You sir, could write mine in shhhhhhhhh........... and it would still be cherished (although kept away from sources of warmth to prevent convection currents, and most likely viewed from the other side of the greenhouse glass  )

If I ever call any one "Sir", as I explained to my Officers in the rif raf, it would be spelt "Cur", FC:heehee:

@Flumpy, I'm sure all will go smoothly for your Dad tomorrow, but nevertheless any medical procedure raises a certain amount of worries I know, so thoughts are with you all. Keep us posted please.:):hapflower:

I'm sure that everything will be fine, however you worrying is only natural. Just remember, we are all here if you need us to bounce off, and we will all look forward to hearing that all is well later in the day tomorrow.

                Aloha everyone,

@wiseowl I've been hiding on other parts of the forum :rolleyespink: :snorky:

My parents did, almost, that with one of my uncles and aunts (brothers married to cousins) for forty years with their anniversary card. They wrote in pen but still sent it backwards and forwards each year. :)

Also, the family crib is still around, somewhere. It was first used for my sister (now nearly 80) and then passed on to the next available baby. All the babies had their names painted on to it. I know that my sister's granddaughter was in it but don't thing the great grand children have been in it so it's probably at another part of the family.

Re Christmas cards. We stopped giving them many years ago and told everyone to stop sending them to us and give the money to charity - as we do. We used to receive about 300 and send out 200! We used to still give them to the senior generation relatives but we're that classification now. :old: Christmas emails are sent to friends and family abroad.

                It's a milder day today :)

Keep well and have great day

                Aloha!

Yes the thought of writing all those cards is bad enough, but the price of posting them all is :yikes::yikes:!!!!

How lovely to have a family crib @shiney .

Hope you all have a great day:biggrin:

I just love sending and receiving cards its all part of Christmas:old::smile:

Its just a lovely feeling knowing that someone was taking the time and trouble and was thinking about you for a few moments and saw fit to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year. ;)

I wonder what my Sons,Daughters, Grandchildren family and friends would think,if I said I'm not sending any cards this year because the price of a stamp is to expensive:whistle:

Yes I agree really @wiseowl , don't listen to me I'm in grouch mode because it's a grey ,wet and depressing looking day out there.:oopss:

Having said that we do have a lot to send abroad too and it soon mounts up the pennies.

I do feel so sorry for those who do find the cost of postage eating away into their ( maybe quite small) Christmas budget, especially if they are trying to provide for a number of children as well...we all want to provide our children with a memorable Christmas!:dbgrtmb:

Good morning everyone. I stopped sending cards last year. I also refused to put a tree up. I think the whole Christmas experience has been spoilt by over commercialisation. I think it is more important when there are children around

Have a good day everyone , Take care. stay warm and dry and above all safe and well. God bless.:wub2:

We found that by giving the money the money to charity that we would have spent on cards and postage we were able to send £300.

We see most of our friends and family fairly regularly and give them Christmas and New Year wishes. Others we phone and/or send emails. :blue thumb:
