Hi Everyone, Kandy I shall ask about what they intend to do about my kidney stone when I go to the renal clinic next week. I do hope Mr. K's back is on the mend. I keep meaning to do some of the exercises that the hospital physio taught me but if it is the stone then that will not help. I would imagine male or female passing a stone is pretty horrible as the uretha in each is much the same dimensions I should think.

Last bit of wallpaper and paint clearing today for Steve but in the meantime have taken down all my curtains and putting them through the wash. Both bedrooms as well as the lounge. Last of the heavy curtains in now and then I shall do the nets. Wonderful weather the first lot are nearly dry already. Dreading doing the ironing of them all as I never usually iron anything but with these I have no choice!

Have a good day all and please go easy on those backs of yours. :)

    Good afternoon everyone,

It's been a busy day today. First I went to the dentist for my regular hygienist appointment. Then off for a haircut and a chat :). After that I went to one of my ex-staff to sort some things out for them and then on to Barry. He's getting on OK and I filled in six forms for him and have brought a seventh home to sort out tomorrow (DVLA and his mobility scooter). Then it was off to another ex-staff member to sort out their mortgage. From there it was the library and shopping and have just got home and had my 'lunch'.

When I got home there were seven telephone messages for me which I will listen to when I've finished my cuppa. Then I'll open my snail mail and look at my 22 emails!!!

    Have a good day

    Good morning everyone.

Moyra,I bet you will be pleased when all the decorating is finished and it is good that we have had some really good weather this week so that you were able to get your curtains washed.:dbgrtmb: I dare not wash my curtains as I fear they would shirink and then they would look silly against the windows so for now I have never bothered and i expect it would cost a fortune to have them proffesionaly cleaned:snork:

Hope all goes well at the Renal appointment next week and that the outcome is good for you:blue thumb:

Shiney, sounds like you have been busy as well.:dbgrtmb: I am trying to keep on top of things while Mr Kandy is having mobility problems.Perhaps I ought to get him a zimmer frame to use although we have managed two walks yesterday albeit a bit slow:snork:

Penny hope your eye is healing up nicely and can you send some of your rain to us as we badly need it over here:snork:

We have thick fog here this morning but they say it is going to be anpother beautiful day so looking forward to getting some warmth in the house as our central heating pump has packed up so have no heating and no hot water so it looks like I shall have to have the imersion heater on if I want a shower:snork:

Hope everyone has a nice warm day:smile:

      Good morning Kandy and everyone,

Kandy, I thought you'd already had this month's shower :heehee:. I hope Mr K's back gets better soon and your pump gets sorted.

Another day with brilliant sunshine so it's more hosing later.

Keep well and have a great day

Hi Everyone, Curtains all done. Kandy they did shrink and I had to let down the hems but the linings are in rags anyway so I am going to have to buy new curtains. Afterall 23 years is a bit much to expect curtains to last longer.

My sweet pea seeds and garden pea seeds are through so today I have sown my runner beans. Tomatos and cucumber plants are growing great guns and the tobacco seedlings are also doing well. Arhh nothing quite like the growing season! I love it.

Have a great day everyone. Sorry I am late posting.:)

I'm having a very short sit down before starting on the cooking. We have people turning up at 6 p.m. and then two of us have to leave for bridge at 7.15. I'm going to make a chicken casserole

I've done four hours of pressure hosing today. One hour working and one hour resting etc. I'm a bit achy but seem to be OK at the moment and have taken an arnica tablet.

      Have a good evening

Morning Everyone, Another glorious day ahead.

Shiney, hope your bridge went well. You like your chicken caserole - have you tried the new Curry chicken oxo cubes they are great to add to a chicken caserole. I also like the herb Bolognaise cubes too. Great flavours.

I wave to Kandy, Loli, Penny and Woo, who I hope is recovering nicely from his operation. I believe he said he had an operation to undergo.

      Have a lovely day everyone.:)

      Good morning Moyra and All....
I think your curtains have done well Moyra....When i got the cutains for the living room...about 12 years ago..we splashed out and got really good quality ones...it cost a fortune as there are 4 pairs in that room..but i've noticed how much they have faded and are starting to look a bit sorry for themselves...i dread to think how much new ones will be now....
Mr Lolimac bought me a scroll saw yesterday so can't wait to get playing with it:dancy:but my seeds come first as there are still a few more to be sown and pricked out:rolleyespink:...
This weather has been glorious, very foggy this morning though but then again thats how the last 2days started....the chooks love sunbathing and get laid flat out but the trouble is they don't get much peace because Theo has a habit of gently tapping them with his paw and disturbing them....this started last year when one of the chooks died and Theo found her...i think he was trying to 'wake' her up...so i think he's got into the habit of checking them:)
I've got the weekend off:yahoo:so i'll be going down the list of jobs i want to do in the garden....the only thing is when i cross one thing off more keep getting added....
I wish everyone well and have a lovely day:SUNsmile:

Good morning Moyra, Loli and everyone,

It's another wonderful day and the sun has burnt off the mist .

I've been out there cleaning out the gutters this morning (taking a rest from pressure hosing :)) and will start on renewing the finish on the lawn edges. That's another multi-hour job with about 1,200ft to do.

I don't think woo has had his op yet (don't really know) but I thought he said it would be in about four weeks and that doesn't seem to be that long ago. I could be completely wrong as I'm not very good on time nowadays .

The casserole was very good (pat myself on the back :heehee:). I don't usually use flavoured cubes as I make my own mixes - curry powders, herbs mixes etc.

This afternoon we shall be going to Grove Cottage (the charity we support with our Open Day) to help design their garden. We're not sure what they really need but it has to be of interest to the handicapped children and easy to look after. We shall discuss it with the people there. They want us to organise a mentor for the garden (we're to busy to do it) but we need to see what they're after before we can come to any conclusions.

I hope all of you are feeling better. :dbgrtmb:

Dont forget to put your clocks forward tonight.

      Have a great day

Loli, I love the story about Theo and the chooks. :)

      What's a scroll saw?

Mrs Shiney made our curtains for our lounge 40 years ago (couldn't afford to buy any). They still look as good as new :dbgrtmb:

      Morning Shiney....
A scroll saw has a very fine blade... used to cut intricate patterns in wood...you can do fret work with it:dbgrtmb:
I'll try and get some pics of Theo wakeing the chooks up....it's a treat watching them together:wub2:

Oh thanks WOO for letting us know. I do hope you are coping ok and that your wait wont be much longer.:blue thumb: I have my Renal Clinic next Wednesday. I am wondering if they will do anything about my kidney stone. I have had chronic pains in my lower abdomen but not sure think that is more to do with IBS than the stone.

Shiney that is doing well with the curtains. I have ordered new ones this morning. The curtains I am replacing are the landladies. It is the lining that has gone on them where the sun has faded and worn them so thin they are in strips. The actual material of the curtains themselves is still very good. I shall keep them and give them back to the landlady she may be able to do something with them for one of her other homes that she lets out if she replaces the linings. She made them herself all those years ago. The new ones are jacquard in a jade green shade hope they are going to go with the door paint that is jade. They are lined and fully washable, for three pairs, three pelmets and tie backs which are free they come to £250 which I thought was very reasonable. We shall see when they come if not up to my standard then back they will go!

I think I might go and put all my hard roots out round the garden now they are growing well.

Have a glorious day all. :)
