Yawn yawn, wakey wakey autumn 2017

@moyra we wish you lots better.

I'm intending working on putting up a traffic mirror on the telephone pole opposite us (would be a bit stupid to put it opposite our neighbour ) and have a friend coming round to give us a hand. Once we have it fixed to the pole I shall need to sit in my car at the top of the driveway whilst he moves it to the right position.

Morning all.would you believe it my backs gone crook on me,so much to do,took me 10 minutes to do a 2 minute walk to the post box,why is it when you get a bad back everything you get hold of ends up on the floor,so you have to pick them up,anyway that's enough of my ailments,have a great Tuesday and take care my friends

Traffic mirror fixed. Now I have to get used to the distorted view it gives. My friend, who did most of the work, said that should be easy for me as I have a twisted view on things anyway! It certainly shows the view of the blind bend and further along the road but I realised that on a dull day a dark car, without lights, doesn't show up very easily. So I shall have to wait some seconds to spot whether there's movement along the road. The mirror is very good but is showing half a mile of road that is totally out of view from the driveway.

This week is very busy from the bridge point of view. I'm playing six sessions/matches in four days (Tuesday to Friday) with about four hours, or more, taken up with each session playing and travelling. Yesterday I opened the club at 1.15 p.m. then had 75 minutes break for a quick supper before picking up my team, driving to London for a match and arriving home close to 11.30 p.m.

At least I'll have a break on Saturday with helping sorting out the 80th birthday party of a friend. We have to set up the hall and I volunteered to do some of the cooking. So I'm cooking for thirty people.

Then on Sunday I'm playing all day in a match for the county.

No gardening for me this week.

I got back late last night from a bridge match as they decided to close the slip road off the motorway.

This afternoon I'm going to a charity bridge drive (for the local hospice) and am bound to be dragged into helping run it. Then bridge club tonight.

Yesterday I cooked the food for my friend's 80th birthday party tomorrow as I'm too busy today and tomorrow we'll be setting the hall up.

I don't know whether I'll bother to venture out in the garden this morning apart from filling the bird feeders.
