      Good day everyone
It is just after 6 here and I've already got the first load of bed linens in the washer. We're promised another sunny day so I plan to use it to dry the laundry.

I've got a wage earning appointment later this morning and I plan to be potting up some seedlings this afternoon. At least that's the plan so far..

Have a good one and play safe :)

:hotsun:We have just had a moment of mist...........but hear it comes that gorgeous sunshine again promises of 30 degrees again.

We are though in a serious drought situation here ,we haven’t had any significant rain for over a month ,all lawns are brown and it’s a struggle to keep some plants alive.
Not a difficult problem as this doesn’t often happen so ,we do what we have to do.

It’s great for eating outside ,something I could never have envisaged in the cold damp months.:fan:
No jumpers or coats ,and you could fry an egg on the car bonnet .

So we must enjoy it while we can ,times like this don’t come round that often.
So plenty of fluids whatever you fancy.:BBQ:

            Good day everyone
We had a lovely rain during the night and the skies look like they're going to give us a little more throughout the day. My rain barrels are now collecting clean water. I had a problem with some sealant that I had tried on the gutters. It kept "bleeding" and the water looked milky so I drained the barrels into the area under the deck as there are obviously no plants to hurt there. I stripped off the sealant and replaced the little stops and dams with plumbers putty. Water is clear and all is happy now. :)

I've got wage earning to do today so I shall be getting compensated for staying in out of the rain. Doesn't get better than that :blue thumb:

Have a good day and play safe please!

                Aloha everyone,

From today I'm working on planning a cousins' meeting at Shineyland. In ten days time we have a 97 year old cousin visiting from America. He shall be in the UK for a couple of months and I'm sorting out a way for everyone to meet him. He did say that last year would be his last visit as the travel is getting too much for him but it will be good to see him again. He has been living there for 70, or so, years but hasn't even got a trace of an American accent!

So, we shall have 34 (at the last count) cousins and spouses here for dinner, tea and supper. Logistics will be a problem  and we shall need good weather for it to work :fingers crossed:. I've got some gazebos to put up in the garden (not enough room indoors), am organising tables to go under them and have enough chairs for everyone (it won't be the usual stand around chatting gathering as I'm one of the younger ones :old:).

I need to sort out enough crockery (got enough cutlery) and start planning things like big teapots, jugs (we have an urn :blue thumb:) etc. I'm now planning the food and shall work on quantities. Lunch shall be a range of curries (all cooked by me and working from scratch, no pre-made sauces, but I shall buy the popadoms :)). So I shall visit the Asian wholesalers today to make sure I have enough spices to make my curry powders.

We had already organised for two friends to come and help with being 'staff' but one of them has just been inconsiderate enough to break her leg!

Working out quantities of meat and veg is going to be 'fun' :rolleyespink:

Keep well and have a great day

                Aloha!

                            Aloha everyone,

Yesterday seemed even hotter and stickier and there seems to be no change for the next two weeks. So it's early morning gardening and daytime hiding. :heehee:
