very well, so we've cancelled the kids, just in case. Not like him.
l will have to freeze the casserole - not sure where, as the smallish freezer is pretty full!
He's said he'll have a scrambled egg for his supper (he must be feeling ill!)
Not sure what I fancy. Got fish in the freezer, but had a piece of fish for lunch!
@Fourmerkland hope you can get something sorted (intrigued by your 'name', too)
Hope your doc's visit was positive @floralies

@Liriodendron Brigid is the old Celtic goddess - queen of heaven - whose feast day was Imbolc which falls on the 1st of Feb and marks the half way point between the winter solstice and spring equinox. It's also marks the new lambs and new shoots so heralds the return of spring and the start of the growing year. The Catholics just adopted her and call it Candlemass but the Irish kept her as their patroness saint.

The coffee worked and the cake (Nigella) was delicious but otherwise a frustrating afternoon. We had a Boutis workshop organised and our dear secretary who organises photocopies arrived 27 minutes late - she's habitually late but it's not acceptable when 12 people are waiting for her. 1 person called to say she was ill and couldn't do today's all day workshop - it was last Monday. Another wanted to confirm when it was - and she was looking at our calendar of events!!

Last week I received an invitation for our members to learn life-saving in the case of a cardiac arrest and how to drive a defibrillator and passed it on to all our 44 members. 2 replied to say they had already done it last year. 4 said that, like me, they have knees and can't get down. 2 said yes please. That leaves 35, so I had to go round the 30 odd present and ask each in turn. Doh! And Nelly has leant me a "helpful" book to explain all about Granny squares for a workshop in March and it looks like Chinese to me, or maybe Sanskrit. Youtube then.

Pie sounds lovely @Busy-Lizzie. I'm doing a hake, salmon and scallops pie tonight, never having seen pheasant on sale here.

Enjoy your evening off @Ladybird4 . Magnesium @AuntyRach ?? Hang on to yoour teeth @Fourmerkland .

Nooo, @Fourmerkland! That sounds like a terrible idea, ( and I do know what I’m talking about!) Full dentures are not necessarily easy to adapt to, expensive, and there are fewer and fewer dentists around that have the experience to get them made properly. Is that The (Royal) London hospital that you are treated at? They have an excellent Dental hospital and school, could you get a referral to have your dental treatment there?
Despite my cold, I was able to get out this afternoon and shred the pile of cuttings I produced yesterday. One green bin is completely full, very happy about that.
Good to hear that @PatE is doing ok. It was always fascinating to see the photos of her local area, complete with kangaroos!
        A beautiful peaceful scene, @Liriodendron!
Hope the doctor’s appointment was helpful, @floralies. Would be good if you can get some rapid relief from the dizziness.

Good evening all from London. I arrived yesterday, and already done a lot of things. Now I'm in the hotel because my feet said enough. I walked thru west London 9 whole hours. Tomorrow will be the most challenging day. Didn't read back, so hope you are all well.

@Fourmerkland , my aunt, who trained at the Royal London and went on to be a Matron, had all her teeth removed and replaced with dentures, at a dentist's suggestion in the 30's (she was in her 20s), regretted it always.
When I broke my jaw after a fall in 2021, the nurses said I had 'nice teeth'. Somehow, they stayed put and I still have 'nice teeth'!!
            Keep them if you can

@Penny_Forthem, I met quite a few ‘older’ ladies who had all their teeth removed and full dentures as 21st birthday presents! It was also a popular wedding present. When I was a student, fewer than half of adults over 50 had any of their own teeth.
Sounds like you are having a great time, @Ante1! Don’t overdo it though! Make sure your feet get a rest so you can enjoy the whole visit!

I try not to overdo, but it will be relax schedule. Today I needed to be at two places at certain time. One of those was Victoria & Albert museum. Beautiful place, and I choosed 2pm, because I wanted to have afternoon tea in garden cafe around 4. Unfortunately I found out that they not serve it at the moment, but lot of delicious cakes were available.

I've been going to the Dental Institute at King's College Hospital in London. They've been extremely good to me.

Kings is pretty good, @Fourmerkland, but I am of course biased towards the London ( my Alma mater!)
What a shame there was no afternoon tea in the V and A garden, but the indoor restaurant is quite beautiful. I would very much enjoy a trip to London, eating in all the wonderful cafes in the museums and art galleries! Have fun!

Hello there everyone. Another breezy morning here - I only know that from bringing in my milk bottle off the front step. Even for me it is a bit early to be wandering around in the garden!
How is your OH this morning @Penny_Forthem? Oh my goodness @Obelix-Vendée, another frustrating evening for you. Despite the irritating members, keep going because I feel certain the reliable members are grateful for all your efforts. We had a course at the Food Bank on how to use a defibrillator. I found it very informative and useful though with my dodgy knees I think I might have difficulties with some of the manoeuvres. @Ergates, I love the smug satisfaction when I have filled my big green bin up to bursting and I did manage to get it half filled yesterday. It was emptied last week so I still have some breathing space before the next collection.
@Ante1 It does sound as if you will be going home for a rest after all of the things you have on your itinerary! Have an enjoyable day today whatever the plans are. @Fourmerkland, it sounds as though you are ready to take further advice - as said yesterday, most wise.

                        Good morning all.

We'll go to our local town today. OH bought me a new watch, my old one was too gold looking so I couldn't read the face anymore without glasses. The strap is a bit too loose. I don't like it tight, though. Also need a few bits, butter, paper towels etc. May pop into the GC for some violas.

We had pheasant pie last night, enough left for another meal. I put some carrots and leeks in it and it turned out rather well.

Good morning to you all and thank you for your kind concern due to my conspicuous absence!!

I have moved into a smaller place and although I rang Orange to inform them, they told me I should have arranged it a fortnight prior to moving. Water and electricity were within 24 hours. Anyway, I had to wait a week and yes @Obelix-Vendée I was told that I could have internet on my tablet and phone - no go. My phone is only functional and I couldn't get a signal on my tablet.

I am surrounded by chaos and will get things straight gradually. I am squeezed in so it is "cosy"!!
A little "all at sea" for the moment but I hope with these lovely sunny days I will get the very bare garden under way. Today is cold with 2°C and sunny and hopefully a high of 17°C this afternoon.

Again, so lovely to have had your concern, I bid you all a pleasant day.

So lovely to see you back again @Tui34 and to discover it wasn't anything healthwise that was the reason for your absence. Eventually you will get all of the chaos 'tamed' and under control. What does Fizz make of all of this?

Good morning everyone, another dull day weather-wise. The sun came on Friday and Sunday teasing us with what's to come.
I have dentist today, a new (for me ) practice. My old dentist retired, the new people that took over are very good but fully private and expensive. They expect you to see the hygienist twice a year at an additional £85 a time. So I'm going to the one my wife uses and they have a new lady who is taking NHS patients, so I will give her a go.
Glad to hear from Tui and PatE, especially from PatE as apparently they have severe flooding in Queensland.

Enjoy London @Ante1, sun is forecast for Tomorrow and Thursday.
