    Good morning everyone,

Its warmer here today, the suns out....so it'll be a good day to work outside.

Brad took the day off to work some more on the bathroom.....it'll be nice to have running water again, so the new tub should be in by tomorrow....thankfully the inlaws live a few blocks away which makes it easier for showers.

    Morning everyone.
Wasn't yesterday a blustery one! I got whizzed about the garden like no one's business yesterday. Still, I managed to make a good start on the one border, just half of it left now to fettle out the weeds. I'm off to work for a few hours today, and then we have some friends coming over for the night. So I doubt I'll get anything green fingered done now till Monday, when, I think the first job will be planting out my peas.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and the sun shines down brightly on you all. :gardening:

    Good morning everyone.

Hope everyone who celebrates today has a good one:)

It looks like we are going to have another dry day as i can see the glow from the sun so it looks like it is well on it's way up:yess:

Had a good day yesterday and in the afternoon we went over to the allotment and got our first peas of the year sown and another tidy up now that the weeds are starting to grow.Saw lots of bees and a couple of butterflies including a Brimstone so looks like they are out and about again :yess:

Had our first sighting of a Swallow and house Martin as they flew over the village so now just waiting for the screamers{Swifts} to arrive next month:happydance:Odin is back on the Osprey nest so will be settling down to watch them to hopefully raise a family this year all being well

Hope you all have a great day in all that you do :)

Good morning everyone and happy Mother's Day,

O2, enjoy your well deserved break in Wales :dbgrtmb:

Kandy, It sounds as though you are getting ahead with the allotment.

Yesterday was the first time in very many years that I have had to go out and buy chemicals for the garden. We have a serious infestion of viburnum beetle and three viburnums are very badly affected. According to the RHS viburnum beetle has become the number one pest .

These are variegated viburnums and are about 7ft tall and 6ft diameter and we have the choice of spraying or removing them. It would be too much work to remove them and I won't let the little bug(ger)s defeat me. It's just a week or two too early to spray so I may do it next weekend if the weather is right. Then give it a few weeks before I remove the the brown and eaten leaves and give it another spray. I hope that will eventually get rid of them.

Having read this again, I think I shall put it on the 'pests' section as well. :thumb:

I also bought a fungicide wash as part of our pergola has fungus. It is made of green oak so shouldn't really be affected . I scraped the affected areas with a wallpaper scraper then used a wire brush (I wore a face mask). Mrs shiney kept a beady eye on me as I'm not supposed to go up ladders but I haven't had a problem with vertigo for some time . Then gave it a coating of the wash. The weather was perfect for doing the job :dbgrtmb:.

I hope to give the garden furniture its annual clean and preservative oiling today :). This can be a problem as Oscar can get very nosey and I don't want him getting preservative on himself. I think I shall get the mower out and give the lawn a quick run over as he usually retreats to his bed in the greenhouse in protest of the noise :heehee:.

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning again everyone:)

We have just got back from our usual village walk and i must say it is a lovely day out there and the bees are going mad for the cherry blossom food but they wouldn't keep still long enough for me to get some photos:DOH:

Shiney that insect problem you have sounds quiet nasty and i will have a look at your thread as we have some bushes and wouldn't have a clue what the problem looks like:pI have done some more rotavating Shiney while Mr Kandy sowed our peas but had to give up with my work as i was getting hand cramp after thirty minutes work so weeded some of the raspberries instead then had a nice bonfire :)

Woo,hope you are keeping well and enjoying the beautiful spring sunshine and flowers :)

Hi Louise hope you are ok and enjoying the garden etc:)

O2 Hope you enjoy your holiday over in North Wales{beautiful part of the country}and hope that the weather stays fine for you:dbgrtmb:

Enjoy your day folks, just off to get some more spring flower pickys taken and then hang out some more washing before sorting out the dinner for today:yess:
