Morning all. still here. typing better. hand/wrist still little swollen but getting better.
I go to PT 3X wk.
Anyway, watching fluffy stuff drop today. all is good.
    started the gathering for taxes.
We nailed down our next trip, Jan. 21 leaving for Key West, Fl for a week.
Husband organizing the different car shows this year.

Sorry for not keeping up with all your lives. Just not mentally with it some days due to this fracture.

By the way. I did experience a Baker's Cyst last month, SMH as if I needed something else. Seems its common, anyone else ever have it. my left cafe swelled up. better now. got me some compression stockings, so for any long trips, car or plane will wear them. Ageing is awesome.

    Later.

      Hello all.

@Obelix-Vendée and @lizzie27 I'm also feeling a bit fat after all the feasting but I'm not looking forward to dieting! I will have to do it but will power is lacking.

No snow here, wet and windy. Has got much colder than yesterday.

I had a pack of 4 chicken breasts last night. Made Italian chicken baked with mozzarella, red peppers, tomatoes and oregano. Also cooked pasta and stir fried courgettes, red peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and onions. Grandson Liam had twice as much pasta as us, ate it twice as fast, then asked if he could have the 4th piece of chicken and the rest of the pasta and veg! He's very slender.

We've been having another quiet day today then maybe we'll take Liam to see Cambridge tomorrow, unless the weather is too awful. I've watched an episode of The Split and an episode of Escape to the Country.

That's a very pretty snow photo @redstar. Sorry your wrist is still being a problem.

Your grandson will be eating you out of house and home @Busy-Lizzie! I am signing out early today as tonight is the first quiz of the New Year. One of my team mates is picking me up at 19:45 which I am glad about - didn't fancy walking to his house in this weather. It did turn out to be a lovely, sunny day and the snow has melted apace but I suspect when the temperature drops the melted snow will freeze and make pavements very slippery. See all you lovely folk tomorrow.

That's a great view you have there @redstar
Did anyone watch Playing Nice last night? Going to watch on catchup tonight.
Is Liam going into halls, or self catering at uni @Busy-Lizzie? I hope he's prepared for British food
I've buttered the panettone and resisted the impulse to try a bit. Just got the 'custard' to make now.

@Penny_Forthem, Liam is going into a house share, bedroom each, shared kitchen and bathroom for 4 students. He can cook. There is a canteen too.

                Afternoon everybody,
so sorry to hear you've got a bad back @AuntyRach, do hope it eases soon. Nothing worse I think.
I'm glad though that your wrist is getting better @redstar, that's taken a long time to heal. I've not heard of a Bakers Cyst though, did you mean a blood clot in your calf? A holiday is something to look forward to.

Not done a lot today - again. I usually lose motivation to get up and do things at this time of year and must try to snap out of it. Do not like January at all. Forced myself to walk down to the shops with OH and picked up meds from the pharmacy this morning but that's about it.

Our 5-2 diet means you only have to 'diet' two days a week @Busy-Lizzie so we have found it surprisingly doable. I know I've put some weight back on over Christmas but that's allowable and hope to lose that just as fast. Fingers crossed!

We must have had lots of rain overnight as the roads were very muddy. Fortunately we had sunshine most of the day which has been very welcome although temps are dropping now.

Nope not a blood clot. Had an ultrasound to rule out. Yes, its been over 90 days dealing with my wrist. my shoulder also paying the price. Anyway, plates were taken out on 12/20. still far to go. but I can type. and hold a potato to peel and bun up my hair, and put deodorant on opposite arm pit, and put a pillowcase on. its cheering the small stuff.

Good morning all. Rain and wind, but warm. Pets are fed, bird feeders refiled, must finish my tea and go to school. It's ridiculous that grown man must go to school. Hope the snow stopped up there. Have a nice day and see you all later.

Good morning @Ante1 and all dropping in later. We had a great night last night - beating our club's first team in the Quiz League. We have a bye next week so hoping we don't lose our momentum. I have a dental appointment this morning so am hoping the roads aren't too dodgy - a gritter has just gone up the lane.

Great quiz result @Ladybird4. What’s your specialist subject - or are you an all-rounder?
Bet you have the ‘back-to-school’ blues @Ante1? At least it’s a shorter week.

We’ve had a dusting of snow overnight! Not forecast.

My back is still bad so no ‘school’ for me today.

Take care all - catch you later.

Morning @AuntyRach. I am pretty much happy with anything relating to human biology/plants/animals/food so I guess I would have to say in those aspects I am an all rounder. Politics is a definite 'no no' because I am simply not interested and similar with anything related to football.
It was sleeting when we drove home last night. Sorry that you are still having problems with your back. This must be so debilitating for you as it basically has a knock on effect with everything that you do. Look after yourself today.

                                Good morning everyone!

What an icy blast you are having! It isn't cold here - 7°C a little wind and a sleepy sun.

My back is sore too @AuntyRach but that serves me right for doing too much yesterday. Housework in the morning, then I couldn't stop myself but did 2 hours in the garden. Digging and weeding - but I had a gay old time and I think I will sow some broad beans. Not exactly the right time but it is warmer down here. Maybe even a few lettuces under plastic. Bit of a risk, but I get excited seeing tilled soil!!

Your dinner yesterday sounded scrumptious @Busy-Lizzie and as I had some peppers in the fridge to use up, made myself a piperade for supper last night. Just the thing - sweet and savoury at the same time!!

Are you at a primary school @Ante1 ? I enjoyed my time at primary school as children like to please the teacher. Different at secondary school although these days it seems puberty is coming earlier and earlier and 9 year olds can be quite "grumpy" !!

A day off for me perhaps would be wise. I need to recheck the freezer contents so that's a job to do.

Stay safe and stay warm for those in the "white" areas. Have a pleasant day to all.
