    Good morning everyone,

Hope you all had a good weekend although it is sad to hear about your chook Florence passing away Loli, but i know you will have given her plenty of love and care while she was with you.RIP little bird:smile:

Good job we went for a nice five mile walk on Saturday afternoon as it rained and sleeted all day and was bitterly cold as well.

Like you Shiney we went and visited some garden centres{3}but unlike your one ours had lots of customers because the wrinklies were all out having their Sunday lunches and then there were families looking at gifts to buy for Mothering Sunday

Moyra,I prefere the sunshine any day and hate it constantly raining especially as we might get a hosepipe ban in the summer if we don't get a lot more.

Woo,how is the greenhouse coming along. Is it up yet or are you still working on the base laying?

Sounds like you have been busy as well Jazmine:biggrin:

    Have a good day everyone:smile:

      Good morning everyone,

Sorry to hear the news about Florence :cry3:

The sun is trying to come out now and the strong wind seems to have dried things up. I think it may be too windy for me to carry on with the pots but I won't know until I try.

Kandy, you posted whilst I went to get a cuppa :heehee:. Our place was empty because they don't sell plants (only a very few) but they did have some aquilegias for sale that we liked - lime green.

      Have a great day

        Hi Shiney,

Sorry I read your post wrong and thought you had written Garden Centre but reading back you had written Garden,:oopss: I shall be glad when i have my eyes tested next week and so will gets ome new glasses, although i have had to make the print bigger on my computer as the size was pretty dire when i logged in:snork:

The GC's were selling pink Muscari, for £6.99 a pot of four bulbs or if you were lucky you got five in a pot.We never bought any because if they spread like the blue ones do we will be cursing them in a few years. The green aquilegias sound quiet nice:smile: I have in flower at the presant time a green Ammaryllis and the green flowers look really good.I have two tall spikes and there is a third trying to grow but I don't htink it will come to much and there is also a baby bulb coming up as well so all in all a good plant:snork:

Loli sorry to hear about Florence. Upsetting to lose a loyal egg laying chook but I guess they do have a limited life span.

I bought 40 dry root plants recently, came with the advice to protect them initially so I potted each type up into 10 pots of the 4 plants and put them in my cold greenhouse they are now growing quite large but I am afraid to put them out yet in case we have more hard snow and ice. There is quite an assortment in there of Lupin, delphininiums, aquilegia, red hot poker, holly hock, echinacia, etc.......so will have to find room for putting out into the garden once the threat of bad weather is through. Quite looking forward to getting an old fashioned garden again.

Shiney if you are going to do more pots today wrap up warm that wind is bitingly cold I was perished by the time I came back with Amber first thing this morning.

Just put my tomato, cucumber and tobacco seeds back out into the greenhouse for the day, lets hope they will be warm enough but at least they will get the light.

Have a lovely day all. :)

I'm just going out to post a package to Graham the Gardener, who sent me a big box of goodies, and then I'll have a go at the pots. I'm wearing all my thermals

        Good morning everyone,

Its a cold day here, and just a dusting of snow.

Well i had a hell of a start to the day....i took Brad to work and when i got home, i turned to close the front door, and our hall closet is off the tracks since we are getting ready to paint, and i guess the winter shoes and boots pushed up against the closet door, and it caught me in the face....so i had Natalie drive me to the hospital, and Kait came, and i ended up with 8 stitches....its beside my left eye........so like i said, a hell of a start!!

Was supposed to drive down to Toronto, but not now....my freezing is starting to come out, so i wont be driving anywhere!!

Oh my word, Penny, what with Kandy now you are you having a competition? I should imagine that is pretty painful. You will have to take it easy for a while.

My son is busy pushing on with decorating my lounge/diner now he has finished the kitchen. I am well pleased.

Have a great evening all. :)
