My SIL has the same attitude to mushrooms as Possum @Obelix-Vendée I also have several recipes where I am vague on the ingredients if asked

I used to find night driving difficult, still do but only a passenger now due to some eye issues

Good afternoon everyone. Once the grey skies disappeared this morning we had a bit of sunshine - no warmth though and it was breezy - so like you @lizzie27 I grabbed the opportunity to change my bedding. Got it all washed and it is now all dry and stashed away. Bird food arrived safely and that is all unpacked and decanted into the black dustbin I keep it in. I didn't get any gardening done but having cracked the domestic stuff for this week and a forecasted nicer day tomorrow I am garden ready!
The ballet sounds interesting @Busy-Lizzie. I admit to preferring the traditional as opposed to modern interpretations.
I have a nephew who shares the same dislike of mushrooms as @Obelix-Vendée's daughter and @Butterfly6's SIL.

Popped in to the supermarket this morning and somehow three pots of fritillaries ended up in my trolley! I must plant them tomorrow. Have done nothing constructive since we got home, apart from cooking and eating. Getting behind with the laundry again, but not feeling very motivated.must stop glancing at the news headlines, it’s not doing me any good at all.

          I am excited! Thanks @Busy-Lizzie
I checked the local theatres for the ballet (we had to cancel The Nutcracker in Liverpool last month due to snow).
I have now booked The Nutcracker in Llandudno in November. And a hotel room with a sea view. Where can I find a second mortgage, anyone? :rolleyespink:
I'd love a fritillary or several.
Our mattress is arriving at a decent slot of 3 - 5 tomorrow. We both picked the same curtain swatch, the new bedding (coffee colour) arrived today, I'm on fire... well, perhaps a slow burn.
We are growing mushrooms (a Christmas present). They are remarkably prolific.

Ooh that is something nice to look forward to @Penny_Forthem. I am just looking forward to my fritillaries appearing. A high number of all those hundreds of bulbs I planted last Autumn seem to be coming up blind - a bit like my Amaryllis which is still all just leaf. I will feed it up and maybe next C*******s - if I don't forget about it - it may reward me with a flower.

Hello there everyone. Its wild and windy outside at the moment but ever the optimist I live in hope. Does anyone like me remember when news bulletins always ended with a cheery little note? I wonder why that was abandoned.

I remember those news bulletins. Something to make you smile at the end of thirty minutes of bad news

                    Good morning all.

It should be sunny today, 6C by lunchtime. I may do some gardening. Tomorrow they say rain in the morning so that should be weekly shop day. Friday should be sunny and much warmer so that may be the day we go to Walsingham to see the snowdrops.

Good morning all! It's sunny here at the moment, and the little daffodils are looking very perky.

I'm off to "Knit & Natter" in a bit, then I'll be packing for 10 days in Britain. Going first to our cottage in Scotland (officially to see a plumber, but I don't think he's going to turn up), then to see my sister in Newcastle, and finally to York to stay a few days with our son, DIL and little grandsons.

Hope you all have a good day.

Its grey and cool here so I'm not venturing into the garden just yet. I brought my seed compost from the garage into the kitchen yesterday so I will get my tomatoes and cat grass sown.

@Liriodendron, you have got an interesting trip coming up. It must be a little like home from home when you go to visit your cottage. I still have relatives who live in the North East. A cousin and his family who live in Swalwell.

It is grey here but 10C now and there were some very big, fat, lazy raindrops as I drove away from physio to raid the Vietnamese SM. I'm now stocked up with fresh ginger, ginger beer, powdered ginger and a few other essentials. Thence to Carrefour to buy cottage cheese cos my SM doesn't stock it.

OH is ironing while watching cricket but, once we've had lunch, we'll go out and mark out my plan behind the terrace. Then he can start building the bottle walls. I might even manage to get the Michaelmas daisy triffids cut down in the rose garden. Supposed to be purple and 45cm high but are actually white and 100 when they get going so they mask the roses instead of showing them off so they need a new home.

Sounds to me like a long involved trip @Liriodendron, especially if the plumber doesn't turn up. Enjoyable tho.

Possum asked to go to the ballet for her 18th birthday @Penny_Forthem and I looked into going to London to see the Royal Ballet but it would have been over £300 each plus travel, hotel, restaurants so out of the question. I eventuallly found a classical Russian company doing the Nutcracker in Brussels. We concluded that it's not for us - too many repetitive moves and no innovation. I did enjoy the modern ballet with the steam trains on the NY concert from Vienna tho. Much more lyrical and entertaining with some clever choreography.

Have a peaceful and/or productive day everyone.

Afternoon folks. Had a busy couple of days with work and helping Dad with stuff. Realising that the modern world isn’t very frailty-friendly Just open this packaging, just scan this code, etc is all challenging when you struggle with fiddly things and tech.

Nipped to Diddly-Dee so I have some easy food for the next few days and, importantly, more butter! Had to use a ‘spread’ yesterday - does not compare, even ‘buttery’!

Hope I haven’t missed anything important from you all. Have a good midweek day.
