Glad that you are back home safe and sound @Ante1 and you deserve to have a rest now after all your touring. I wish my hair was as well behaved as yours sounds @Obelix-Vendée. I cannot be bothered faffing with mine. as long as its clean it can just air dry and I don't really mind if it looks like a haystack in the morning. My hairdresser has given up trying!
I used to do loads of sewing years ago - making all my own clothes and when the older of my two sisters got married 50 years ago I made her wedding dress, the three bridesmaids dresses and her going away outfit. Arthritis has put paid to a lot of my sewing now and I've invested in those handy little needle threader gadgets - but you still have to get the thin metal loop through the tiny eye of the needle! Results in 7-10 days @Busy-Lizzie you must have missed that in my original post. How lovely to be booked for the ballet too. Wow @Blue arbour you don't hang about do you? Well done on getting your new car but you never gave us that all important info - what colour is it? Have a super catch up tomorrow @Penny_Forthem. It will be lovely reminiscing.

It is beginning to get really cold here again. It is 3°C at the moment and said to drop to 0°C later. I am signing out for this evening and I wish you all a peaceful night. Stay warm everyone. See you in the morning.

Glad you are home safe, @Ante1. Sounds like you had a good time.
Trip to the ballet sounds wonderful, @Busy-Lizzie. Our nearest theatre is in Plymouth, the last ballet I saw there was Matthew Bourne’s production of Romeo and Juliet, very powerful stuff.

Very cold here to start, but glorious sunshine. Out for breakfast, and then 10,000 steps round the fields. I’m still snuffling a bit, but feeling better during the day.
Hate car shopping! We always over research everything until it’s doing our heads in, and then give up for a while! We do love our Audi, but it’s getting long in the tooth now. We would be happy with the same again, but automatic this time. Would also hate to do without a sun roof, but since we bought the current one, they seem to be only available on the higher spec models, which we don’t want or need. Doesn’t help that our local main dealer was a complete disaster for the first service. Thankfully we found a really good independent garage who have been doing our servicing for the last few years.
We will have to brave the trading estate soon and do the rounds of the dealerships, but not looking forward to that at all.

After someone reversed into our parked Freelander in 2018. we started looking for a new car. We had sited the van, so didn't need it to tow. OH doesn't drive, so the priorities ran thus:
            1. Room for our 4 dogs in the 'boot'
We bought a car which boasted heated seats, good sat nav., but is actually totally underpowered. There are no hills in Chester, where we bought it. It really doesn't like our Welsh hills.
It's a gutless wonder. Comfy, but I hate it.
We call it the Wutless gunder
It was the Varna Nutcracker we were due to see @Busy-Lizzie

Well, @Ladybird4 , just for you, the colour is black . There was a blue one we liked, but it had more mileage, even though a slightly later reg, plus a reserve on it, so we went for another black one. It is slightly different actually as the one we have now is two tone: black and very dark grey.

A very good morning one and all. Another frosty morning but no fog thank goodness. Being first Friday it is our original quizzers lunch today so I'm looking forward to that. Unfortunately Bestie is not well enough to join us. I'm picking up two friends at about 12:15. @Blue arbour, my car is black but, of course, it has a showroom fancy name which I cannot remember. I do love it as it does everything but the ironing!

p.s. following on from @Penny_Forthem's car priority, mine was similar in that I look at the boot size first - thinking bags of compost and other garden accoutrements!

Good morning Liz and all to follow. Sunny and very cold morning. Later should be much warmer. @Songbird, I told to myself that must buy exact one more pair of shoes I have now. If they survived last four days, they can survive anything.
I'll have an easy day, it's too cold to be in the garden, and might sow few things. Pet food will be delivered today. Just right now I have cup of the Yorkshire tea. I'll wright it down because it might be first one ever made in Croatia. It should be interesting for future historians.
Have a nice day you all.

Morning @Ante1, yes those shoes sound like a good investment. I love the idea that an archaeologist in 1000 years time could find your note and a fossilised Yorkshire Tea bag! That made me smile.

                      Good morning,
No frost, but still cold and quite grey. We were forecast sleety showers for this evening but looking at the sky they might arrive sooner, though I hope not as I’m meeting friends for lunch today.
Enjoy your Yorkshire tea @Ante, “let’s gave a proper brew” is their slogan on the tv adverts. It certainly does make a tasty cuppa.

Morning everyone, back to grey and cloud. I have been using the dry days to do some wood treatment on the fence. There was a lot of green algae on it and had to use a stiff brush to remove it first. Trying to get it done before the plants really get going, but needing two or three dry days in a row isn't always easy.
Glad you enjoyed London @Ante1 , sounds as though you made the most of your trip.
Interesting comments about cars, ours are both quite old but it's very hard to know what to replace them with. In many ways we should cut down to one but we still do different things quite regularly. At least one should be an EV but they are just so outrageously expensive to buy, and the technology is moving so fast, it's making them obsolete too soon for my liking.

Morning all. @Ante1 I am another Yorkshire tea lover here, in fact, as I write I am have my cuppa next to me. Lovely. Good to hear your shoes stood up to the rigorous testing.
We were supposed to have another cold frosty night / morning but have woken to no frost at all. Cold and windy and we have to venture into town later. I have even dug out my scarf these last few days to wear as the temperatures have plummeted here.

Good morning all, from sunny frosty East Clare!

It sounds as if you had a great time in London, @Ante1 . Yes, Yorkshire tea is my favourite when we're in Britain - here in Ireland, Barry's Tea is considered the best. It makes a very strong brew - commonly known as "builder's tea" - with a good flavour.

I've been "babysitting" our granddaughters while their dad is at a conference, and their mother running classes in sewing machine use. The classes are for complete beginners, which our daughter was herself, five years ago. She advertised the class on Facebook by asking "Do you have a sewing machine? Are you scared to use it? That was me, five years ago...". She had more people wanting to sign up than she had space for, including one woman whose husband had threatened to give her machine to a charity shop unless she learnt to use it.
