Hello everyone. Grey and cold this side of the Irish sea as well...

The rules about livestock in Ireland seem very odd to us. It's our legal responsibility to keep the farmer's cattle out of our property, not the other way round, so we've paid to have the wall repaired and an electric fence put up. Hope those cattle didn't make too much of a mess, @Obelix-Vendée . Sensible to stay in the warm at the moment, though...

I've made use of my "static time" with an unpredictable stomach to book places to stay in Finland. We have a cheap hotel near the venue for the choral festival, then a few days in the countryside in the cottage on a farm which I mentioned a while ago. Reviews mention the quiet, the lovely breakfast and the wild flowers... then we have a week in a little wooden cottage next to a small lake. Not a lot of mod cons, but the views are stunning, and peace is assured. I'll leave booking the car to OH, and hopefully his computer might behave well enough to book the flights as well. Mine keeps telling me I'm using an unsupported browser, and suggesting I install Chrome, which is a bit stupid since I'm using a Chromebook - albeit an old one, which may be the problem, I suppose.

Lovely to chat with someone who knows "your" area, @Ladybird4 . We quickly discovered that the lady who works in the greengrocer's shop here, is from the town 4 miles down the valley in Calderdale, from where we lived before we moved to Ireland. :)

My fingers are crossed too that the steers didn’t do too much damage @Obelix-Vendée

Hope you warm up soon @AuntyRach . If you’re chilly all day it seems to get right inside you I always used to need a long soak in a warm bath to get me back to normal operating temperature.

We recently rewatched As Times Goes By. A very enjoyable and gentle comedy

I've just had a very enjoyable time in the garden, digging up clumps of flowering snowdrops and redistributing them to places I can see from the house. It wasn't so cold as I had feared although the forecaster still showed only 5c.
I've got a blood test booked for tomorrow (not nice) but happily followed by meeting a close friend for lunch, well kind of, Hilliers are offering half price on a jam and cream scone with coffee/or tea, That'll do us! Looking forward to a nice long chat.

That sounds lovely, @lizzie27! Just been to a local group meeting, talk and afternoon tea, which included fingers sandwiches, jam and cream scones, and four sorts of home made cake! No lunch in anticipation, and no dinner needed tonight. Still full up.
I must divide some of our snowdrop clumps. I moved some a few years ago to nearer the house, and it would be good to cultivate a couple more patches nearer the windows.
