    Morning everyone,

Its cool and drizzley here, not a nice day at all, i was planning on working outside, but not when its like this, so hopefully tomorrow. Plus i have some peppers and tomatoes that need to be picked!!

We did some shopping yesterday, and Natalie came with us, got a few more things for the baby, and stocked her up on diapers....500 should do for now (lol)!! She's feeling pretty good, just tired all the time.

The guys will be working on the house again today, they(nat & dan) added a few more things to be done, so its delayed the move a couple more days, but as long as its all done, then no big deal. And i know once they move in, these things they want done now, wont be done for who knows how long once the baby comes......so get it done now. They are adding slate tile to the front entrance and closet, she was going to leave it but changed her mind. Looks like the bathroom should be done too, the guys have been working away on it, and added some more shelves to the kitchen.

Off to get some more coffee, have some laundry in the wash that needs switching out.....so enjoy your day everyone!

    Afternoon everyone,

Been a bit busy looking after my friend, she has been really poorly, and has been in bed since the beginning of the week, very weak, only able to take a couple of steps to the commode.

I have tried all week to try to buck her up, but she really was not well. However, the last 2 days, as I have been going in 3 times a day, to encourage her, and she has made a slight improvement.

I took my dog, Fred, to see her, and her face beamed when she saw him.

I am still having to take my husband to the nurse for his leg wound. The nurse measured how deep the wound was, and it was 2cm deep, and that it could be another 2 months before the wound will be anywhere near recovered.

I am now on a 6 month course of Iron tablets, hopefully that should improve matters.

Very overcast here, no sun as yet.

Hope everyone has a good afternoon.:doggieshmooze:

Lili, have they tried using Manuka Honey dressings on the wound? About 11 years ago we got the District Nurse to get some on the NHS for my mother who had a leg ulcer that wouldn't heal. It cleared up in about 2 months. :blue thumb:

I've just done a quick google for these two but there are plenty more. The dressings were infused with Manuka honey.

I had a deep wound on my inner calf last Autumn which wouldn't heal. My daughter( an Equestrian ) said she treats horses leg wounds with Manuka honey and said "try it Mum. The highest strength you can afford." So I did, and it worked. Got to allow the wound to breathe though, so a porous dressing on top - and allow a couple of hours a day without the dressing on. I got high strength Active 22+ from Holland and Barratt as it was on offer at the time,

He is having dressings made of seaweed, It is not an ulcer as such, they are using this type of dressing to heal from the inside out. It has vastly improved, it's just a question of time. We are having the senior nurse every time, and we trust her judgement.

Loli, It is so nice not to have to worry that young Bertie is up to. My sister did come and pick him up at 4 o'clock.

Shiney, Lovely photos of Sarafi he is a lovely cat seems to have taken over Oscar's place in the greenhouse.

Lili you certainly have a lot going on healthwise with you friend, your OH and yourself too. I hope you all soon get on the road to well again.

                      Good morning everyone,

Hope you are all ok and have had a good two weeks while we have been away.

Arrived back home sunday afternoon from a nice two week holiday touring parts of the Highlands in Scotland and although the weather was tad wet at times and there were a few midges about had a great time and the highlight of the tour was seeing Tian Tian{Giant Panda} at Edinburgh Zoo:hapydancsmil:When we were staying at Killin we woke up one morning to snow on the mountains next to the caravan site which was nice and when we drove out to Glenco there was snow on those mountains as well:cool:

We drove to the allotment yesterday morning and picked loads of plums, apples, pears, beans, raspberries, cabbage, radish and beetroot so now have the task of getting them either prepared for freezing,or boxed up for storing:snork:

It is foggy here this morning but will no doubt get sunny later on so have a good day everyone:smile:

                        Aloha everyone,

Welcome back, Kandy :blue thumb:. It seems as though you had a good holiday. I hope the midges weren't biting too much.

I still keep getting bitten here and all of them have been coming up in blisters :mute:. Whilst we were in the Lakes I didn't get bitten once!

Moyra, Sarafi is a lovely cat but he's not like Oscar. Oscar used to give affection but Sarafi only takes it. To be fair to Sarafi, he has changed a lot since Mrs Shiney has been persisting in being friendly to him. Originally he used to just acknowledge that we were there. Now he comes running up to her. Those photos were taken in the pergola where we have the book sale. We put a perspex roof on it this year and he enjoys sleeping on the table under it. He also uses the greenhouse a bit and sleeps on Oscar's rug in there. I'm sure he'll use the propagator in the winter. :)

I got another lot of work done in the garden yesterday including mowing the wild area, getting rid of all the badger pooh, filling in the holes and spraying Jeyes all around the boundary and where the badgers have been digging. I found where they have been getting in. They ripped out a section of bamboo fencing that the neighbour put in to stop his dog from getting through the wire fence under his conifer hedge. The dog is no longer around and the neighbour can't see the bamboo section as it's behind the conifers. I've told him about it and said that as they may not want to come into our garden now they may start digging in his.

Mrs Shiney picked up a few cwt of windfall Williams pears yesterday!

                        Have a great day

                        Aloha!
