    Aloha everyone,

Shiney, that meal sounds scrumptious. I could have popped round for that.

WOO, I hope you enjoyed your night flight, rather you than me in the wet and cold.

Not very nice out there this morning with the rain it's back to the towelling rub down again for Amber, still she loves it.

Loli, how did you get on with your mum, she wasn't too well the other day you were seeing the doc I think about her dizzy turns?

Waves to Kandy, Penny et al, hope you are all ok, stay safe and warm and have a good day all.

    Aloha!:wub2:

Hello everyone, it's still cold here. Hi Moyra and Shiney and whoever comes after :)
Shiney, it's not too bad, hopefully if it does help wearing two then they will order me the proper weight. They are expensive so I have been told as they are individually made. It's summer I am not looking forward to, will have to wear trousers a lot.
Hoping to get to your garden opening but have forgotten where you live, do you have the date yet?

Moyra ...my mum was really poorly yesterday and actually stayed in bed:huh: something i've never known her do.....doc said her BP was a little high...she's already on medication for it but needs adjusting ....Yesterday she couldn't move for the dizziness and was vomiting too.took some more tablets for the sickness...sounds like vertigo to me...anyway tablets seem to have worked...she's up and doing today cooking a sunday roast...so i've told her off and told her to go steady:old: .....she's not a very good patient...now you know where i get it from:biggrin: .....

As you say Loli it is where you get your stubborness from so what can you expect from her. Just hope she doesn't overdo things and takes it a bit easier. Take care yourself too.

      Good morning everyone:smile:

Sorry to hear that your mum is unwell Loli and hope she feels better soon and that you are taking good care of yourself as well:smile:

Woo,be careful out there if you have the snow this morning as it will be quiet lethal with snow falling off of the tree branches.Just make sure you don't get cold feet:biggrin:

Shiney, sounds like you have been doing some good work for Barry and he is lucky to have a good friend like you to help him out.:blue thumb: Your meal sounds like it was enjoyable. We had a nice leg of lamb yesterday and will have some more today for din dins:yes:

Moyra,do be careful when you take Amber out if you have had the snow as it will be slippery under foot and the dogs do tend to pull and are quiet strong:oopss:

Jazmine sorry to hear of your health problems and hope that you manage to master the leg supports, they sound horrendous:eeew: Hope the young ones enjoyed their meal out and yes you should be the one to have a nice meal.Make some hints as it gets nearer Mothering Sunday that you would like to be treated to a nice meal for all the hard work you do for them:blue thumb:

Waves to everyone else and hope you are all ok and coping with the weather at the moment:smile:

We have had snow falling all night and it started early teatime yesterday after having rain all day which caused more flooding on the roads and in the fields.I fear that the winter is going to be a long one this year and that the sowing of seeds will be a little slow, but just hoping we have a nice warm summer:SUNsmile:

Have a good day everyone and take care on the paths and roads:smile:

        Good morning everyone,
I hope you are all in fine fettle:dbgrtmb:
Thankyou all for the well wishes for my Mum ,she's improving well...:dbgrtmb:
It's dry here today so my 'girls' will be pleased, they spent the day in their run yesterday and were making it clear they weren't happy but it was just constant rain and the garden is saturated and turning to mush and i thought it best they had a day off from 'helping' to scarify the lawn:whistle: Snow is forcast for later in the week here but looks like some of you have it already.....be carefull if out and about and keep warm:dbgrtmb:
No work for me today:yahoo: so after checking Mum out and if it stays fine i fancy a wander along the Humber...that'll blow the cob webs off:dbgrtmb:

Have a great day everyone and take care:SUNsmile:

Morning, WOO, Shiney, Loli, Jaz and Kandy hope all is well in your gardens!
Flooding everywhere with the sleet still coming down. I didn't know where to walk with Amber this morning as it was lakes everywhere.

Kandy yes thank you I am always careful when out with Amber, I cannot do otherwise really.

Well have a good day everyone and stay safe and well and warm.

          Aloha!:wub2:

            Aloha everyone,

The snow looks very pretty. We have about 3" out there and I can't really tell whether what is coming down now is proper snow.

