    Good morning everyone,

Woo, I have seen and commented on your photos regarding the Dickens Festival down your way. They do nothing in the towns here, rather a boring lot really:yess:

Shiney sorry to hear of your foot problem and hope that you can get it sorted for walking before you head up north.Fingers crossed for you:dbgrtmb:

Moyra,I didn't bother putting my quid on the Queens horse because I already knew the French horse was going to win it so didn't want to waste my pound:heehee:

We managed to get over to the allotment yesterday and was there six hours, but we managed to get all the toms, peppers, sweetcorn, squashes etc planted out so just hoping now that they don't get too battered by this wind that is strong again.:mad:It was a lovely hot day yesterday despite the wind and yet today it is cold and still quiet breezy out there so we won't be doing a lot outside:mad:

    Have a good day everyone:yess:

    Good morning Kandy and everyone,

Yesterday was a bit too muggy and warm for me. Did a load of mowing and tidying up around the garden but gave up after lunch because of the heat.

It's still warm and sunny but the forecast is lower temperatures.

Kandy, my foot is a nuisance but it won't stop me walking :dbgrtmb:. I'll just have to be careful about how I put my foot on hard rocky bits. We're seeing Steve today and shall be taking a load of plants for him. :)

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning everyone,

Steady rain falling here this morning which is most welcome as the garden and allotment desperately need it and perhaps now the cracks in my borders will start to close back up again:yess:

Hope you have a good day despite the rain if you get some :)

    Hi all,

Just popping in.......i've been off and running today, i had to go down to Toronto early this morning, and when i got back, i went and cut the inlaws lawn, they are away for the next 2 1/2 weeks, so we are house sitting.

Off to the bank shortly, and pick up Brad, then to do some shopping, and get the paint for the bathroom, and new mirror.....and tomorrow we rent the conrete saw to cut some holes, and then on Saturday, we pick up the post hole auger (that should be fun), and start building the deck!!!

Its supposed to rain later Saturday, so if it does, we will be painting the bathroom.

Hi Everyone, anyone else go to the trouble of covering their veggies up last night because of the temperature drop? I heard late in the evening that it was going down to 4c last night so had to get some frost protection out quick and cover the benas and sweet corn etc. Didn't imagine doing that in June with all the global warming!!

    Have a good day everyone.

    Good morning everyone,

I'm just back from a lovely week in the Lake District. We were lucky that the good weather followed us around and the small amount of rain seemed to only come down when we had gone indoors for lunch or dinner :dbgrtmb:.

This was typical. We had just come down to Wasdale Head after a walk with our destination in sight (the Inn in the distance). As we walked in the door the heavens opened and when we finished lunch the rain stopped. :yahoo:

Most of our walks were in sunshine and we only got rained on for 20 minutes during the whole of the week. Most of the time it was sunny with a nice breeze to keep us cool.

We met up with Steve R and Anne and exchanged plants. We definitely got the best of the swap as Steve's plants were much bigger and in better condition. One of his plants is a round courgette and during the week it has developed three fruit which seem to be growing quickly.

Oscar was very pleased to see Mrs shiney and gave her a big hug.:kittykiss:

I'm just off to do the shopping.

    Have a great day :D

      Hi Kandy, shiney et al.

No Kandy I live in the south of essex but I lay in bed and heard them saying on the radio that it was snowing in London briefly and that it was going down to 4c so I promptly got up and dressed and went out and covered all my veggies especially the sweet corn. They have been doing too good to lose them now. Ridiculous weather though I had to put the gas fire on yesterday I was so cold. It's the wind with the rain. We had a tornado over Basildon over the weekend as well. photo of the twister on the front page of my echo this morning. Where's the flaming June we were promised?

Lovely photo Shiney, glad you had relatively good weather up there. You missed the bad weather down here! Ha ha.

      Good afternoon Shiney and Moyra:)

Shiney, good photo and glad you had a good week.I was trying to find the Inn in the distance in your photo but it was a tree, then suddenly spotted it in the near distance:DWe didn't get any rain until the end of the week {Saturday evening} when we were indoors and had hailstones mixed in with it but more yesterday. At least it filled the waterbutt back up.Enjoy your shopping:D

Moyra,as frost had been forecast I thought you might live up North but was surprised that Essex would get frost as Shiney lives down that way and he normally has good weather:DI had to put the heating back on as I was feeling quiet cold,so you wasn't the only one.I would have loved to have seen that Tornado though over Basildon and they gave it out this morning that NZ have had earthquakes again:rolleyespink:

Im just having a bite to eat and then going to settle down and watch Murray Mint and Tsonga at Queens as it got rained off yesterday so it should be a good match as they are both very good players:yess:

      Enjoy your afternoon:)
