Yesterday was another busy one. Friends came round in the evening - Mrs Shiney took me to a couple of church flower/harvest festivals in the afternoon and then I starting cooking for today.

Eight friends coming today for afternoon tea and dinner in the evening. I've got everything prepared now. Scones and cake are ready and we're having Indian tonight. Six different curries are now cooked but I shall have to cook the rice at the last minute . The Indian 'salads' to go with the starters will be made just before serving.

@wiseowl I'm sure you're going to enjoy your day and make full use of it. I see your forecast for the next two weeks is sunshine and not overly hot. Good hop picking weather - those were the days.

I've been tidying up from yesterday. Clearing and storing the seat/bench cushions from the pergola (we had afternoon tea out there) and annoyed Sarafi as he was asleep on one of them. I've also done an hour of watering (too busy with visitors yesterday) and an hour of edging/weeding.

This morning is my regular appointment with the chiropodist and then bridge club in the afternoon.

Good morning all my friends and welcome to paradise,I have a hospital appointment his morning and also have to take Mrs Woo to the doctors at 9.30am.just thought I would put that in to cheer every one up anyway enjoy your day and keep on walking and smiling

We're going to have a very busy day today and not of the really enjoyable type. The freezer was unwittingly mistreated by Mrs Shiney last night and we shall have to completely defrost it. Unfortunately it is full to the brim Being an upright freezer it's not a simple matter of taking things out and scraping the ice from the inside. All the myriad of pipes at the back of the freezer have to be completely defrosted and they have frozen up because of the error. It's not possible to do it with a hair dryer (that would have been much too easy) as direct heat mustn't be applied. Putting bowls of hot water inside the freezer doesn't work as the pipes are on the outside! It just takes time and we hope the contents will not defrost too much. Some of the smaller, more delicate stuff we might be able to fit in our small chest freezer in the summerhouse. The rest will have to be stacked outside (under the covered pergola, as it's raining) and we shall cover the pile of things as best as possible.

Oh well! Not too serious but most frustrating and annoying.

I'm still covered in bites and some of them are still very uncomfortable and some of the blisters are popping

Apart from that we're fine and cheerful on this lovely rainy day that the garden has been crying out for. Sunshine for the next two weeks.