            P1150620.JPG

The other day I made a very nice chicken soup with the carcase of the chicken I bought after taking off the breasts, legs and thighs, which made three nice meals for us. I also bought a 'Value pack' of chicken legs at the same time at £1.85 per kg and used them for the soup.
Yesterday I took all the flesh off the chicken in the soup and Mrs Shiney made some very nice chicken burger for us (garlic, fresh coriander, freshly roasted and ground cummin and coriander, lemon juice, powdered stock, black pepper, a touch of Worcester Sauce etc). We had those with the rest of the rice I made yesterday and some stir fried carrots, courgettes and mushrooms. There's enough burgers left for two more meals. Very economical - about £15 for six main meals and five soups for each of us. Who needs horse burgers? :heehee:

Keep warm and well and have a good day

            Aloha!

              Morning everyone,

Its warmer here today, was supposed to go down to Toronto, but calling for freezing rain and then back to snow....like we dont already have enough!!

Had a busy weekend, Saturday we spent part of the day shovelling off our roof and the inlaws, with the weight of all that snow and if it does rain today...not good!!!!!!

Yesterday was my anniversary, so Brad and i went out for breakfast with friends,Brad had to do some things at the shop, so i started some peppers, tomatoes and basil....still have some more to start.

We went out for supper lastnight for our anniversary, was a nice dinner, and now its Monday and where the heck did the weekend go!!

Anyhow.....off to get some more coffee, so enjoy your day everyone.

                Aloha everyone,

Penny, congratulations on your anniversary :ccheers:

At the moment, the snow on the ground is nicely frozen but the roads seem clear. It's not the weather for any gardening so I'll stay warm and cozy inside until I have to open up the club at lunchtime. :blue thumb:

Keep warm and have a great day

Good, Shrove Tuesday, morning to one and all :coffee:

Glad to hear your Mum is on the mend, loli :dbgrtmb: Enjoy your day off; I'm sure your girls will delight in free ranging today :)
Happy Anniversary, Penny & Brad! :ccheers:

Woo - thank you for the reminder that the days are indeed lengthening: slowly but surely. Easy to lose sight of that amongst the grey skies.

Shiney - gorgeous photo! And a tasty recipe too

Moyra - I know just what you mean when you say about walking Amber and dodging the lakes. Do you have a nice park you take her to? Or woods?

Kandy - yes, it certainly has been a sense of a long winter; I'm hoping we don't get a short summer.

Jazmine - try to get some pure linen trousers for the summer, they are perfect for keeping you cool if you have to wear trousers.

Yesterday we had an interesting day in MumLand. I've got a bout of "shin splints" at the moment so I have to rest/elevate (never heard of it before) so Mr Mum took Ozzy out for his morning walk while I got on filling the slow cooker with odds and bobs. While he was out, I noticed that the radiators were cold despite the boiler firing. Hmm, lucky us, the CH had packed up. Luckily, for me, a friend of mine from China had given me a set of clothing "to keep you warm" as a graduation gift. They are thermals and extraordinarly warm! Just needed Mr Mum to return so he could arrange to have the boiler fixed.

Meanwhile, Mr Mum noticed a car pull up near by him as he crossed the road on his return journey from the beach. A man got out, attracted his attention with a "Hey, mate!" and ran towards Mr Mum. Turns out, this man is Ozzy's previous owner (albeit for 2 months only). Ozzy greeted him excitedly and the man then told Mr Mum his own part in Ozzy's history and why he couldn't keep him. Fascinating! What was even more bizarre is, he said he was on the school run - fine; he had two primary school children the vehicle - but, he lives a good 8 miles away from this area and knowing the area he comes from, it is not an affluent one (so, he's not travelling a good distance to take them to a prep school or anything). Made the whole episode quite extraordinary in chance encounters.

Boiler finally fixed early afternoon :dancy:

Had one email from older son about his first day on his Spanish exchange trip, but no email last night: I think he must be shattered! :heehee:

A day of elevation/rest is on the cards for me today. Hopefully I'll be ready to resume Ozzy duties tomorrow when Mr Mum's shift begins.

Wishing you all a day of joy found in unsuspecting places.

                  Miles of smiles
                  Mum x
