    Good morning everyone,

Kandy, you had about ten drops more than we did. They're now forecasting rain from 11 a.m.

I had a good 45 minutes of sleep in the night and am raring to go - well, almost. :heehee:

We have a friend staying in the summerhouse so I had better start getting things ready for brakfast.

    Have a great day :D

Morning Shiney,Mr Kandy told me it wouldn't be worth my while going to the allotment yesterday as we were going to have so much rain in the evening so didn't go as it was so hot anyway:DI amazed at how you can function on so little sleep,my brain would be like a fog if that was me :D

Enjoy your day and please send Mrs Shiney my regards and hope Oscar has recovered from his sunbathing:D

    Good mornin everyone,

Penny,my that is one heavy dog and I should imagine you don't have to lift him in and out of the bath to wash him, just stand him on the back, lawn although i wonder how much water he sheds when he shakes himself afterwards:D

Louise isn't it amazing how these cats with their markings can vanish when they get in amongst the shrubbery. Our Poppy is a tortishell on white so has lots of white on her tummy but blends in so well whereas Willow and Uggy are both a blue colour so just lie all over the place lapping up the sun:DPoppy also has made herself a hammock on the garage wall that is South facing so likes to sleep up there all day and into the evening where she is out of the way of the other two:heehee:

Shiney,45 minutes sleep, eeek.Your brain doesn't seem to switch off like ours does.I wouldn't be able to function if i only had that amount of sleep each day:D

Woo,hope all is well with you and that you didn't get affected by any of the storms yesterday:)

I managed to get to the allotment yesterday but as I was tipping a bucket of veg peelings into my compost bag something pulled in my arm and now am in agony:OUCH:.I didn't even think I could drive home as changing gear was horrendous.I took some pain killers and had my heat pad on it all night but haven't been able to sleep all night.I can't be out of action as I have too much to do so will just have to try and ignore it:D

    Have a good day everyone:)

      Good morning everyone,

Penny, Kobe sure is big :rolleyespink:. Does he take you for walks? :heehee:

Louise, I hope you slept a bit better

woo, I hope things are picking up for you, and Mrs shiney and Oscar send their best wishes :dbgrtmb:

Kandy, it sounds as though you have pulled a muscle in your arm. Take it easy for a while to give it a rest and only use the other one to hit Mr K. :heehee:

I had a lot of sleep last night. A good 15 minute nap in the armchair at 11.30 then to bed for an hour at 2 a.m., did some reading until 4.40 and back to bed for just over an hour. Now I'm raring to go :dancy:

Yesterday afternoon we had thunderstorms and heavy rain but it had cleared before evening. Then we took three friends out for their birthdays to an Indian restaurant. A good meal and a good laugh. :dbgrtmb: The ones that have been staying are leaving this morning and I've got a few things I want to do in the garden and a meeting this afternoon.

      Have ag reat day :D

        Good morning everyone,

Its cooler here today and overcast, feels like rain.....it did rain a little lastnight, but not much.

Off to do some errands for Brad, and do some weeding outside......plus i need to pop into Home Depot and pick up a few things for Brad, for the deck, which we havent worked on since Sunday, Brad has to sooooooo busy with work, but Friday is a holiday here (canada day)......so back to deck building!!

With Kobe, we actually hook the garden hose up to the laundry sink, and use warm water and bath him in the driveway.....there is no way that you would ever get him in a tub.

And yep Shiney.....he does......he's almost 11 now and all the things he was trained for as a pup, he ignores now, and thinks that every dog should see him, and vice versa.....he sure works my leg muscles!!

          Good morning everyone,

Hope not too many people are affected by the strikes that are going on today. At least the roads will be quieter as there won't be as many gas guzzlers on the road:yess:

Penny good age for Kobe and I bet you have had over the years many happy hours of enjoyment with him:)Good idea to wash him on the drive though. When we had our Tina and she got muddy we had to use the hose pipe on her which she loved in the summer months:D

Shiney,I thought it might be a pulled muscle and after emailing one of my friends she offered to help me with the watering at the allotment so picked her up on the way as the allotments are in the same village where we and my friends live.It was a great help to me:yess:It still feels sore this morning but at least I had a better night sleep but that is probably something to do with the painkillers i have been taking:DGlad you enjoyed the birthday celebrations as well Shiney:dbgrtmb:

Had a good day yesterday and enjoyed watching Federer get knocked out of Wimbledon and Murray get through to the next round while i was podding peas and broad beans:thumbsup:

Hope everyone has a good day:)

          Good morning everyone,

          Another beautiful day.

Kandy, I hope you arm gets better quickly :dbgrtmb:

We had a sad drama last night at the bridge club. One of the players collapsed in the kitchen and appeared to be having a fit but may have been a heart attack as well. He stopped breathing but two of our members (with first aid training) started working on him and got him breathing again. Whilst we were waiting for the ambulance he stopped breathing a number of times and when they got him started again each time his breathing was very laboured. He wasn't conscious during any of this.

The first response paramedic arrived and worked on him and used a defib machine. Then another paramedic arrived and they were still working on him (his breathing kept stopping) when the ambulance arrived. Then there were five of them working on him. After about another 20 minutes they got him into the ambulance and were working on him for another 15 minutes. Then they took him to the hospital.

We have no idea what state his was in when they left for the hospital as the doors on the ambulance were closed all the time but I think he was still alive as one of the paramedics left his car at the village.

As chairman of the club it was my job to call his wife and tell her the sad news! It took us half an hour to find out his phone number as he wasn't actually a member of the bridge club but only a visitor. I shall have to phone the hospital this morning and find out how he is but it didn't look too hopeful last night. Apparently, he had a medical emergency card on a chain round his neck and he had a bad heart.

          I hope he is OK.

We had some friends staying with us at the beginning of the week but they went home yesterday. Now we've got to start getting ready for more friends who will be staying at the weekend :phew:. They stayed, and will be staying, in the summerhouse. All the bedding has been washed and changed, room cleaned out, fresh flower arrangement to be made (not by me :heehee:), food planned and shopping got. We also want to get the garden nice and tidy, grass cut, edges trimmed - and the weeds are growing like mad . One of the local gardening clubs have asked to have their annual buffet in our garden On Wednesday :rolleyespink:! So I shall have to continue working har to keep the garden tidy.

I'm off to the dentist later on for my annual check up.

          Have a great day :D

Just back from the hospital. No real news. He's in intensive care and breathing on his own but don't know whether there is brain damage. When I saw him it didn't look to hopeful.
