Good morning all. Sunny and warm morning, with a bird quarrel on the feeder. My pets are fed and sleeping again, and I have my tea and. Today will be an easy day. My sister has birthday next week, and tomorrow I'll send her a parcel with lots of goodies, biscuits and present. Hope it will arrive at time, but every time it did. Only two or three days from here to Germany.
    @Liriodendron, what a beautiful Hellebore.

First apricot flowers. Should be many more.

Good morning @Ante1. Those flowers are so beautiful. A special day today for @Ergates:

I hope that you have a wonderful time - I know you said you weren't doing anything today so I do hope you get spoilt and can enjoy anything you decide to set your hands to.

          Good morning,

Happy birthday @Ergates :birthday:. Enjoy your day whatever you decide to do.

Pretty blossom on your tree @Ante1.

It’s looking like we’re going to have another beautiful day. I did a bit more tidying in the garden yesterday but my back reminded me again to ease up, so although I’m itching to do more I think today I’d better not. It’s so frustrating.

I hope you all have a good day whatever your plans.

            Good morning all.

It's raining. Never mind, the garden was a bit dry for this time of year.

Maybe I'll start painting the kitchen cupboards. They are dark grey which I find gloomy. I bought some pale sage paint for kitchen cupboards when we were in England.

Happy birthday @Ergates. Hope you have a wonderful day.
It's certainly a glorious day here and it seems the world and his wife are heading to the coast.
Himself is off to his bushcraft, so I can spend a couple of hours outside.
The sun is just about to hit the greenhouse, so better open a door. At last, I have tomato seedlings!
              Happy gardening!

Damp here with wetter bits and drier bits. Not sure it's enough to excite the shallots and garlic planted so I may have to water them as next week is to be dry. Mad given all the rain we've had lately.

                  Happy birthday @Ergates. Enjoy yourself.

I love your hellebore @Liriodendron. They only seem to sell the white form here and want 20€ a pot so I haven't bothered as I was given some of those in a plant swap.

I agree about dark grey @Busy-Lizzie. We still have some here on the half landing which I'm not planning to tackle myself. I wanted to paint our kitchen walls sage but the smaple pots didn't look good as it's north facing so I ended up with a soft yellow to make it sunny. I also buy paint in England when I can as it's half the price for the same stuff.

Have a good day everyone, whether resting from yesterday's labours or pottering in the garden today. I'm sewing this am but may sow some PSB this pm as it's set to be warmer and the seed trays can go in the polytunnel.

I painted the dining room and breakfast room in Norfolk soft yellow @Obelix-Vendée as they are north and east facing. The breakfast room was dark grey and needed a window so we had one put in. I had a new kitchen installed there too with cream units. Then OH and I tiled it with pale blue tiles and I painted the rest pale blue. So much lighter.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! Made me feel very happy! We are out for breakfast at the Donkeys, lovely and sunny apart from the occasional light cloud. I wanted OH to take a photo of me here to mark the day. He has taken about 40, and I’ve rejected all but 2! Still not pleased with them, not sure which will work, either strong filters or plastic surgery needed!
We will pick up a decadent meal in Waitrose on the way home, I’ll choose a small bottle of fizz to go with it. Then off to the garden centre to spend my voucher.
Hope everyone has a good day. A lovely hellebore, @Liriodendron, and the apricot flowers are so pretty, @Ante1. I saw a mini tree in the garden centre this week, that had both peach and nectarines grafted onto it. I wonder how they would do in our garden?

                        View from our breakfast table.

                            Good morning everyone.

Re my post concerning Paddy McGinty's blessed goat, I woke up around 1am with the following verse repeating in my head -

"Mickey Riley, he went to the races t'other day
He won 20 dollars and he shouted, "Hip Hooray!"
He held up the note, shouting "Look what I've got!"
The goat came up and grabbed it and he swallowed up the lot
"He's eaten me banknote, " said Mickey with the hump
They ran for the doctor, and they got a stomach pump
They pumped and they pumped for that 20 dollar note
But all they got was ninepence out of Paddy McGinty's goat"

Later the ladies from Killaloe and their bustles took a turn. :help:

Hope you Yawners all have a good Sunday , I'm off to play some Quo to shift the Goat .

PS Happy birthday @Ergates. I forgive you.

Good morning all, from the garden! The sun is shining at last. :spinning:

Wishing you a very happy birthday, Ergates. I don't like photos of myself, either - I think it results from being so much younger on the inside than appears from the outside... :noidea:

I'm planning to impersonate a bee, and cross-pollinate my hellebores to see what might arise from the offspring.

Me too @Ergates and @Liriodendron tho it's more a case of never having been photogenic. Bad enough in a mirror but worse on camera.

I got very excited earlier - Farmer Gracy special offer on a beautiful purple phlomis which lead to other treasures. Got to almost £100 and then the basket lost it all. Maybe try again later. Early Mothers' Day prezzie.

It's grey now but dry. I shall have to and check my apricot blossoms @Ante1. next week is looking to be cold so I hope the warm afternoons we're having are enticing the pollinators out to play.
