    Good mornng everyone,

Shiney sorry to hear that about the heart attack vicitm and may he rest in peace. It is very sad for his family but at least he passed away doing something he enjoyed and wasn't left a cabbage for his family to look after, which is one consolation.....

The sun is out again and it looks like it will be a good morning but rain is forecast for lunch time so we shall see as they have said that before:heehee:My waterbutt is all but empty again and I still have large cracks in the borders plus my buddleias are whilting despite me watering them so i hope we get a drop of the wet stuff today or elses the bees and cabbage white butterflies will have nothing much to feed on:D

Hope you all have a good day:)

    Good morning everyone,

It is warm and sunny here today and forecast to be even hotter than yesterday - until the rain comes.

Rabbits have taken a fancy to the runner beans . I had a long talk with Oscar about it but he didn't seem interested. So I took him down to the veg garden and showed him the rabbit droppings and he promptly plonked himself down and went to sleep on top of them! :thud: :wallbang:

The cousins from Florida that we stayed with in January are now in England and we are off this morning to a cousin out to the west of London who is throwing a party for them. Should be loads of cousins there :dbgrtmb:. Another cousin from Texas is coming to stay at the weekend so we are getting busy.

Tomorrow evening the local gardening club are having their annual summer buffet in our garden so I shall have to make sure that everything looks tidy.

    Have a great day :D

We still need to finish behind the blue tarp, and we have a patio door that will go in that window, and we are having a Mennonite that does work for us, price out the cedar for the privacy panels.

      Good morning everyone,

Penny, you're doing a wonderful job :dbgrtmb:. The people here are unlikely to know what the Mennonites are  as there are very few in this country. I used to meet quite a lot when I was working out in Africa but it is a sect that never caught on over here.

We had some rain last night but it is now sunny. I hope it remains dry for this evening's event here. :)

      Have a great day :D

      Good morning everyone,

Been up since earlier on but have had lots to do,packing etc so just trying to fit everything in and then hopefully will be off to the lottie to pick some more fruit and veg...

Shiney are those Mennonites a bit like the Amish people, or have i got that wrong?:DI used to like the young Mormons that used to knock on my parents doors in the late sixties/early seventies as they were always American lads, very smartly dresssed and always good looking, but couldn't see them getting their hands dirty doing any manual work:heehee:

We had some rain last night which was most welcome although I didn't like having to run down the garden in it to pick up one of my pots of lilies that had blown over despite my watering the pot well before the rains came:mad:I emptied the waterbutt again so hopefully it will have more water in it now and we do need more rain to close up the cracks in my borders:D

Hope you all have a lovely:sunny:day:)

      Good morning everyone,

Its another muggy day here, but we did have some rain move through this morning, and still looks like more is on the way.

Off to Toronto soon, so have a great day everybody.

Ooops.....i never thought about that(not having any over there), Mennonite's are very similar to Amish, still drive horse drawn wagons and buggy's, the houses dont have any power going into them, but the shops all have ample power, still use the horses to plow the fields, the women all wear dresses, and bonnets.......we use 2 families to do some machining for us, stuff that we dont need to hit a tolerance on......nice people.

      Good morning everyone

I'm running late again this morning.Feeel quiet worn out and could have slept longer but have too much to cram into the day for that:D

Got to the allotment early yesterday but didn't leave until nearly 1pm so had to go and find a shop to get something to eat as my fruit and oatmeal biscuit wasn't enough and was feeling rough.Got home had a quick shower, hung out some washing and then sat and podded the tow carrier bags full of peas i had picked. There was so many I filled a chicken pellet bucket with the pods and apart from a couple of breaks i never finished until 8.50pm then got them bagged up for the freezer then started on my irioning, phew. No wonder i feel worn out today.:D

On our quick walk last night we came across a large caterpillar which we took lots of photos of and in me book it looks like we have found the larva of a Poplar Kitten Moth:yess:

Rian, sun and wind here this morning and i think we are going to get some more rain today.Good job we have got most of the packing done when it was sunny:heehee:

      Good morning everyone,

Drizzle today but it stayed dry Yesterday evening for the gardening club buffet we had here. Mrs shiney said it went well and it was sunny most of the time (I was at the bridge club). Apparently Oscar went straight to the man who had a stroke last year and sat with him all the time :kittykiss:

Kandy, you got a lot done yesterday :dbgrtmb:

I decided to go to bed last night (I've been just getting a couple of hours sleep in the armchair the last few nights) and was woken up with bad cramp this morning

We've got to take Mrs shiney's car for its service and MOT this morning. It's 11 years old this week - happy birthday, car. :heehee:

      Have a great day :D

      Greetings fellow forum members,

We have mixed weather today with sun, rain, sun, rain, and some more sun...and rain, but I'm not complaining as we do need it and very little helps:D

Been to the rip off shop again for our groceries but I'm not complaining as we need to eat and every little helps although I wish Mr K had split the groceries into two lots so that we had got two vouchers for the 5p off a litre of fuel, but I'm not complaining and every little helps:D

Anyway,we are busy at the moment so can't hang around and Mr K musn't be expected to do it all himself and every little helps :heehee:

      Enjoy your day everyone:sunny:

      Good morning everyone,

Its going to be a sunny, beautiful day here, no humidity, so thats good.

Have some errands to do today, and Brad is working until mid afternoon, trying to get some things done, since he will be shut down starting Monday, to prepare for his new machine to come Tuesday morning.

Tomorrow we will be working on the deck again.

      Good morning Louise and everyone,

I don't really know  :D as I'm not sure that not going to bed qualifies me as not having got up before you :heehee:.

I've got a lot of driving to do today. I have to go to Solihull to play bridge. I'm in a team representing the Eastern Counties in the national final. Then I'll have to drive back this evening in time (I hope) to meet up with Mrs shiney and a cousin who is over from the U.S. The cousins shall be coming round for lunch tomorrow and I have already cooked most of the food for it.

Kandy, I'm sure every little helps :yess: :heehee:

      Have a great day :D
