      Aloha everyone,

Girls, get the oily rags ready :) . I've had a very bad night with the cough but am feeling a little bit better this morning. I've got to take Mrs Shiney 16 miles to the train as our local line has engineering works  . Then I'll have to go and pick her up again this evening. I'm just checking that they haven't cancelled the other trains.

Keep warm and have a great day

          Aloha everyone,

Shiney, sorry to hear you had a bad night, well there are three of us now prepared with our oily rags so I should think you will be begging for mercy!

WOO Zigs nearly ran over an owl last night was dead scared it might be you, do take care out there in this weather.

Loli, well that is the idea to keep Foxy satisfied. That leg of chicken disappeared last night so mine should be well satisfied. I topped up the bowl of Ambers food for her this morning so hopefully she is being looked after till her babes are born. Then she will want even more I guess.

Lili, sorry that has affected Peter's ear that often can happen. Hope he is on the mend soon.

Take care everyone and stay safe and warm and well in this terrible weather.

          Aloha!:wub2:

I've done my 32 mile round trip and the driving was easy. Roads OK, little traffic. So I stopped off and did a load of shopping. :dbgrtmb:

            It's trying to snow again.

                        Aloha everyone,

Mrs Shiney phoned me at 5.35 p.m. to say she would arrive at the station at 6 p.m. The normal length of time to do the 16 miles is about 20 minutes.

I have a choice of three ways to go. The shortest route which would avoid villages and town (our normal route) but means going through a mile long narrow winding road that is still partially flooded. The second shortest route is through the nearest town but the shoppers will be going home. So I picked the longest route (only a couple of extra miles) through the next village.

Bad choice  . I got to the far end of the next village and the road was closed with police cars blocking it (couldn't see what type of accident it was). So I had to turn round and go back to square one. With that village blocked off the road through the town would be even busier so I went through the flooded road - with no problem.

By the time I got there Mrs Shiney had been standing out in the cold for 15 minutes  - but I had the car hot enough for a sauna and her heated seat switched on  .

My chest gradually improved during the day (the threat of those oily rags :heehee: ) but my throat got a lot worse. Couldn't eat and couldn't talk. Mrs S made up some concoction for me and by midnight the throat had eased a lot. This morning the throat is still getting better and, after spending about 30 mins clearing my chest, I'm feeling a lot better.

I've lost half a stone this week from not being able to eat much, so some good has come of it. :) I got a couple of friends to take our place in the charity quiz last night - hope they did well. I'll stay snug indoors today and tomorrow and should be OK for going out tomorrow night to play a match.

Take care and be careful when being taken for your walks :heehee:. Have a great day

                        Aloha!

I hope you are all managing with this snow,i noticed more is on the way but looks like East Yorkshire will miss this next load....
I'm going to clear some paths for the chooks as they don't like the snow and they were all trying to fly around the garden to get to the parts where it wasn't so deep...they looked like little bouncing bombs......there's one thing the wild birds and squirrels can't be going hungry we're all making sure of that:dbgrtmb:

                            Aloha everyone,

Shiney, hope you are finally getting the better of that cold. Yes Loli we are certainly looking after our wild life.

Steve's been out and turned a bit of garden over so the blackbirds and robins can get at the worms. I have topped up the fox's bowl of Baker's meaty meals. The birds have got their seed, coconut halfs of fat/seed, peanuts and apples too.

I put in an order to Tesco's a couple of days ago for delivery on Monday but I have a horrible feeling that it is not going to turn up. May have to walk to the local shop for milk, we are nearly out of it. So Steve may have to go up today.

Take care everyone, stay safe, well and warm.

                            Aloha!:wub2:
