    Good morning everyone,

Shiney, fingers crossed that you have more things in bloom for the end of the month as I know from your past photos that youre garden usually looks beautiful on the day.At the moment we have mainly cottage garden flowers plus iris and one climbing rose in flower but not sure what even we would have in flower at the months end.One plant we can rely on for scent and flowers for a couple of months is Sweet Rocket which for us is white and it self seeds each year so we always have a nice display.:)You are right about the iris's as our flowers only seem to last a couple of days like a lot of the ornamental {opium}type poppies.Pelargoniums and geraniums would add colour but not sure if you have many of the perennial types and I expect the house type you would have them for sale :D

Last night when we went for a quick village walk the sky was quiet black in places and we actually had a good shower for thirty seconds which wetted the windows but then it stopped and we continued as we normally do at the moment.:rolleyespink:I heard a rumour that June and July are supposed to be wet throughout those two months and Mr Kandy has just said that Chelsea flower show might be a failure because a lot of the flowers on plants have already come and gone

Penny is your Canadian weather as per normal for this time of the year or have you been having odd weather at the moment?:)

Anyway, the sun is shining again so I can't complain as I like a bit of sun on my skin but we have a chilly wind.We heard our first village Cuckoo last night which was a bonus for our walk :yay:

    Have a good day everyone.:)

    Good morning everyone,

Kandy, we do have a number of other perrenials that are in flower and will continue to flower through the summer but I can't remember the names . I rely on Mrs shiney to remember plant names .

The standholders at Chelsea shouldn't have too much trouble as they tend to grow all their plants under artificial conditions. A lot are grown in light and temperature controlled glasshouses. If the weather conditions aren't suitable they have blackout blinds and artificial lighting and heating/cooling. That's how they can produce plants like daffs in full bloom.

I've almost completely finished the pressure hosing now :yahoo: but shall have to start on the hedge cutting. A friend who is a professional gardener has offered to do some of the more difficult cutting free of charge in aid of the charity. He knows I've got problems with my back and would probably have had to get someone in to do it. Aren't people generous? :dbgrtmb: :yay:

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning Woo and Shiney,

Woo the photos sound very nice up the stairs and it must be delightful being able to study them everytime you walk up and down the staircase.:thumbsup:We saw our first Cuckoo of the year a couple of weeks ago but have never managed to get a photo of one as they are usually flying like this one was.Good luck in your quest :)

Shiney,I think Mr Kandy saw it on the news about Chelsea and even the plants that they keep in reserve are suffering because of the dry weather but as I didn't see the report don't really know what was said:DGlad that we haven't got a patio as I would hate having to spend hours on end pressure washing it.I would rather do ironing instead:mute::heehee:

We went to the allotment yesterday afternoon and got some veggies picked although our rhubarb isn't doing very well this year despite lots of watering and feeding:mad:We had some more rain last night when the drak clouds came over but it just wasn't heavy or prolonged enough to do any good and my waterbutt is getting emptied again:mad:

We are off out at lunch time to a 60th Birthday meal so looking forward to not having to cook for once:hapfeet:

Hope you all have a good day:sunny:

Good morning Kandy, woo and everyone,

    Kandy, enjoy your lunch :dbgrtmb:

It would be easy with a smaller patio. Our paved area covers more ground surface than all the rooms in our house and the garden room :rolleyespink: and with me only being able to do a small amount at a time it takes quite long.

    Still no rain here.

I got quite a lot of hedge cutting done yesterday but my friend will have to do the parts I couldn't reach as well as everything I haven't even started. I guess it will take him about 5 hours.

Woo, keep flying and enjoy your day.

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning everyone,

Dull here this morning but the sun is trying to come out so think it will be a good day as I have hung some washing out.We had a few spots again at lunch time but nothing much at all and only felt it spitting before it stopped...

Shiney,we had a lovely meal thanks although I shouldn't have had three courses because I am not used to it so felt uncomfortable for the rest of the day and couldn't eat another thing but stabbed my finger this morning before breakfast and got a reading of 5.8mm so think that it is ok hopefully. Will have to go easy for the rest of the week now:yess:

My Kandy is having to cut back our honeysuckle plant as the tendril like stems are trying to find some light now that we have another house close to ours and if he doesn't cut it back the stems will strangle the new neighbours:heehee:

Woo,hope you are keeping well and don't worry too much about the Cuckoo as I am sure you will snap him eventually :D

Hope you all have a lovely day :):sunny:

      Good morning Woo and everyone,

Very nice photo of the female Blackbird Woo and it looks nice and clear:thumbsup:

It is sunny here this morning so I can't complain really as i need some :sunny: weather to keep me functioning:DWe had horrible winds over the last few days and the temperature dropped quiet a bit but will see what it goes up to today:yess: We keep having some rain but no sooner as it has hit the ground it has dried up.Even the rape plants that are growing in the garden from the bird seed were whilting yesterday and i had to water them as i want the yellow of the flowers for more garden colour and for the bees to enjoy:)One of my friends dropped by yesterday morning and said how lovely our cottage garden looks with all the flowers in bloom and I said to her it was one reason why i don't have time to go with her to Zumba classes as i don't have much time with everything else i am doing:loll:

Have been sorting through my wardrobe this morning and getting some clothes together that are too big for me now to donate to a cat rescue charity we are supporting and as they are having a coffee morning this coming Saturday I am getting stuff together which can be sold to rasie money to help them out :yess:

Hope you all have a good day and enjoy it :)
