Hello everyone, Anyone seen Kandy about ? Hope she is ok not seen her for a day or two. I am still waiting for my kidney ultrasound scan but I have been told there is an 8 week wait just for the appointment date which could be anytime. Things definitely going from bad to worse.

Still its lovely to see the sun. Have a lovely day everyone and Oscar. Must be lovely to sleep in the warm sun through glass as he does.

      Good morning everyone,

I got a lot done in the garden yesterday in the warm sun and the weather is getting better every day. The sun is gradually dispersing the mist and and the gentle, warm light is looking lovely :dbgrtmb:

A busy day today. Mrs shiney is teaching and I have the cooking to do for them.

Oscar enjoys teaching days and sits just outside the door of the summer house all the time they are in there. He'll join them for lunch on the patio and favour each one with sitting next to them and putting his head on their laps :kittykiss:

      Have a great day :D

      Good morning everyone,

Its cool and just stopped raining here, but it looks like its going to start again.

Have to go to the grocery store, and do a couple other things today.

Hi Everyone, still no Kandy, perhaps I missed something somewhere. Hope she is ok. Shiney, Oscar must be in his element on days like this then all that stroking and being told how lovely he is.

I have just done all my mowing and strimming and I am melting. Think I need a cold shower. However, I have all the hoovering to do now so not a lot of point in showering until the hoover is done and the dusting and then I shall probably find something else to do oh yes I can shower then because the next thing is to take my big lad down the road to buy him some new work jeans. He could go himself but its not easy parking an ex BT Ford Transit in these carparks where they are putting slimmer and slimmer parking places and of course I do have my blue disc and I need to get some petrol anyway. They say it is going to get hotter before it gets colder they just want to emphazise the difference.

      Have a good day all.

            Good morning everyone,

The sky is just begining to brighten and the sun is starting to wake up.

I've been up all night because of problems with the blisters on my legs. I'm very susceptible to insect bites and they usually come up in blisters. This year seems worse than usual and I've currently got half a dozen of them about the size of a prune and another half dozen about pea size. The worse ones are around the sides and back of my knees which is very awkward .

I rarely get any bites when travelling in the tropics, jungles and rain forest but always get them when in England  I should be used to it by now after near enough 70 years but it doesn't get any easier and this year is especially bad. :cry3:

I don't let it stop me working in the garden and it helps me if I take the opportunity to have a little moan about it every so often :heehee:. So thanks, folks :D

Time for a nice cuppa :dbgrtmb:

I am also very susceptible to insect bites (my mother would go into anaphylactic shock if stung by a wasp) and I just don't like insects around in general...

Commiseration on your insect bites Shiney, don't mind us dear you keep on grumbling if it helps. I know I like to let off steam now and again. Thanks for the nod about Kandy I suspected as much.

How's our friend Oscar today lapping up the lovely sunshine no doubt.

              Good morning everyone,:)

I have just got back yesterday teatime from a nice week away down in Woolacombe with Mr K and had a great week with lots of walking and the only bad day weatherwise was on Tuesday when it decided to rain all day and never stopped until 10pm :DIt didn't matter though as we wetn to Arlington Court after lunch and had a pleasant afternoon walking round there although we got a bit damp when we did the outside parts:DGot to see the Speakers gold State Coach which is on display in their carraige museum which was very nice to see:)We met up with my sister and her hubby so had a very nice day with them and it was so nice to see them both again:)

Shiney, sorry to hear about your bites.I expect you don't have problems when you go abroad because you probably have innoculations against that sort of thing or do they just cover you from diseases?:)You will be glad of that sun blind when we get the hot weather this week.I shall probably get my parasol opened if we don't get too much wind:D

Moyra, hope all is well with you but sorry to hear about the eight week wait:mad:.I went to see my dentist a few weeks ago for my annual check up and he informed me that he was writing to the hospital as he has found a white patch on my gum and said that i would hear within eight weeks but I got the appointment through after three weeks so hopefully you won't have to wait much longer:thumbsup:

Woo,Penny,Moira and Louise hope you are all ok and not having too much bad weather where you are:)

I hear they are forecasting a heatwave for us by Wednesday so will see what happens and then we have heard from two sources that we are due snow in October so will see if it comes true or that it is a false forecast.:D

As wehave rain this morning I shan't need to water the garden or the allotment veggies but will no doubt nip over there sometime today to see if the Butternut Squashes are ready to harvest as we don't want them buried in the snow when it comes:D

Hope you all have a good day:)

                Good morning everyone,

Welcome home, Kandy :dbgrtmb:. I'm pleased you had a good time on your holiday. :dancy:

moyra, I hope things go OK for you

Oscar has definitely been enjoying the sun because he sleeps outside or in the 'blow away' during the day instead of in his house :). This morning is a bit dull and he has spent the last two hours sitting on the edge of the table outside the lounge staring at me (I've spent every night for the past two weeks sitting up in the armchair in the lounge as I can't lie down in bed because of the blisters). I've tried to read his thoughts and he appears to be saying - where's my breakfast? :heehee: Mrs shiney always gives him his breakfast and she's having a lie-in this morning. He's very patient and just sits and stares :D.

Kandy, you're right, inoculations etc are for diseases but we never have any of them unless it's compulsory (very few places make them compulsory). It only seems to be the British insects that bite me!! It always seems peculiar that I can traipse through tropical rainforest or jungles and not get bitten, then the moment I step off the plane here I get attacked .

Yesterday we had a new male pheasant in the garden so I guess he must have been one of last year's (or the year before) babies as he wasn't bothered about Oscar walking by.

It looks as though it may rain a bit but I'm going to put the sprinkler on anyway - I'll turn it off if it rains. Some of our plants are looking really sorry for themselves. A few of our forsythia bushes have their leaves hanging straight down as though they are dead!!!

Have a great day and keep well. :D

                  Morning Everyone,

Kandy so glad you had a lovely week down in Woolacomb, lovely beach there. Your presence was missed I am just glad it was hols and not indisposed. I hope your white patch turns out to be insignificant. Bit worrying though.

Shiney, is there nothing your doc could do for your blisters and bites they do sound to have turned nasty. Old Oscar knows he wont be forgotten if he is patient and he knows his mum deserves a lay in.

Got my new washing machine being delivered today, hope it is early rather than late might get some sheets and towels washed and dry.

                  Have a good day everyone.

Hi moyra, the blisters themselves are not too much of a problem except when they pop so it is just a matter of being careful but it makes it difficult to lie down because the pressure is on them. The bites get very sore whilst the blisters are forming (3 or 4 days) and all the doctors will give are corticosteroids which I have no intention of taking and they don't like giving them. The only other thing is painkillers which I won't take and it isn't really bad enough to warrant them anyway. So a bit of moaning is my only remedy and Mrs shiney is very good in the sympathy department :heehee:
