Yawn Yawn, Wakey Wakey...!!!! MK7...

Good morning all my friend's hope that when you awake you feel on top of the world on this another new day,Moyra I missed the mouse yesterday but I am determined to get the little fellow to day have a lovely day and please stay safe

 

Aloha everyone,

We had a very good 300 mile drive back from the Lake District yesterday. Following a leisurely breakfast we departed at 10.15 just as it started to rain but after 30 minutes it stopped and we had a dry drive all the rest of the way. There was very little traffic and after stopping for our picnic lunch we arrived home dead on the dot of 3 p.m.

It was sunny and warm and the garden looked good - and I didn't need to mow the lawns . After getting the car unpacked and washing on Mrs Shiney watered the greenhouse, pots etc and I fed the birds and picked loads of beans. Before we went on holiday I stripped off all the beans except the real babies and wasn't sure whther there would be any more when we came back - but I got 12lb and very nice beans. I don't think there will be many more as there seemed to be very few flowers.

After a welcome cuppa (whilst I went through all my mail) I then made a chicken soup and we had some roast chicken with loads of runners.

I'm back in busy, busy mode again and have three meetings today. The first one is 10 a.m. at my place and it shouldn't take long but the others will (last one at 8 p.m.).

The sun is now calling me to get out in the garden and have a good look round. Reminder to self - order more bird food.

Still catching up on things after my hols. Apparently we had no rain at all whilst I was away so I've just put the sprinkler on the beans. As there was no rain I don't need to cut the grass.

On this lovely sunny day I've woken up with a stinking headache . Got too much to do to take it easy!

I'll cheer myself up a bit by thinking of yesterday evening. Mrs Shiney went out about 7.30 and I was in the kitchen cooking. Around 8.00 I felt a cold draft and the kitchen door had opened a bit. I looked down and there was Sarafi's head peeking around the edge of the door . Mrs Shiney had left the front door open (it was wide open ) and Sarafi had come in to investigate. He knows he's not allowed in - but he's a cat, and can go anywhere he wants! A bit of stroking and scratching and then I told him to go out and he strolled back to the front door and went out

Mrs Shiney is out in the garden at the moment as some people have come round to get some foliage for a charity event where they are doing all the flower arrangements. We get a lot of people that come for foliage - including the village florist, who lets us have bouquets free if we want them (which isn't very often).

I've got some things to do at the village hall, sort out a new Blue Badge for Barry, an important meeting at lunchtime and two events that I'm sorting out . fortunately my head is easing up

I've a few phone calls to make now and then I'll sit and have breakfast before the rushing about.
