The veg is soo tasty. The carrots are so sweet. Don't know whether I'm imagining that it tastes better or it actually does because theyre home grown-either way-yum!

Somewhere I've got some seeds for a variety of red carrot. I bought them a few years back to serve up at a Haloween dinner. Sadly I didn't get any to grow.

Busy day today. Borrowed the pick-up from work and moved all my pots and containers round to their temporary lodgings in sister-in-law's garden. I have around 25 of them in all including some quite large pots, so there was a fair bit of humping involved.

Once that was done, I loaded up the eight large trays of plants which I've propagated from various favourites around the garden over the past few months, along with a few small trays of cuttings which I've managed to get going. These are all now safely stashed away in the greenhouse and cold frame at work until we're settled in to the new house.

It all went pretty much according to plan too - no dropped pots, squashed fingers, broken plants or anything like that, which was quite satisfying after the week we've just had. :)

              Aloha everyone,

We arrived back home yesterday after a very good week in the Lake District. :blue thumb: Before we went the forecast for the whole week was rain. As usual, things turned out differently once we got there. During the daytime we had sun and cloud and it only rained in the evening and at night. We could see rain in the distance but it stayed at a distance. The nearest it got to us was one day when a light drizzle drifted across the next hillside to produce this :dbgrtmb:
              P1350582.JPG

Lovely days (needed to wrap up well for some of them), good food, good company and interesting shows (went to theatre twice and cinema once with the cinema being a film of excellent opera singer Jonas Kaufmann).

The journey both ways was good (287 miles in 4hrs 15 mins). No loo stops required :old: :heehee:

I picked the last of the runners when I got home so shall be lifting the plants sometime this week (have to remove the rabbit defences and the ShineyFrame first so may take a while).

We picked up a few good cuttings of plants and we have promised to bring Shineyland plants etc. to head gardeners. @Zigs we shall also be taking some Bridgwater beans to be grown in a walled garden at Lingholm Gardens. Ken, the head gardener, was very interested.

I'm teaching a seminar this morning so shall have to catch up on things this afternoon :phew:

Keep well and have a great day

              Aloha!

                          Good day everyone
I'm late here too. I have been quite busy. Saturday I had brought home one of my granddaughters for a sleepover. She's a very nice little girl and really fun to have here but as you know, you end up doing a lot more baking and playing when young ones are about :)

I shall be attempting to work efficiently today to get my current job near completion and hope to have a few hours of afternoon left to play as well.

I hope everyone has a super day and plays safe :)
