    Aloha everyone,

@moyra Enjoy this nice sunny day. :blue thumb: I've had a wander round the garden and it's fairly mild out there - with a jacket on.

I thought I was catching up on my paperwork until yesterday's post arrived

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

It's late but I am very much wakey wakey. Spent my day pulling up diseased tomato plants and baking dirt. But found a 1917 half crown. Now if I only knew what it was worth.. I googled and got 2 shiilings and a 6 pence. Find, but what is a shilling? Sounds like something suffered from being exposed to an opportunist. ..such as.. "gee, did you hear that Moe responded to pham and got a shilling?"

So I still don't know what reward I got for my labour :heehee:

See you all on the sunny side :)

A shilling was twelve pennies in old money and five new pence.

A 1917 Half Crown could be worth a little bit depending on condition. They were made of silver (didn't stop making silver ones until after the war) and retail at approx. £15 - £100. If in fairly good condition you might be able to sell it on Ebay for £10 - £20. If in very good condition you could get more.

So I made 30 pence in the old money.... just enough to pay for the loo at Waterloo station.

I'll save it as a good luck piece. :)

              Aloha everyone,

@CanadianLori if it's in really good condition it could be worth £100, but that's highly unlikely. It's probably best as a good luck piece. :blue thumb:

@Loki We've had three good night threads over the years - all called Nighty night or similar. The first, about 12 years ago, lasted a year. The second, the following year, lasted a month and the third, only four years ago, lasted a day. :noidea:

Although it was nice to finish the day with saying good night it really didn't catch on. This is what I said over ten years ago when asked about it:-

We're getting on well in the garden but it won't look too much better for at least a couple of months as the leaves will be falling all that time and hiding the good work!

We have good weather forecast for the next few days, with a little rain at night and one day when it may be quite windy.

Keep well and have a great day

              Aloha!

We are cloudy at the moment but the sun keeps promising to peak through. It is already 70f but the guessers have said that we will resume typical fall temperatures this evening and for at least the next month. Then, well, we freeze!

I'll be out sorting out the greenhouses this afternoon. I've got to make choices as to which plants get to stay in the heated greenhouse and which ones will die a natural death because I have 8 too many plants to fit in the heated area. I need to replace the window film in the one peaked section at the back of the heated greenhouse, before putting the plants back, as I had accidently ripped the film last spring.. yes, should have repaired it then instead of waiting until the plants took over :doh:But, I have to play checkers with the plants anyway and the exercise is always good.

Might even have time to bake more dirt. Yesterday I baked enouh to fill 15 hanging pots :spinning:

Have a great day and play safe!

                        Aloha everyone,

I've been out all morning and shall start back on the digging - after I've had a cuppa. :blue thumb:

It's very warm but the wind is picking up and is very gusty.

Keep well and have a great day

Storm Callum is raging but the rain stopped this afternoon so I cut down the bashed cannas, dahlias, echinaceas and planted out a few biennials.
                          Very,,very warm here too. :)

It is cloudy and our high will be 53f which makes a a great day to be outside baking more dirt. Only have about another 50 liters to finish today and then I'm off to do some shopping before the Mums get their kids from school and descend on the stores.

I hope everyone is playing safe and the storm over there isn't too mean!
