    Afternoon everyone. :)

Shiney, how did your weekend go? Was the festival a roaring success? Did your wife manage to sell her wares? Am I right in thinking that she paints & crafts? *hopes she's remembered correctly* Did you come home with many plants?

Kandy, hope you're feeling better now.

O2, Hope your spuds turn out ok. The one's I planted last year were taken in with blight. So I lost the lot. Will try again sometime this year, but I have a lot on garden wise at the mo, so don't want to plant any veggies until my new greenhouse is built.. Should be delivered in the next 5 weeks or so. To say I'm excited is an understatement!!!

Hi Woo, Ho Louise , hope your days turned into brilliant sunshine. It did here!!:happydance:

Penny, fingers crossed that the snow clears off, and the sun comes out for you too!

Well, I'm absolutely shattered!!! Have been out in the garden all day, and I'm fit to drop. But I feel I've got a bit done.. Cleared one of the borders of it's early weeds and put in some Wallfowers. Sowed some Sweetpeas and tidied up the support for them to grow up. I've taken a bit of a risk in where I've sown them, as it can be quite a shady spot, but it does get more sunshine as the spring turns into summer. So, with a bit of luck, some of the seeds will take ok, and it'll cover up the area of the oil tank quite nicely. Ooo, hub mowed as well the weekend, so the lawn is looking a lot better now.. Still got a resident mole though, who has delighted us with more little hills this mornign! :gaagh:

Have a great week everyone.. xxxx :coffee:

    Good evening,

The Festival was very good but we didn't do all that well, although we covered our expenses.

There thousands of people there with some of them coming hundreds of miles in coach parties. Most of those people didn't have much money to spend. Mainly just enough for food and a few plants. Saturday was freezing which didn't help as people kept moving to keep warm.

It's always worth a visit but we shan't have a stand there again as the money we took wasn't really worth a whole weekend for two of us.

Mrs shiney bought some nice grasses.

Got some mowing done this afternoon.

    Good morning everyone,

Hope you are well Joolz and enjoying the spring flowers out your way

O2,sorry to hear your back is still giving you jip.I find that keeping moving helps when my sciatica kicks off and i try different pairs of footwear when we go out walking and also since we have got a new bed it has really made all the difference.Hope yuo find some relief soon:)Hope the spuds turn out well and you get back a good harvest

Shiney sorry that you and your good lady didn't do very well at the show and i expect as you say the weather didn't help.We don't go off for our usual Sunday afternoon drive now that the petrol prices are sky high,we either go off for walks across the fields or we get on our bikes. We try to save on the fuel and then occasionaly have a trip out somewhere.I think a lot of people are doing the same round here :p

Penny,I don't know what $200 works out in Sterling so have no idea what you are spending but it sounds a lot, sorry :p

I feel worn out this morning now that we have changed the clocks again and am struggling to get up in the mornings.Had some good news yesterday though the results of my Cholesterol test is in and it is down to 4.1 :happydance::yay: much to Mr Kandy's disgust :heehee:

Hope you all have a great day :)

    Morning :)
It's a very cloudy one out there today, wouldn't be surprised to see rain - which is needed.

Good morning Kandy, woo, Louise and everyone,

It's a bit frosty out there but the sun is shining brightly and the forecast predicts a warm day

The garden is looking really good at the moment. Lawns cut, most of the edges finished, only the veggie garden not weeded, compost spread everywhere, everything growing well, flowers blooming and the greenhouse full of seedlings and potted on plants :yahoo:

    Have a great day :D

I wish i was as ahead :rolleyespink:

Yesterday afternoon i started the revamp of my rockery area but with this dratted having to go out to work it severely hampers my progress :WINK1:

    Work???? What's that? :heehee:

Sorry, Louise :) - but I did have 44 years of it.

We have to keep on top of the garden as it is quite large and we open it to the public at the end of May. Everything will soon be growing like mad so we have to make things as easy to maintain as possible.

    Good morning everyone,

penny, It's good to hear that your snow is finally going

    woo, look after yourself :)

It quite dull out there at the moment but the promised rain hasn't arrived yet. I may be able to get some work done before it starts. The garden really needs a good watering and then we can put in some of the bulbs and tubers we have waiting - dahlias etc. Hopefully the rain will get the onion sets started as they aren't doing anything at the moment.

The rhubarb is doing well (sold a load yesterday) but it will be much happier once the rain has come :happydance:

    Have a great day :D

    Morning all.

It's a grey and damp start to the day here, perfect for the weeds to fight me back, little blighters! And I'm off to work later, so it'll be tomorrow or Friday before I get to show them the door!!!

On a plus note, I planted out 8 trays of flower seeds on Friday, and some of them are going mental! :happydance: I'll make a note of them and post in the what are you growing thread later, as the names escape me at the moment..

Penny, good to hear that the snow is starting to thaw, we had more than our fair share of the white stuff over the winter, and as much as I like to see it, I was pleased to see the back of it! Fingers crossed the temp picks up for you now.

Shiney, it's a shame that the festival wasn't more profitable for you. like you say though, at least you covered your expenses.

Kandy, hope you're feeling better today!!! x

Louise, I too wish I was further along with the garden. I always seem to have four things on the go with it, so I flit about like a demented fly half the time.. I love being out in the garden, even though, if truth be told; I don't have the first clue really still, I'll have a go. If it works, and all comes out well, then it's a bonus!!! If not, I'll learn from it, and have another go!! hehehe.

Morning Woo, I loved your beautiful sunrise picture you posted. Truly gorgeous.

Well, time for me to think about getting ready for work... With a bit of luck, it'll brighten up here as the day moves on, and I can do a little bit in the garden when I'm home at 4. Have a wonderful day everyone.x

PS. I've just heard my first Woodpecker of the year! :yay:
