    Good morning everyone

I'm feeling rather tired this morning and just didn't want to get up as it was such a sticky night last night in bed due to the humidity so was rtestless all night.I wish now we had taken the fan upstairs as that would have cooled us down nicely:cool:

Managed a couple of hours at the lottie yesterday and dug up two more rows of spuds but it took ages as it was so hot and the sweat was dripping off me so i felt exhausted especially with this rotten cold:cry3:

In the afternoon we had about tewenty minutes of heavy rain and thunder/lightning and then the sun came back out which was nice so had a pleasant evening:yess:
We have rain here now this morning so it doesn't look like I shall be doing much gardening today:D

    Have a good one everyone:sunny:

My garden needs it twice-over :D
It's so dry here that seconds are always necessary, if i were to dig down about 3 or 4 inches it would be dry :mute:

    Good morning everyone,

I got the front lawns mowed and was going to stop at that but, as happens, I noticed a few things that needed doing as I was taking the mower back to the shed.

Some of the garlic tops had died down completely so I thought I had better dig it up before we forget where it was. We don't grow the garlic in the veggie plot but scattered throughout the flower beds and planted in small circles. I had a great struggle actually getting the fork into the ground as it was so hard but ended up with a good crop.

Then I spotted a section of rambling rose that had snapped under the weight of all the roses. So that got cut back and the torn section of main stem I shortened and strapped back together and I hope it will mend.

After that I was much too hot and gave up in the garden.

This morning it is raining but should clear up soon. We have visitors this morning, then I have to go shopping as we have someone coming for dinner tonight and then I'm off to bridge.

    Have a great day :D

    Hello Everyone,

Kandy, I don't honestly know. I have to ask all these questions otherwise they do not tell me and I never thought to ask. I did my blood pressure last night and was concerned that it was 99/65 rather low. Which explains the swimmyness that I kept feeling yesterday. I asked the nurse whether I should leave off my high blood pressure pills seeing as my pressure had dropped and she said no it was better to keep it low than over the top but that was before it dropped to as low as 99/65. This morning it is 101/58 so I suppose I should have a word with the doc. My blood reading was 7.0 this morning. Still on 3 metformin per day.

Got to take Amber to the vets today its her kennel cough injection day. Then she is all done until she is spayed at 6 months and will have a chip put in at the same time. Taking her for a walk in the teeming rain this morning reminded me of the pleasures of having a dog, she didn't think much of the rain, call herself a labrador?!

    Have a good day all.

    Good morning everyone,

It's stopped raining and looks as though it might brighten up :sunny: but the forecast doesn't say so.

The runner beans are really getting into their stride now and I picked anothe 4lb yesterday, ate about 1lb with supper and sold the rest last night. I've got more orders for them tonight so shall get out there this afternoon and pick more. The golden plums are selling as quickly as I can pick them so the charity kitty is rising

A friend of Mrs shiney is thinking of buying a reverse osmosis water filter  and has asked me to review all the info. I happily said OK and just this morning received an email from her with 14 documents.

I've just finished reading them. One of them is, supposedly, a report from a university. I've just done a search on the author of the report and it's the managing director of the company selling them :rolleyespink:.
Some of the info is quite interesting and makes sense but some of the more esoteric science has a few rather dodgy premises and conclusions. At £1,400 it's not worth it when you can get a split system using a carbon filter and a resin filter for just about £100.

Phew, that's got that out of my system!!!! :heehee:

Louise, enjoy your half day - but I don't know which half

    Have a great day :D

        Good morning everyone,

I think today will be a nice day :sunny:
I hope it stays good as we have a number of people travelling quite some distance to get here today. They are other students that are on the same course as Mrs shiney and they're all coming to do some studying together. Mrs shiney has about 14 qualifications in different things (and teaches) but is always studying new things. :rolleyespink:

There are two mistle thrushes sitting on the bush outside my window and they seem to be looking at me :happydance:. They keep flying away and then returning

I've managed to catch up on a lot of the paperwork so hope to be doing some pottering in the garden. We picked another 20lb of golden plums yesterday as they are ripening at a fantastic rate. They are so ripe that the wasps are all around so after a while we had to give up. We'll go and pick more after they have settled back again.

        Have a great day :D
