    Good morning everyone:smile:

    Sorry to hear you are not well Woo and hope you feel better soon along with Shiney:wub2: From what i have been hearing there are loads of bugs going round {especially in our village}so it seems to be the season of ailments with the milder weather:eeew:

    There was a chap on our local radio station the other day who has kept daily weather details since 1970 and he reckons we are going to have a cold winter because the seas round blighty are already cold due to the fact we have had a cold wet summer so we shall see what happens.Wouldn't mind plenty of the white stuff on December 25th though :yay:

    Enjoy your day everyone:smile:

      Aloha everyone,

      Thanks for the good wishes :blue thumb:

      Loli, why are you going back to work? You're supposed to be taking it easy in order to let your ribs heal :doh:. Take care :)

      Re Badger(s) :- deterrent is in operation and working - so far. :dbgrtmb: I've sprayed all the boundaries of our place with a very dilute solution of Jeyes Fluid. I'm very reliably informed that badgers don't like the smell. Apparently they also don't like it if humans 'mark' their own territory but I don't think I could drink enough water! :heehee:

      Got another couple of meetings today (don't know where they're all coming from) and lots of phone calls to make. I got my phone bill yesterday (BT). I pay £129 in advance for the year's rental and £4.90 per month. This gives me free phone calls - and I made 981 free calls in the quarter :hate-shocked:. I have to pay for any calls to mobiles, so don't call any! Works out good for me (and Mrs Shiney). Although Mrs S has her own phone line, on a different plan, she uses mine to make her calls on as they are free.

      If it stays dry today (forecast is rain) I want to mow the main lawns as Mrs S has students all weekend. Note to self:- get shopping for food.

      Keep well and have a great day :biggrin:

      Aloha!

        Hello everyone,:blue thumb: been off to the local market to get some grapefruit, for yes, you guessed it marmalade.:stirpot: Onions for pickling.:wow: Just sat down to a Salami and cheese sandwich, then will have forty winks, then start again later on. Hubby dug up potatoes, and I pulled up the last of my carrots.

        I hope the weather holds out for me this weekend, as I think I will be doing a boot sale.

        Still, hope everyone is well. Take care. :doggieshmooze:

        seriously - although we are not big jam eaters - if one wants to try your jam is the only way to come to your bootsales?

        Aloha everyone,

        It would appear I am being rather tardy as I thought I had posted this morning then I realized why I had not. I was out and up to Basildon Hospital and then home again by just after 10.05 after dracula had taken their fill of my blood. Thats for the renal clinic as I have another appointment next month having missed the July appointment they forgot to inform me about. I am still waiting for my eye appointment too but I expect if I don't chase it up soon I shall be told that I have missed it.......I have certain pyschic abilities but they do not stretch to visualizing my hospital dates unless they are confirmed to me.

        Well WOO, loli and Shiney I do hope my friends that you are on the mend. I am ok except for my legs, knees and back and feet today. But it is to be expected with the dampness around. I have just come back from walking Amber again and the legs of my trousers were soaking so I had to change yet again. More in the wash!

        I hope Kandy you are ok my dear. I think you are right re the hard winter, certainly there is a heavy amount of berry around.

        Take care everyone, waves to Penny, Kaz and Lili et al. God bless and keep you all safe.

        Aloha!:wub2::doggiesmz::cat-kittyandsmiley:Kiss you all better.

        Moyra i think you are Amazing walking Amber like you do,it certainly can't be easy:love30:
        Theo has just dragged me around the vets....he's not a very obedient boy not like his brother....i blame the parents:biggrin:...the vet spent most of the consultation singing to Theo....tiddley om pom pom :rolleyespink: it's the only way Theo will let him check him over....he's on another 3wks worth of steriods for his skin .....
        Shiney...i really shouldn't be back at work but thankfully i'm not too bad....if i could have got in to see my own doctor i would have asked for another week off but i couldn't and there was noway i was going to beg for another sick note from the last doc i saw as she was horrible and seem very convinced there wasn't anything wrong with me...even though i was trying to be brave and not hit the roof when she touched my ribs:mad:...it's my own fault i'm just not forcefull enough:doh:....i had my 'back to work' interview...apparently we have these now when we've been off sick....my manager informed me that i was 'safe':huh: as i hadn't been off sick in the last 6months....i 'politely' told her....that if she cared to look at my records she'd find that she could count on one hand how many times i'd been off in the last 30+ years :gaah:....she informed me that more than 3 separate occasions of being off ill warrants a dissaplinary(sp)....what a load of garbage....i know nothing of the employment laws...but that surely can't be right....i don't get paid when off sick and since the private firm took over my wages was halved and i'm now getting just the minimum wage....it infuriates me because they know there is nothing you can do...you can't stop careing just because your hourly rate is halved......

        1...2...3... and breathe....sorry for the rant.....but it's a bitter pill to swallow...those elderly folk should be treat like royalty ....especially the amount of money they pay.....and i'm fed up with this careing caper being turned into some massive buissness....must add, i work for a not for profit organization.....right ho.....

        Annny way......hope everyone is fine and dandy...have a relaxing evening:SUNsmile:

          Aloha everyone!

          Oh Loli I do feel for you and the situation you are in at work. As you say you treat the patients or care recipients as you would wish to be cared for yourself. But do the bosses care ...........not a jot. You mind what you do with those ribs. Do let them heal properly.

          I find it hard walking Amber until I get near the green and if there are no other dogs around I can let her run off the lead and she tears around the green chasing all the smells but I have to keep an eye out for any other dogs that she doesn't get on with and also as to where she drops her load so I can retrieve it to the bin. But it is easier if I let her off the lead and say to her heel and wait. Just repeating wait or heal and she will stay close to hand so not pulling on me. I consider myself lucky if we do not meet any other dogs she doesn't get on with because then she can get a run in. Tonight she met her friend Alfie unfortunately they are both stick crazy so it is a case of who gets the stick first!

          I hope Theo is coming along ok, bet he loved the tiddly om pom pom from the vet. lol. Oh well mind how you go and have a good evening.

          Aloha!:wub2::doggiesmz::chicken:
