                Good day everyone
@"M" I am sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like you were a great comfort to her father. Good on you to think of the one left behind.

@wiseowl I'm sorry to hear your feathers are still droopy. What is the difference between man flu and woman flu and shouldn't you be having bird flu?:heehee:

The water meter switcher outer is due here this morning. As soon as the sprinkler has finished it's rounds I'll be getting my morning ablutions completed before the water gets turned off.

I shall be replacing some brackets for one of my solar panels. I don't look forward to this job because the panel is on a 4x4 horizontal rail which is 8' off the ground. I hate heights and crawling along that board and manoeuvering brackets, drill and brackets. Then re-hanging the panel is not going to be my idea of fun either. I have a much easier job to do as well- put up some shelves near my indoor growing area in the cellar. I need a place for my fertilizers etc.

My son came round for a visit after work last night. He usually gets a beer from the downstairs fridge and we then chat for awhile. He surprised and was very impressed with how I had rearranged the cellar. My sons can't figure out how I manage to do all of this stuff on my own but I don't think their concerns have anything to do with my skills, just my age :rolleyespink:

Well, the sprinkler just finished. Off I go.

Have a super day and play safe!

                  Good evening fellow WW'ers

Thank you, so very much, for those consoling words and kind thoughts. I still feel in a bit of fug over the news; it was such a shock, so unexpected; so ... sudden!
Of course, having pets does tend to bring us down to brass tacks and my fug had a bit of a reprieve when I realised this morning the time had come for Ozzy to have his anal glands expressed :eeew: Yet another trip to the vets! Now, *that* would have made my dear friend chuckle! I had to collect Echo's medication and prescription diet food anyway, so it made sense to combine the two.

                  :lunapic 130165696578242 5:
Hope you feel better very soon Woo! :grphg: I have been know to put a bottle of this into my menfolk's Christmas stocking (for good measure you see). Shall I send you some?

                        Aloha everyone,

@"M" Hearing of the sad demise of friends and acquaintances is always a shock (or sometimes a blessing ) and seems to be happening all too frequently nowadays. We're sorry to hear that it has happened to a young friend of yours and our thoughts are with you :grphg:

:yikes: Fortunately I don't seem to have a problem in that department :heehee:

                        @CanadianLori
Why is that happening? Have you been naughty again? :heehee:

                        Aren't they a permanent fixture? :hate-shocked:
Ours are on metal rails with permanent brackets. Tra la! :snorky:
                        P1220436.JPG

@wiseowl and @Zigs I hope you're both feeling better :grphg:

I've been having a bit of success with my letters (emails) of complaints/enquiries lately. :old:

Earlier in the year I sent in my report of the good and not so good points of one of our holidays. I always do this and it's a straight forward professional style report of plaudits and possible or needed improvements. Companies, and people, rarely get compliments for the good things so I always make sure that these are given. The suggested improvements resulted in a rather surprising and pleasant outcome. They thanked me for the report, said that they would be acting upon it and using it in their management discussions. They went on to say that they don't give refunds for on the cost of the holiday but would I accept a voucher for £500 as a discount on the next holiday that I book with them as long as I take it within the next two years. We do use this company (three times in the last three years) so it's not a tough decision to make. :snorky:

On a minor complaint I wrote to a theatre we went to the other week and complained about the sound. The result is free drinks all round on our next visit (we go at least three times a year).

Just this morning I got a reply for an insurance problem I was dealing with for my brother-in-law. He's flying over here from Brazil, where he lives, and asked me to check his travel insurance policy as he has noticed a possible problem. It states in the T's & C's that the policy ceases to cover him on his 70th birthday - which will be whilst he's over here. I spoke to their London office, who were very helpful and efficient, and pointed out that an annual policy can't legally cease in the middle of its term because of the age of the client. Otherwise it's not an annual policy and has been mis-sold. They contacted their Amsterdam office that had issued the policy (I haven't asked my brother-in-law why his insurance comes from Amsterdam when he never travels there!) and both offices have replied by email saying he will still be covered. They were very efficient and replied within eight hours, for which I thanked them :blue thumb:

I have a couple of problems to sort out this week for some other people :paladin:

Keep well and have a great day

                        Aloha!

                            Good day everyone
It is promised to be another hot day. But unfortunately the last for this year.

@shiney these are panels that I purchased to run the greenhouse fans and lights, not for selling power back to the grid or any of that good stuff. They can be "portable" because they have a stand attached. I hang the stands over a rail. I have 11 panels in various locations and they happily supply power to my batteries which in turn power the greenhouses day and night. Been well pleased with these and this winter I will be using the power to run fans and lights indoors. Just for area where I will be growing plants. :)

Our water meter switching out was postponed to today which is no big deal. Everything is ready for him to commence. I have the large watering cans all filled so that should the loo need replenishing... :)

Time to get myself tidied. Have a super day and please play safe :)
