    Hi all,

Popping back in.....i got our lawn cut, trimmed and everything watered....the cutting part was fun, its like an obstacle course out there, with wood, cement posts and wooden beams...but its done!!

Need to to the inlaws, i was going to go up now, but Brad called and he needs to go up(parents house) and plain some wood, so i'll do it tonight when he's doing the wood...he's taking tomorrow off again, to paint the bathroom and we can start builing the deck!!

    Good morning everyone,

Well we had some rain last night but not much at all so don't think it will have made much difference to the ground but at least I didn't have to water anything:DI started mowing my lawns last night but the mower packed up so couldn't get it finished. It has been cutting out for weeks when i pull it backwards and then finally died on me.It is over fifteen years old so doesn't owe us anything so if Mr Kandy can't get iut working then up the tip it will go :D

I am cat sitting again to day,the first of three daily visits so had better go and get ready as I want to get over to the lottie today to drop off the rolls of dead turf and bags of laurel clippings my friend gave me yesterday before we get this heavy forecasted rain :yess:

    Have a good day all:)

    Good morning everyone,

Yesterday evening we had a lovely thunderstorm and heavy rain for about 45 minutes. Then the sun came out again. The forecast for today is quite windy and rain in the afternoon but at the moment it is mild and not the slightest breeze.

We were supposed to be meeting up with one of our friends who is on tour with 'Calendar Girls' as it is back in Cambridge but Mrs shiney is having to go with one of her patients to a specialist in London.

So I shall go shopping and start preparing the food for the students this weekend. I may do some mowing if the grass isn't too soggy.

Kandy, the cats are getting spoilt with three visits a day :)

    Have a great day :D

      Good morning everyone,

Brilliant photos of the Minster Pal and glad to hear that the weather and everything was ok for you both .Do they still sell minutes for the upkeep of the place or has that been done away with?We went there many years ago and it used to be £1 to buy the minute but don't know whether it has gone up or has been done away with:D

Shiney, sorry to hear you wasn't able to go and meet up with the ' Calendar Girls' friend but better luck next time and hope that Mrs Shineys day was good and that your student weekend goes off ok:dbgrtmb:

Had a text message from my friend worrying about her cats so texted her back to say that everyhting is ok and they are enjoying being spoilt by me and Mr K.Today I am going to take my phone to get a piccy of them to send to her so she can see for herself they are ok:D

Well I managed to get to the allotment yesterday and got an hour in before it started raining so had to leg it home in the end.I collected up some more snails then took them in their container over to our woodland so they have a new home and with luck the Song and Mistle Thrushes will find them:D

Off grocery shopping this morning after seeing to Bruno and Puddles, then we might have to go and have a look at a new cheap lawnmower so we can take the old one to the tip:yess:and in between get over to the lottie..

      Have a good day everyone:)

        Good morning everyone,

Pal, I'm pleased you had a good time and those are great photos. :dbgrtmb:

Kandy, Mrs shiney's patient had to have an MRI and CAT scan so they spent all day at the hospital in London and she has to go back next week. There is some problem with her brain and Mrs shiney goes with the family as she is the only one that can keep her calm.

I'll be popping on here briefly during the day. I've got all the food to prepare and cook for the students - and serve it and wash up . Menu today:- Salad (with homegrown tomatoes, lettuce and sprouting seeds), veggie chilli and rice, garlic ciabbatta, chocolate pots done with liqueur and/or fresh fruit.

It is our village festival this weekend and I shall have to deliver some plants for the plant stall. I've also organised the judging of the photographic competition in the village hall - 9 a.m. this morning.

I didn't get a chance to mow yesterday as it rained all day so I hope I can get out there later on.

        Have a great day :D

          Good morning everyone,

Shiney hope that all went well with Mrs Shineys friend and the results of the Cat and MRI scan are good and it is good of Mrs Shiney to go with the family if the lady gets in a bit of a state.

I fancied the chocolate pots and the fresh fruit but don't fancy any of the other food but no doubt your students enjoyed it:yess:Are your homegrown toms some of your own Shiney?:)

We went and got the grocery shopping done yesterday morning and had a chat and laugh with our till lady which was nice:hapfeet:then after lunch we went and fed the cats again before popping over to the allotment for a few hours. It started raining just as we arrived but it was short lived and the sun shone for the rest of the afternoon so while Mr K weeded the next batch of carrot seedlings I filled another compost bin and then set to work weeding out some of the horse tail that is growing on one of the plots so that bit looks nice now and it gave me a workout with the matoc:yess:

          Have a good day everyone:)

          Good morning everyone,

Kandy, the toms were from the plants that Kristen brought along two weeks ago.

I got some of the mowing done yesterday and one of Mrs shiney's students asked if I could bag up the cutting for her 13 guinea pigs.

Yesterday afternoon it peed down with rain but they forecast a better day today so I may pop in to the festival this afternoon.

Todays menu is salad, stir fried veg (spring onions, mange tout, sugar snap, asparagus, purple sprouting tips, carrots, baby corn, courgette, sweet pepers, celery, bean sprouts) lightly flavoured with garlic, fresh ginger, and a touch of soy sauce, stock and rice wine, served with saffron rice. Followed by apple crumble (no sugar, flour or butter but made with ground almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and chopped mixed nuts) and a platter of melon, mango and strawberries.

          Have a great day :D

          Good morning everyone,

I've done an hour of edging the lawns this morning and it's quite mild out there with the sun shining brightly.

Yesterday went off very well and I found time in the morning to go to the village festival. All the usual side shows, over 200 cars on display, birds of prey, ferret society, bagpipe band marching around, many things going on in the arena (a part of the green sectioned off by straw bales) where I watched the kids fancy dress and the best pet display.

hope you all had a good weekend.

          Have a great day :D

          Good morning Shiney and everyone,

Shiney I have been up for an hour but have a bit of a headache and can't get motivated at all so will just take the day as it comes.:DAs it is Wimbledon fortnight I might be a bit lazy for two weeks as I don't want to miss any of the good matches etc:D

          Glad to hear the festival went off ok and that the weather was decent.The food you cooked sounds nice as well.We had roast beef,roast spuds,yorkshire puds,with homegrown peas,carrots,and parsnip thinings so it all went down nicely and for afters I had a little bit of ice cream while Mr K had some fresh fruit{well as fresh as it can be from Tescos:heehee:}

In the afternoon we drove down to Focus but there was hardly anyhting left and the place was bare and as it looked like rain we decided to pop to a GC we haven't visited for months and managed to find some six pack strawberry plants knocked down to £2 per pack so we got eight packs complete with ripe fruit so we think we got a good bargain for 33p per plant.Another job for me to do at some point today, planting them all at the lottie before we get the rain tonight...

The sun is shining and the birds are tweeting although it does feel a tad cool with the window open.Anyway,no kitty sitting this week as the owners are back so no need to rush today:loll:

Have a good one everyone in all that you do :)

          Good morning Kandy,

I tried resisting but didn't manage it. :heehee:

The forecast rain missed us yesterday but it's a bit dull out there and quite windy.

I spent some time yesterday mindreading, whoops, sorry, I meant bindweeding. Now that we've had rain a few days ago the bindweed is growing like mad. As all the plants have bushed out so much it's difficult to see the bindweed until it has climbed up through them. Some of it had even started to flower .

Whilst I was working out there I heard a loud caterwauling and lots of hissing. The caterwauling usually means Oscar and Monty are having a disagreement but I've never heard them hissing at each other. So I went in search of the problem. It turned out to be Monty and Fluffy getting ready for a fight. Oscar was fast asleep (or pretending to be) about 50ft away!

          Have a great day :D
