      Good morning everyone,

      Another very hot day today!

We should have an interesting time today. We shall be wallowing in ethnicity at lunchtime down Brick Lane and surrounding areas - back on my old home turf :D. I'm looking forward to a good curry :dbgrtmb:.

Then it's off to Buckingham Palace for the afternoon. It's going to be a bit hot inside the Palace as it isn't airconditioned and the temperature has been building up over the last few days.

Then back home in the evening where we have friends coming for dinner - I've already cooked a chicken casserole.

      Have a great day :D

Hi Everyone, What a scorcher it is again. I have just stood in the bath for 10 minutes in ice cold water to cool myself down. I expect I shall do that a few times today. I tried to get Amber to get in with me although it was probably just as well she didn't as I was fully dressed and would have got soaked through. I am regretting now taking the old bungalow bath and filling it with soil and strawberries. My Chloe used to love having that as her bath out in the garden and would go and jump in it whenever she felt too hot. Guess I will have to find another home for the strawberries so we can recommission the bath probably will need a bit of repairing done. But it would be a shame if Amber missed out on having a swim whenever she felt like it. Everyone used to laugh at Chloe rocking up and down in the water in her bath. Bless her.

My sheets in the wash yet again this week, Amber brought in a nice dirty wet stone and played with it all on my white sheets! A little more discipline is called for I think.

      Have a lovely day everyone.

      Morning everyone,

Its another cool day here, but we didnt get any frost, thankfully!!

We went and looked at some English Mastiff's yesturday and filled out some paperwork and are now on the waiting list. The dogs that we want a puppy from wont be bred until the new year though, so it'll be a few months yet.

The dad weighed in at 247lbs and the mommy dog was 195lbs, so our dog would be somewhere in there.

Off to the grocery store today.....never did get there yesturday!

My word Penny, your brave. They are some dog and a half! My Amber is going to turn out bigger than I thought she would. She is all long legs and lanky at the moment. I suppose she will start filling out later. Another 4 weeks and the poor little mite has to be spayed. Necessary evil.

        Good morning everyone,

Moyra, they say you can tell if a dog is going to be a big dog by the size of his paws when they are a pup,so if Amber is large in the paw department then she will be rather large.:DDon't know whether that same rule applies to men though:heehee:

I'm off this morning to have me bloods done so have had to starve since last night and i so could do with some brekkie right now and my visit to the nurse isn't until eight so hope i don't have to wait too long.:D

It was so hot and sticky last night i didn't get much sleep and i think from what thye said the cooler air will be with us by the end of the week :(

        Have a good day everyone:sunny:

        Good morning everyone,

Sunny and warm again today but the temperature should be easing up from tomorrow.

moyra, you'll have to rig up an outside shower and teach Amber how to turn it on :heehee:. When I was in Ko Samui there was a plantation that used elephants and they had a shower area. There was a hosepipe attached to a tap and the elephants had learnt how to turn the tap on. When any of them had finished work they went to shower area, turned on the tap and picked up the hose and sprayed it all over them selves and each other.

        penny, that's biggg!!!! :rolleyespink:

Kandy, Brick Lane didn't have any trouble during the riots. The rioters started to go there but locals got together and kept them out. Not too far awy where there is the Turkish community the locals chased the rioters away with metal bars. Good for them! :dbgrtmb:

Getting across London from the East End to the West End by tube is usually easy but the have the engineering works at the weekends. So it took a lot longer than usual - and it was hot. So, coming back, five of us shared a taxi.

The Palace was as good as usual and there was the special exhibitions of Kate's wedding dress and how it was made, and the Queens Faberge jewellery - lots of it.

When we came home Oscar wanted all the details of going up to see the Queen and he was checking up on whether there were really any mice to chase under a chair. :heehee:

If it's not too hot today I shall do some mowing.

        Have a great day :D

          Good Morning Everyone,

Kandy, don't envy you and doing the fasting bloods. By golly by the time you get them done you will be gasping for a good old cuppa tea. I know I do. Amber was so tiny when we got her and she has a small head compared to my late Chloe that I expected her to stay small her feet aren't particularly big although you know it when she stands on you which she has a habit of doing when you lay in bed! She has very long legs I think it is a stage she is going through. All gangly at the moment. She is 5 months in a couple of days. From what I have heard, but don't take my word for it, I believe the same does apply to men.....:heehee:

Shiney hmm I suspect the elephants compound was geared up for having water splashed around not so my patio. She would wash my strawberries out and also her tray of sand wouldn't take much water we have a lid to put on it should it rain. It's only about 30" x 18" big enough for her to make a mess. I'm glad you had an enjoyable time at the palace and Oscar isn't miffed because he couldn't go - I expect he was too busy anyway being on guard at home.

Well the say it will be rather warm again today but a bit cloudy and then it is going to cool down over the next few days, so it looks as though the Indian Summer is come to an end.

          Have a great day everyone.

          Good morning everyone,

Shiney it is interesting to hear about others coped when those riots went on.I knew through the news about those buisness people that turned out to confront those mobs but never heard about the Turkish community chasing them off:D:thumbsup:

From what was said on the news Queenie didn't like the way Kates dress was displayed and thought it was awful:heehee:I would love to visit Buck Palace but don't think Mr K would as he would find it too boring:DI've been reading about Henry the eigths wives and the fate that befell them and their lovers and it would be interesting to visit The Tower of London sometime:)I like valuing the Faberge items when they come on the Antiques Roadshow and they are usually easy to identify:D

Moyra,I only have to fast for the Cholesterol blood test but as I have the two done together have to forego breakfast.I will ring up tomorrow and see what the results are and just hoping I am still on track but as my meds have been dropped by half think that the resitance is taking over again.:mad:One of my other sisters has now got the diesease and is on meds and is losing weight so hopefully it should help her get things under control:)

I think we had the tail end of another hurricane yesterday afternoon and evening as it was very blowy but is still managed to get loads done which i was pleased about:D

Hope you all have a good day:)

          Morning Everyone,

Kandy when I go for my bloods they usually take 3 lots for various things but you seem to get your results back quickly it is usually at least 10 days here.

Certainly a lot cooler this morning but bright enough. Expecting high winds but not arrived yet thankfully.

          Have a good day all.
