Everyone is due to turn up in 15 minutes time and I shall disappear off to the bridge club in ten minutes and back at 11.45. :yess: Everything is ready for the guests.

    "Take things easy"?

Sorry! I don't understand the phrase :heehee:. I occasionally get a couple of hours sleep in the armchair around 3 a.m.

Tomorrow I'm out early taking Mrs shiney to the station for her weekend course in London. She does come home in the evening :D and that will be just in time for us to go to a charity 'soiree' in aid of the local hospice. A friend of ours is a pianist and he and a couple of friends shall be performing some light classical music.

On Sunday I have to go to Ipswich where I'm part of our county bridge team playing against Suffolk. Then, when I get back about 9 p.m.we are going out to dinner with friends.

So just a normal relaxing weekend :WINK1: but I may get a little gardening done in between.

    Good morning everyone,

Just back from a fantastic week away with Mr K and had lots of nice sunny weather so now we both look nice and tanned:DOnly had about twenty minutes of heavy rain Saturday morning as we were sitting in the car park of a NT property we were visiting, then found out that we were an hour early for opening so had to go and do some retail therapy instead:heehee: before spednig a pleasant 2.45hours looking round the house, gardens and farm yard although I found the piggies a bit smelly:D

Since arrivng home we have had torrential rain which has brought the slugs and snails out in force so they are going to have to be collected up ready for their trip to their new home up in our village woodland where the Song and Mistle Thrushes can feed on them:D

I see the sun is just starting to break through so i might get my washing line dried after all:yess:

    Have a good day everyone:sunny:

    Good morning Kandy and everyone,

Kandy, I'm pleased that you had such a good holiday :happydance:. How's Mr K's ankle now?

We beat Suffolk at bridge yesterday :yess: so the travelling was worth it :). They were a very hospitable team and and friendly opposition :dbgrtmb:.

It's a bit of a blustery day today but we shall be busy. I have a meeting late morning (it's at home so I don't have to go out in the rain), then we have some friends from Japan coming for lunch and I have a county league match this evening.

    Have a great day :D

    Hi Shiney,

Mr K's ankle is a lot better Thanks although we try to not to walk for long distances as advised by the Dr or over ground that is too rough. If he has over done it the ankle soon lets him know although everyone he speaks to who has had the same problem have said that since they did theirs in they have always had a weakness even years later so he has now realised that it is a long term thing and something he will have to live with:(

Have you and Mrs Shiney ever been to Llanerchaeron house? If not it is well worth a visit if you ever get over to that part of Wales and worth it just to see the walled flower/veg garden with their ancient apple trees some of which are nearly if not over two hundred years old:D

Hope you all are keeping ok:wub2:

Popping back in......i went downtown with Kait, to do some errands and its amazing the amount of people here already for the Elvis Festiva(starts Thursday)l....cars from all over the USA, and Canada......store windows are all decorated with Elvis memorbilia.

Its hot here again, the humidity is back, so i turned on the AC again.

    Good morning everyone,

Sunny at the moment but thunder storms forecast for this afternoon.

Kandy, thanks for the info but I don't think we shall be visiting Wales as all our spare time is, almost, accounted for, for the next 20 years :loll:

My bridge team won our semi-final match in the local league last night :yess: so we now have to organise the final.

Our runner beans are now forming above the 3ft level (which is higher than the rabbits can reach) so I was able to pick nearly three pounds yesterday. We had our first proper meal of them last night :dbgrtmb:.

Sweetcorn plants are way above my head and the courgettes have gone mad.

I'm off to bridge in a couple of hours - for a change :heehee:

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning everyone,

Its another hot day here, supposed to be in the upper 30's, and tomorrow and Thursday they say we will hit the 40 mark!!! There are all kinds of heat advisories here.

Off to do some errands for Brad, and need to drive up to one of the Mennonite farms to drop off some parts.

Both girls are working today....had to take Kait to the hospital yesturday, she caught her heel in the door where she works and split it wide open, thought she needed stitches, but the bandaged it heavily, and gave her an antibiotic.........it was sick looking!!!!!

    Good morning everyone,

penny, I'm not sure that I would like your climate. The temperatures are too extreme for me :rolleyespink:. I hope Kait gets better quickly :dbgrtmb:

Moyra, it seemd as though Amber is keeping you fit :yess: :D

Kandy, everything is growing very well now - but so are the weeds. Yes, it has been a good season for my bridge :yess:. I've won about nine cups and trophies plus a couple of hundred pounds in prizes and the odd bottle of wine here and there :dbgrtmb:

Another summer buffet here tonight so hope the rain keeps off.

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning everyone,

Its another gorgeous day here, but going to be really really HOT.......I'll be using the BBQ again today!!

Today and tomorrow here are supposed to be the hottest days of the summer, and one news channel is saying that with humidity, we could reach almost 50*!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone, Kait is walking pretty gingerly on it, and is babying it......hopefully no one kicks her heel this weekend when she's down at Elvis!!

Hello Everyone. Ha ha yes Amber keeps me on the go all the time. I have to watch every minute as she has taken to digging holes underneath the shrubbery. I am so scared that she will get near slugs or snails. She is fast asleep on my bed at the moment having worn us all out with her antics. I am supposed to go for 6 weeks physio at the hospital soon but quite frankly I don't think I am going to need it. Still on the tramadol but seeing as I need to take painkillers I might as well carry on with it than make myself ill trying to get off it.

Congratulations Shiney on your Bridge achievements.

Hi everyone and a Good Morning to you all,

Moyra, there is no doubt about it dogs are great motivators to get you exercising. When we had our we had to take her out for good walks at least twice a day, come hell or high water and even though we have now had to let her go{aged 15}we still get out every evening for a walk and twice at weekends. We must have walked thousands of miles of those years and me tootsies know it as well:DLove the bit about the hole digging been there done that.Mine used to steal the potted on plants when i put them down and saw her shaking the pots around in her teeth until she had got rid of plant and compost then would lie down and chew the plastic pots to pieces:heehee:Just see how you go with the Tramadol if it keeps you pain free and see what the experts say about coming off of it later on when you are feeling better:)

Shiney,do you think you have got the hang of the game now after all these years with all your winnings recently:yess:

Penny make sure your daughter takes extra care with that heel wound and hope she feels a lot better soon:)

Had a good session over at the allotment digging up spuds but ama bit annoyed at the bunnies digging down to the late spuds and satrting to nibble some of them:mad:Mr K reckons it is the babies starting to eat diffreent things to see what they will and won't like the taste of and says we shall have to wire off more of the plots now:mad:

    Have a good day:sunny:
