    Afternoon everyone,

Just taking a break from cleaning my conservatory. God, I did not know it had got so grubby, lots of little bugs hiding in the crevices.

Trying to get it all scrubbed up, so that it is ready when I start my winter seeds, not that long to go really, shut up, Liliana, soon I will be saying only 4 months to the C word.....

Got my appointment today, going to Reading hospital next Wednesday for a Colonoscopy, been sent a 2 litre pack to make up to drink on the day before, yummy.

Hoping to get a lot done on the weekend, I have a back to back boot sale, Sunday and Monday, so I have been busy making new chutney for the season. Apple and Mustard, Apple and Smoked Paprika. Mostly apple recipes at the moment, my tree is dropping bombs on the lawn, I have never seen such big apples from this tree before.

I hope the pears grow a bit more, they are a bit smaller this year, but the crop must be over 600 fruit. The branches are groaning under the weight.

Hope everyone is having a lovely afternoon in the sunshine, it is glorious here, Fred, my dog is having a siesta on the lawn.

    Kisses to everyone xx:doggieshmooze:

      Aloha everyone,
It is ok if I do it on notepad first and then amend afterwards. it is only this site none of my other sites do it. I think Richard must have given up trying to resolve everyones problems, cannot say I blame him.

Loli, Glad you have a nice day there it is very dark miserable and tipping it down here. Still the garden needs it.

WOO, Good morning to you and your bonus day!

Lili, Sorry you are having problems healthwise, I wish you better soon.
Have a good day everyone, God bless.

      Aloha!:wub2:

      Good morning everyone

:grphg: to everyone feeling under the weather at the moment and hope that you feel better soon:smile:

Congratulations to Mrs Shiney on the awards:wow:

Woo,hope you are having a good day and looking after Mrs Woo.How is she doing now?

Shiney hope your leg problems are getting sorted and yes we also know what it is like when you have loads to do in the garden and are feeling creaky and we don't have as much as you to look after:grphg:

Loli,we have rain this morning which must have started in the night so at least I don't have to go out watering today and my waterbutt is getting filled up again.I have some plants that are desperate to go in the ground but the soil is so hard I can't even get the fork into to it.:yikes:

Moyra,I couldn't get my laptop tyo work properly yesterday but it is fine today and don't seem to be having the same problems as you though:wallbanging:Glad that your results were ok.Mr Kandy is on Statins and I am trying my best not to have to go on them as I have heard a lot of stories about the side effects from people we meet out and about so there must be something in it:th scifD36:

Anway, have just finished my next lot of irioning so hopefully will get it aired when we have the supposed heatwave tomorrow:wow::yes::roflol:

      Enjoy your day everyone:spinning:

PS,Shiney are you growing Butternut Squashes nthis year and if so how are they doing? We have four plants and all the flowers are dropping off so no sign of any squashes at all so we think it will be a waste of time this year.Just starting to pick the firs Victoria plums though...

      Aloha everyone,

After lots of rain during the night there's a bit of brightness coming through. :blue thumb:

I lifted all of the onions and some of the garlic yesterday and the bugs had a nice feast on my legs :hate-shocked:. I'll go out and pick more beans shortly as I have some orders for them - someone wants 10lb for making runner bean pickle.

Just had to quickly dash into the kitchen as the timer on the cooker was buzzing. We're roasting some butternut squash (chopped into half inch cubes) with red onions and garlic. This will be mixed into a Puy Lentil salad. Puy lentils cooked with a little bit of stock and a bay leaf, mixed with a touch of herbs, lemon juice and freshly roasted and ground cummin.

When that's done I shall be cooking a chicken casserole (enough for three days) for some friends who have been in the wars recently. He's recovering from a replacement hip and she has just come home from spending time in hospital having broken her ankle. Meals on Wheels Are Us :heehee:

Our boiler broke down yesterday and the fitter (a friend) came to look at it. The circuit board has packed up and he said that the fan and some sort of control unit are on their last legs. He's coming back today to fit new parts (cheaper than him coming back in a few months when the other bits pack up and I'm not keen on recinditioned parts) and it will cost about £500 :yikes:. That's with the parts being at cost as I shall be paying the supplier direct.

Buzz, buzz - bye bye :snork:

Keep well and have a great day

      Aloha!

      Kandy,
I get a message that says something with the website you are on has caused the internet to stop. Trouble is once that message appears you cannot save what you have already typed and you have to start again. Never mind I can manage on this note pad and the tidy up after I have copied and pasted it.
Kandy, quite pleased to have my meformin down from 3 to 2 as well so that is good. lisinipril though has been increased which makes me question the wisdom of stopping the diuretics. Still we see how we go!

Moyra,I found the Metformin very good as an appetite suppresant{sp}and lost loads of weight with it and so the nurse dropped me down from 2 tabs down to 1 tab as my levels went down to 5.6% then I asked if I could try diet only and have been that way since Jan 1st although I have put some weight back due to that broken toe and lack of exercise although the % has gone up slightly she is still happy to let me carry on as I am.:yes:As I have pcos it is difficult for me to lose weight naturally as it messes up the Insulin resistance and the over 50's ladies problems don't help either:snork:

Did you find you lost any weight with being on the 3 Metformin Tabs?I don't know what Lisinipril is used for so don't know if it is a good or bad drug to take.

just crashed again back to the note pad.

Kandy Lisinopril is for high blood pressure but it can also cause water retention so that is why I am surprised he has raised the quantity of lisinopril but doing away with the diuretics. I also did not think I had a problem with my blood pressure (hypertension) at the moment.?!

Good afternoon my friends,Kandy Mrs Woo is doing fine ,the Hospital consultant said to me what is she doing on the blood pressure tablets (I told her in a polite and courteous manner that I wasn't the one who prescribed them) ;) as after monitoring her for 24 hours as it was normal,so she has stopped them,I asked her if that was the cause of her faint and she edged round the answer, but I then asked if the tablets were there to lower her blood pressure and she didn't need them,it would then cause her normal blood pressure to fall below normal and hence the fainting episode, and her answer was it could have(she's been taking them for five years) :)

We will have to get a health thread:heehee:

WOO, you are so right! I think we should start a health thread with obviously a warning that none of us are medically qualified but are qualified by virtue of the experiences we have undergone with certain drugs and then we can put down what we have found with certain drugs and for what they were prescribed etc. That is a brilliant idea because quite frankly I am feeling more like a guinea pig every day!

Would be nice to have a health thread. As far as I am concerned since I am nearly fifty i think I better start getting some advise from the more experienced...
I am not that lean in terms of body fat but not complaining either. But I also have a word of advice: it is ever so important to eat the strict necessary and not be blinded by the greed and comfortable life. Many medicines are just making up for a missing sense of responsability towards ourselves in terms of proper diet and exercise. Exercise meaning everything that keeps the blood flowing.
