      Aloha woo and everyone,

Another beautiful sunrise you've got there, woo :dbgrtmb:

The sun is up and it's going to be a hotty, today! Yesterday afternoon it just seemed to get hotter and hotter. We gave up working in the garden and even our new gardener did, as well. She seems to be quite good and worked fairly hard, so we've booked her to come back in three weeks time.

Mrs Shiney and I are covered in bites  and they're very uncomfortable. Mine always end up in blisters so I'm not happy .

Beans are slowing down and I only picked just over 7lb yesterday. We getting to the time of year when I start selling apples and pears but the crop is very poor this year.

I hope that all of you are keeping well and your problems are getting less :) and that all your furries are jumping with joy :dancy:

      Have a great day

      Aloha!

      Aloha Everyone,

Looks like you found a new gardener to suit then Shiney, that is good.
Lovely sunrise WOO it is really quite hot out there now. I was glad of the AC in the car coming home from hospital. I had to wait about 20minutes to get a parking space and then just over an hour to get my x-ray done. Still hopefully that should be through in 10 working days. I expect it will be more of the same osteoarthritis and not a lot they can do so I shall have to put up with the tingling and pins and needles in my arm and hands and fingers. Really tired now so am going to put my head down for an hour.

Have a lovely day everyone and take care of yourselves.

      Aloha!:wub2:

      Good late afternoon everyone,
I hope you feel more rested now Moyra:dbgrtmb:
Oh Woo...what a beautifull sunrise....if only i'd seen it before i went to work...that would have definatley put an extra spring in my step....beautifull....Oooo i'm going all peculiar again:heehee:
So your new gardener is doing ok then Shiney:dbgrtmb: bet it's a treat for them to work in such a lovely garden....now that would have been a good job for me;)
Sorry about yours and Mrs Shineys bites .....they are so irritating i've got 2 holes in my leg and that's no exageration:gaah: Have you tried the Walnut leaf theory....i'd love to know if it works....
It's sooo hot here :phew: ,the 'girls' have dug themselves in under the conifers and the 'boys' are laid in the bedroom where it's cooler....i did the water 'run' for chooks and wild birds first thing and have done it again not long since....
Think it's going to have to be a take away for tea ,i can't bear the thoughts of cooking in this heat....but i made some raspberry ice-cream yesterday so i think i'll be able to manage dishing that up:biggrin:
Wishing the Kandys,Penny's and our Kaz well:dbgrtmb:
      Have a lovely evening everyone:SUNsmile:

        Morning everyone,

Its a hot, muggy day here, and looks like rain, which we do need, so i dont mind.

It was an incredibly busy weekend here, we moved Kait down to University on Saturday, left at 7am and got back just after 6pm....looooong day!!

Sunday was a visiting day, we had friends over for supper, and had lunch with others......yesturday, didnt do a darn thing, i was so tired!!

The wedding is now less then 2 weeks away (holy cow).....everything is kind of in a holding pattern right now, although i just ordered a pig for the dinner(worried about feeding 200 people), and booked the chef to serve and slice it.

Natalie asked Brad to make her a cedar arbor, which he is doing this weekend, and she'll keep it and put it in her garden at her new house.

I also ordered a couple Porta-potties to have on site too, these things look like a regular toilet, not the old fashioned ones, comes with running hot water, lights and are extra wide for the girls dresses.

I'm off to do a couple errands.........so have a great day all.

          Good morning everyone,

Lovely sunset Woo:blue thumb: We have had some fantastic cloud formations these last few days especially the red mackeral sky last evening.I have taken lots of piccys which will be nice to look back on:snork:

Been very busy these last few days what with one thing and another, but am pleased to say now getting on top of it all:biggrin:

Got stung by a honey bee i was trying to help on Sunday:yikes: and then later on when out walking with Mr Kandy found the caterpillar of an Elelphant Hawk Moth:cool: walking across the path so after taking lots of piccys put him in some last grass so he wouldn't get trodden on:snork:

Our weather at the moment has been sunny but cooler and there is a distinct nip in the air but i am assured that it is going to get hotter at the weekend:hapydancsmil:

Will try and pop back later on in the week so hope you all have a good day:smile:

          Aloha everyone,

I was half way through typing my post when the computer froze :wallbanging: and I had to force it to shut down - but it's OK now

Thanks for the sunset, woo :dbgrtmb:

Kandy, sorry to hear that you got stung by a bee and hope it's OK now. It's unusual for honey bees to sting

Loli, I hope your boys and girls are coping OK with the heat and that your ice cream cooled you down. I don't have a problem with cooking during hot weather (although I really don't like the heat) because, as I do loads of cooking, I have airconditioning in the kitchen. We do a lot of entertaining and I also have to cook for Mrs Shiney's students. My cooker is pretty large so generates a lot of heat.

It works hard for me so I make sure I keep it in good condition . It's about 10 years old.

Penny, it seems as though you have everything well organised. :dbgrtmb:

A couple of days ago, when I was pressure hosing the patio, there seemed to be a lot more wasps around than usual. They're always around when I'm pressure hosing as they love to drink the water. If it's windy I wear a jacket which gets covered in drops of water and they sit on the jacket and drink. If it's not windy they drink the water from the paving at the edges of where the spray goes. On Monday there were so many of them that I had to find out why.

Apparently they have made a nest under the paving by getting in through a hole in the edge of the paving. As I started getting nearer the nest with the hosing they got rather angry so I retreated, pretty smartly, and gave up. I had a chat with a friend who used to work for Rentokil 40 years ago and he gave me some wasp powder he still had in his garage. So last night (should only use it very late in the evening when they are tucked up in bed) I wrapped up well, trousers tucked in socks etc, puffed some powder in and around the hole, and ran like mad. No sign of any activity this morning.

We've not had any nice cloud formations for quite some time. No clouds at all so it has been very hot during the day and coldish at night. We're having to use the sprinkler a lot as all the plants are very droopy.

Keep well and have a great day

          Aloha!

              Aloha Everyone,

Thank you WOO for the lovely sunset. I do love sunsets particularly when they are over water.

Shiney glad you were able to get rid of that wasps nest. Wasps can be rathy nasty when they are upset.

Shame about the honey bee Kandy and to think you were only trying to help it. Always the way!

Waves to Kaz, Loli and Penny. Take care everyone and have a good day.

              Aloha!:wub2:

                Hi all,

Popping back in.....errands are done, just have one more for Brad later today.

I've been looking online for ideas on covering hay bales, thats what Natalie and Dan are using for seating during the ceremony....i saw a picture and LOVED the idea...so now i am hunting fabric, or neutral bed sheets that i can cut to fit (cut the fitted sheet) and tie with ribbon.....shpuld be able to do 2 bales with one sheet, possibly 3 if its a king sheet.

Some sites have suggested going to a thrift store and buying all the bed sheets and even dying them to your color, so thats an option too.....might head to the fabric store later this week and have a look, just cut the fabric to fit the bales and overhang slightly.....i have 100 bales to do this for.

I'm off to make some lunch....so enjoy the rest of your day everyone.
